Chapter 15: At the Adventurers’ Guild
After escorting Karen and a few villagers to the checkpoint on their way to Vestalna, the capital of the Vestal Frontier Marquisate bordering the Bahamul Territory, I parted ways with them and headed to the royal capital alone.
I kept my hood pulled low to hide my face.
With [Perception Disruption★] active, no one even noticed me.
Once I arrived at the adventurers’ guild building, I checked the request board.
There were a surprising number of missing person cases—mostly parents looking for their daughters.
On top of that, the royal knights were openly recruiting members.
(I’d love to have Karen try something like this.)
That thought crossed my mind as I scanned the request board.
(She probably wants to test her skills too. I’ll ask her once I’m back.)
But first, I needed to find the request I came here for.
It was a bodyguard job at a high-class brothel.
The contract lasted two weeks, or until the troublemaker got dealt with.
Only adventurers ranked Iron or higher could accept it.
Tasuku held the rank of Iron.
I tore the request form for the high-class brothel job off the board.
Toward the back of the lobby was the reception counter.
I made my way to the desk managed by a noblewoman of the Baron Roa family—Sophie Roa.
She greeted me warmly, a soft and graceful lady with light brown hair.
Her large chest bounced slightly as she smiled.
“Good afternoon. Are you here to take on a quest?”
Her tilted head and narrowed eyes gave her smile a soothing, almost healing charm.
(Even in the game, I liked her, but seeing her in real life—she’s incredibly beautiful.)
Back in my previous life as Tasuku Takamura, she had been my favorite heroine.
But this was the world of the game now, and I was the final boss of the last installment.
What a shame. Still… what if I could bring her over to my side?
Sophie Roa was one of the main heroines in Eternia III.
In the game, when Ars and Saintess Hanna took on her quest, they would use a certain skill to win her over.
She didn’t have any combat skills, and her base stats weren’t suited for battle either.
However, she was a scout-type character with excellent detection and exploration skills.
The problem was, outside of those abilities, she was laughably weak.
In combat, she was pretty much useless—a very challenging character to work with.
“I’d like to take this quest.”
I handed the request paper I pulled from the board to Sophie Roa.
“This is the bodyguard job for Queen Bee, correct? Let me confirm your eligibility. May I see your adventurer card?”
Queen Bee was the name of the brothel.
Officially it was called a guard job, but in reality, it was just being a bouncer.
I nodded and handed over my adventurer card as requested.
“Adventurer Sir Tasuku, ranked Iron. It’s been a while, hasn’t it? You meet all the requirements, so I, Sophie Roa, will process your request. Please wait a moment while I prepare the acceptance slip.”
Sophie took the request slip I handed over and stepped back, her round and cute backside jiggling slightly as she moved.
As expected of a heroine from an eroge.
Not to mention, she was the only heroine in the game with a large chest…
After a short wait, Sophie returned to the counter, her ample breasts bouncing with every step.
“Thank you for waiting, Sir Tasuku. Here is the acceptance slip for the Queen Bee request. Please take a look.”
I took the acceptance slip from her long, slender fingers and checked the contents.
(She’s got great handwriting.)
The characters were beautifully written.
“Confirmed.”
“Good. Then—”
She went on to explain the terms of the request in detail, including what would happen if it failed.
It must have been a pain to explain every time. Honestly, remembering all of it was just as troublesome.
“—And with that, regardless of how the request turns out, please make sure to report back to me, Sophie Roa.”
I listened through her explanation until the end.
“By the way, this request only came in a few days ago. Queen Bee may be a high-class brothel, but these kinds of bodyguard jobs posted at the adventurers’ guild usually involve unpleasant work. The tasks can be rough, the duration is long, and most adventurers avoid them. On top of that, the reward is a bit lower than the standard rate, so especially—”
Sophie finished giving me her thoughts on the request.
In fact, this quest was available early on in Eternia III.
When players accepted it, the receptionist would explain,
“This quest never really got much attention. The reward wasn’t great, so no one wanted to take it. The client was actually thinking of withdrawing it.”
With the request accepted, I headed toward the entertainment district, located near the Meltrix Duke family’s estate in the commercial sector.
Of course, I couldn’t let anyone recognize me, so I kept [Perception Disruption★] active.
Queen Bee was a high-end brothel with a strong reputation.
I entered through the front door.
“Oh my, sweetheart. This place is for grown men. You should head home before you pick up any bad habits.”
A woman with flashy hair and heavy makeup gave me a warning.
Well, fair enough.
I was only thirteen.
From the perspective of a grown woman, I probably looked like a complete kid.
“Um, I came from the adventurers’ guild. I’ve accepted the request.”
I handed her the acceptance slip.
“My, that was fast. Still, you sure you’re up for this? You just barely meet the requirements from the looks of it.”
She eyed me suspiciously.
Not that I could blame her—I really did look like a little boy.
“Yes. I’ll be fine. Please leave it to me.”
