- Reincarnated as the Final Boss of an Eroge, but I Just Want a Peaceful Life After the Game Ends
- Chapter 06: Yeah. Let’s Run for It.
Chapter 06: Yeah. Let’s Run for It.
The next morning.
For once, a maid came to wake me.
“Please get up.”
But her voice was cold.
It was Liliana.
“I was told by the lord to give you this. Please leave the estate immediately.”
So my parents weren’t even going to see me off.
I see.
Being treated coldly by people you thought cared about you really hurts.
It makes you question if your very existence was just a lie.
The letter from Father had been tossed on the ground like trash.
[Letter from Dorm: Appointment as Acting Lord of Bahamul Territory]
Just to be sure, I checked it with [Appraisal★]—and it turned out to be a legitimate document.
I picked up the discarded letter, quickly got changed, and left the house just like that.
My destination was Bahamul Territory.
Technically, Bahamul was under the care of House Meltrix, but it lay even farther out than the frontier territories.
The Meltrix domain was situated along the western shore of Lake Grandelac, northwest of the capital.
To its west was the Margrave’s land, and tucked away in the northern tip of that region was a small area—that was Bahamul.
There hadn’t been an heir, so the Meltrix family took over as caretakers in name only.
In truth, it had been completely abandoned.
Just as I left the royal capital, I picked up a hostile presence with [Presence Detection★].
(Liliana, huh?)
She kept her distance, waiting for the right moment.
Was she planning to assassinate me?
Who sent her?
Father? Or Mother?
So it had come to this…
Was this what an affection score of zero really meant?
Several hours passed.
Liliana continued tailing me, always at the same distance.
At some point, she was going to make her move.
And most likely, it would be soon.
There was only one spot along the road where the foot traffic thinned out.
Just as I expected, she struck at that exact moment.
She suddenly closed the distance—and with a sharp sound, a kunai came flying at my torso from behind.
Well, I dodged it. Obviously.
The moment she realized it missed, Liliana rushed at me, dual-wielding daggers.
The blades were coated in something wet. Poison.
The kunai was probably laced with poison too.
Which meant…
Did Sidol get targeted for assassination in the game too?
If that was the case, then maybe Sidol in the original timeline couldn’t dodge her kunai, got poisoned, and collapsed.
But even so, he survived—
Only to show up later as the final boss of Violation of Eternia IV.
It must’ve been because he was fat.
So fat, the poison couldn’t reach a lethal dose.
But the current me?
Just a scratch would probably be enough to kill me.
Liliana’s blades cut through the air with a sharp whoosh whoosh.
She was way faster than me—I was barely managing to dodge.
Well, guess I had no choice.
Just as I started forming the spell in my mind, Liliana’s eyes locked onto me.
We made eye contact.
Ah, this’ll work.
I decided to make good use of [Chant Omission★].
I cast a light-element spell.
A bright flash exploded right in front of my face.
Just before it went off, I had shut my eyes tight and turned away, stepping back.
But what about her, who was staring right at me?
It had to be blinding.
When I looked again, Liliana was covering her eyes, swinging her daggers around wildly.
Perfect. Now’s my chance.
I activated [Perception Disruption★] and slipped away from the scene.
◆
After Liliana’s attack, everything felt a lot more peaceful.
Since I didn’t have a horse, I was making my way on foot.
Which meant I could move quickly if I wanted to—or take it slow.
Still, it was probably best to hurry.
As I walked, I started thinking more about Liliana.
Her name never appeared in the game.
There wasn’t even a single line mentioning her after Sidol got exiled.
In Violation of Eternia III, you could enter the Meltrix ducal estate, and there was a scene where Sheena Meltrix Eternia and Gina Meltrix were violated.
When Hero Ars tried to go after Sheena, she would scream loudly—
And that triggered a choice:
>>Silence her
>>Apologize and stop
If you chose “Silence her”, Sheena would never appear again.
If you chose “Apologize and stop”, there’d be no adult scene with her, and if you talked to her again, the same options would just pop up.
In other words, the only way to view an adult scene with Sheena was to pick “Silence her.”
And after that, she never showed up again.
Gina, on the other hand, remained available.
As long as you visited House Meltrix, you could repeat the scene with her anytime.
The more times it happened, the more she’d cling and beg with adorable little sounds.
That made Gina incredibly popular with players—
She became one of the most beloved NPCs in Violation of Eternia III.
Those kinds of scenes would be saved in the gallery, a memory mode you could access from the game’s main menu.
So for completionists, you’d go through even the violation events…
But now?
Now that they were my real mother and sister, just remembering it made my chest ache.
Back to the topic of Liliana—
Even in Violation of Eternia III, when you visited House Meltrix, there were plenty of servants and maids around…
But none of them resembled her.
Because of how the game was built—where every NPC with adult content had a name—
I had memorized almost all of them.
When I got reincarnated into this world, seeing all those names again had moved me deeply.
But Liliana’s name…
Was never one of them.
The only explanation I could think of…
Was that after she failed to assassinate me, she was silenced—to erase the evidence.