“Well, it’s not like we’re going to turn you away or anything. But just try not to die, alright? We usually only take high-class clients here, but lately… the crowd’s been getting a little rough.”
She said something similar in the game too.
In Eternia III, it happened a year later, when the protagonist Ars was fifteen.
“Come back when you’re a little older. I’ll teach you all sorts of nice things then.”
Yeah, that kind of line.
For the record, you could sleep with the NPCs here in the game too, but it cost a lot of money.
Still, it was one of the few places where you could have normal, consensual encounters—not rape, coercion, or brainwashing like so many other routes.
As for the quest itself, it was pretty simple.
The heir to the Degim Viscount family had become obsessed with one of the girls here.
Since he couldn’t afford to buy her out, he hired some tough adventurers to threaten the place.
He was making demands, trying to force the price down, stirring up trouble and blocking their business.
The adventurer he brought along was a Gold-rank with decent level and stats, but nothing that could match mine.
The confrontation came quickly.
On the third day of my stay at Queen Bee, I ran into Amul Degim, the Viscount’s heir, and the clan Steelblood, a group known for having a lot of Gold-ranked adventurers.
The days here had been chaotic, what with the women constantly flirting with me, but I’d actually kind of enjoyed it.
It was a bit of a shame that it was all coming to an end today.
“Not a single coin less, got it? Do you have any idea how much that girl makes in one night? Besides, she’s a slave. Unless you’re offering more than what we paid for her, we’re not even discussing it.”
The woman shut him down cold.
Same exact lines as in the game.
“You’ve got some nerve talking like that. Crushing a place like this would be easy for me. Go ahead. Do it. Do whatever you want with the rest of the women.”
“For real? Then I’ll start with this whore right here.”
“Perfect. If you take care of her first, that saves me the trouble.”
The Gold-rank adventurer reached out toward the woman.
To her, he was probably moving fast—but to me, it looked like slow motion.
As she squeezed her eyes shut and flinched in fear, I stepped in front of her and grabbed the adventurer’s hand.
Then I twisted and slammed him to the ground.
“Agh—! You bastard!”
“Get him! Take him out! I don’t care if he dies!”
A group of adventurers pointed their weapons at me.
The brothel erupted into chaos—screams from the girls, panicked shouting from the male customers.
But none of that mattered to me.
The adventurers charged one after another.
That actually made things easier.
I used non-elemental magic to strengthen my body and struck at their necks, knocking them unconscious one by one.
I didn’t even need to draw my sword.
“My, so they couldn’t even handle a kid like this? You really can’t judge people, can you?”
She’d been scared just a minute ago.
Now she looked absolutely fierce.
“Sweetheart, I’m going to tie up that rich brat and his adventurers. Mind giving me a hand?”
I helped her bind the unconscious Gold-rank adventurers.
Amul Degim was tied up the same way, his hands and feet bound to stop him from moving.
“The guards are already on their way, sweetheart. You can go rest now.”
Following her instructions, I stepped into the waiting room.
There, the brothel girls who had been waiting for me swarmed in and smothered me with attention—though none of it was anything lewd.
The next day—
I was summoned by the woman and brought into a luxurious lounge, filled with elegant furnishings.
Now we sat across from each other.
“I never expected you to be that strong. Here’s the proof that the request is complete. Take it. And here’s your payment. It might seem a little cheap, but please don’t hold it against us.”
She placed a few platinum coins on the table, along with a [Skill Crystal: Charm★].
“Most people probably expect a lot more for guarding a brothel with such wealthy clients, but we pay our girls properly too, so this is really the best we can do. That’s why I’m including this crystal as a bonus.”
Truth be told, I valued the Skill Crystal more than the money.
“Not at all. I’m honestly grateful to receive something this rare.”
“Fufu, glad to hear it. I don’t really understand the value of these sparkly stones myself. I just kept it locked away, but it wasn’t doing me any good anyway.”
“That’s not true at all. I really do appreciate it.”
“Sweetheart—no, Sir Tasuku. Come back here again when you’ve grown up a bit more. When you do, I’ll give you plenty of service. Let’s call that our way of making up for the rest of your reward.”
“Haha… I’ll look forward to it then.”
And so, the quest was completed in about five days.
I made my way back to the adventurers’ guild.
Once again, I lined up at Sophie Roa’s counter.
She was cute, so of course she was popular.
And honestly, she looked much younger than she did in the game.
Sophie first appeared as one of the main heroines in Violation of Eternia III, where she was twenty-four years old.
She returned again in IV as a main heroine, aged twenty-six by then.
But right now, the timeline was still early in the story of Eternia II, and according to the lore, she should be twenty-three.
Just the age where a woman starts to show more mature charm.
I was admiring her when it finally became my turn.
“Good afternoon, Sir Tasuku. Are you here to report the completion of your quest?”
Sophie Roa greeted me with a gentle smile, tilting her head and narrowing her eyes sweetly.
Her large chest swayed softly—just looking at her made me feel at peace…
“Yes. I’ve completed the Queen Bee quest. Here’s the reward I received.”
I handed over the quest completion proof, the platinum coins, and the [Skill Crystal: Charm★].
“Thank you. I’ve received everything. Now, we’ll deduct a ten percent commission from the reward, and the remaining amount will go to you, Sir Tasuku. As for the Skill Crystal, we value it at one platinum coin across the board. So we’ll subtract the value of four gold coins and pay you the rest. If you wish to keep the Skill Crystal, we’ll count it as the equivalent of one platinum coin.”
So, I chose to receive the [Skill Crystal: Charm★], along with 2 platinum coins and 6 gold coins as my reward.
And then… I gave in to temptation and took a peek.
Sure enough, her sensitive areas and preferences showed up—but I behaved myself and didn’t stare too long.
Apparently, she liked pampering the opposite sex.

“Ah! Sir Tasuku, you used a skill on me just now, didn’t you? Was that [Appraisal]?”
Busted.
Wait… how did she even notice?
“I’m sorry. I couldn’t help myself and ended up peeking…”
“It’s alright. If you had just asked, I wouldn’t have refused, you know? Besides, if it helps you grow as an adventurer, then I don’t see any harm in letting you take a look.”
“Still… I’m really sorry.”
“No need to apologize. But… my stats are pretty terrible, right? That’s why no one wanted to marry me. I even went to the lowest-ranked school—Sixth Academy.”
Sophie lowered her head, looking downcast.
I felt kind of guilty.
“From what I saw, your skills actually look amazing. Maybe that’s how you even noticed I used [Appraisal].”
Even with magic tools or scrolls, most appraisal attempts can’t properly read unique classes or rare skills.
Sometimes only the names show up, or the results are limited by the appraiser’s level or the class tier.
Sophie’s skills were full of unique traits, probably beyond the reach of ordinary appraisal.
That’s likely why she’d been overlooked and treated unfairly.
I already knew all this from my memories of the game—but seeing it in person really drove it home.
“How do you see me, Sir Tasuku?”
“Hmm… You’ve got a lot of skills that could be dangerous if misused. But if you’re on my side, there’s no one more reliable. Honestly, I’d love to have you work with me.”
“O-Oh… I-I see…”
For some reason, Sophie’s face turned beet red.

Her affection level went up by 10!
That aside, unlike in the game, it seemed that in this world, people like the protagonist Ars and the main heroines didn’t even know how to check their own status.
Maybe they didn’t understand how to view it, or maybe the very concept of checking stats just didn’t exist.
From what I’d heard, it was common for people to only learn their abilities by using appraisal skills or magical tools.
In the game, once a party was formed, you could view everyone’s status, so I remembered the important skills each heroine had.
Sophie wasn’t very useful in combat, but with [Lockpicking★], she could unlock any door and sneak into any place.
And without her, the dungeon’s auto-mapping feature wouldn’t work, which made things really inconvenient.
By the way, in the game, there was an event where the protagonist would receive the [Skill Crystal: Charm★] and use it on the spot.
“Lord Ars, here is your reward.”
Right after that, a choice would pop up:
-Use the Skill Crystal
-Leave it
If you chose Use the Skill Crystal, another set of choices would appear:
-Use the learned skill
-Do nothing
Even if you picked Do nothing, as long as [Charm★] was in your skill list, the game would keep prompting you with:
-Use the skill
-Do nothing
In the game, to move the main storyline forward, you had to use [Charm★] on Sophie and recruit her into your party.
Only then could you accept main quests from the girls who worked as receptionists.
Seeing the real-life Sophie in front of me reminded me of that.
Still blushing, she gently opened her mouth and spoke.
“By the way, Sir Tasuku… I heard you’re from the Bahamul Territory, but… is there even an adventurers’ guild over there?”
“No, there isn’t. The closest one would be in Vestalna, in the Vestal Frontier Marquisate.”
“I see… Then why are you active here in the capital?”
“Well, it’s more convenient in some ways, and it also helps me clear my head a bit.”
“And where do you usually work?”
Uh oh.
Why is she asking so many questions all of a sudden?
“Uh… well… I’m usually in Vestalna… Or rather, I spend most of my time exploring dungeons…”
“But there’s no dungeon entry record under your name… and this quest was your first one in a year, right? That struck me as a little odd…”
Sophie tilted her head, pressing a finger thoughtfully against her chin.
She really was cute.
Still, I was starting to panic—how was I supposed to dodge this without sounding suspicious?
But before I could say anything, she seemed to settle it herself.
“Well, adventurers have their own circumstances, I guess. I was being too nosy. Sorry about that.”
Sophie gave me a small bow in apology.
“Well then, I still have work to do at the counter. Please come see me again the next time you take on a quest.”
After exchanging parting greetings, I left the adventurers’ guild.
Once I was outside, I activated [Perception Disruption★] to avoid attention and slipped out of the capital unnoticed.
Then, from my pouch, I took out the [Skill Crystal: Charm★] and used it to learn the skill.

I’m starting to think Mc doesn’t care about Ars, lol.