I wondered…
Would I ever get the chance to find out what really happened to Liliana?
Well, thinking about Liliana like this was kind of my way of coping.
I was worried about Ivelia.
Fina was on my mind too.
And getting treated like trash by my parents… that hurt.
Even with memories from my past life, I was still Sidol Meltrix—
The son of Dorm Meltrix and Sheena Meltrix Eternia.
I couldn’t stop thinking about my younger brother Thorl and my little sister Gina either.
That feeling of despair…
Like my whole life had just crumbled apart—
It hit hard.
◆
After walking for two straight weeks,
I finally arrived at Bahamul Territory.
If I had traveled normally, it probably would’ve taken almost two months.
But whenever no one was around, I used non-elemental magic to speed things up.
That’s the only reason I got here this quickly.
Still, I had to admit—
They weren’t kidding when they said this was the most remote place from the capital.
Mountains, forests, rivers, lakes… that was the entire landscape.
There weren’t even enough houses to assume a population over a thousand.
It looked like barely anyone lived here.
The lord’s manor was two stories tall and just barely impressive enough to qualify as one.
Honestly, it didn’t even look fit for proper living.
Yeah, this was going to be rough.
That said…
There was something I had been looking forward to.
Deep in the forest of Bahamul Territory, there should be a high-level dungeon.
In Violation of Eternia IV, Sidol was called the weakest final boss in the series—
But one of the in-game texts mentioned that after being exiled, he kept diving into dungeons to raise his level.
And supposedly, in this territory, there was someone with the potential to become the kingdom’s strongest knight.
I needed to find her soon.
In the game, she appeared as a boss character you fought before the final showdown with Sidol…
But to Sidol himself, she was one of his few allies.
Anyway—
First things first, I needed to head inside the manor.
I had to announce that I was here as the acting lord.
Once I stepped inside the small estate, it was quiet.
But it looked well-maintained.
The entrance hall was surprisingly clean.
“Excuse me!”
I called out loudly—
And a cute voice answered back.
“Sorry! I’ve got my hands full right now! Can you wait a little bit?”
So, I waited.
And after a short while—
“Sorry for the wait!”
With a soft slap of slippers, a girl walked over—
A beautiful girl who looked just a little taller than me and almost like a boy.
The moment she saw me, she said:
“Oh, just a prank by some kid? You can’t do that, you know? Don’t bother people when they’re busy! Got it?”
She winked at me and wagged her finger playfully.
I didn’t think, What a rude girl!
I was still just a kid myself—and so was she.
“Sorry to bother you while you’re busy. I actually brought an official letter.”
I showed the letter to her.
“Whoa, this is from the Duke of Meltrix himself! Can I open it?”
“Yeah, go ahead.”
“Alright then, I’m opening it!”
She unsealed the letter and started reading it.
Guess she could read, huh?
While she was reading, I used [Appraisal★] on her.

I couldn’t help thinking, Seriously? Right off the bat?
But it made sense.
She was the one who would later be known as the kingdom’s strongest knight.
So her class was [Sword Saint★], huh?
That was a high-tier class—something you wouldn’t normally unlock unless you’d trained a good amount already.
And the ★ attached to it? That definitely meant it was a unique class.
She could use all four elemental magics, plus non-elemental magic too.
She was two years older than me, and judging by her stats, she was still weak for now.
But with a class like that, her growth rate per level had to be insane.
Also, having 20 affection points right at our first meeting wasn’t bad at all.
There were people who had started at 2 before, after all.
As I was nodding while going over Karen’s stats, she finished reading the letter and handed it back to me.
“I understand. My name is Karen Dyle. I’m the eldest daughter of the Dyle Baronet family, and I work here as a maid of sorts. Ever since the former lord passed away, I’ve been waiting in case a replacement would be sent. I look forward to working with you.”
She didn’t curtsey like I expected.
Instead, she placed a hand over her chest and gave me a polite bow.
“Sidol Meltrix. I just arrived, so I’d appreciate any help you can give. Looking forward to working with you.”
I placed a hand over my chest and bowed back.
“Well then, Acting Lord! There’s work waiting already—this way, please!”
And just like that, she grabbed my hand and led me straight to the office.
Wow… the stacks of paperwork were no joke.
“We’ve got three months’ worth of paperwork piled up since the previous lord passed away. I know you just got here, but please take care of it~”
“Ah… sure. Got it.”
I couldn’t quite find my rhythm.
Getting put to work the moment I arrived felt overwhelming.
And yet, for some reason, I just went along with what she said.
Not like I was under mind control or anything—
It just… felt okay to listen to her.
After about three hours, I was finally set free.
Karen had helped too, so we managed to get through nearly half the documents.
“Whew—thank you so much. I can’t believe we got through this much. Nobles from the capital really are something else.”
“I was not expecting to be worked this hard right after arriving. I’m exhausted.”
“Really, thank you. I’ll go get the bath ready now, so feel free to take it easy.”
“Resting sounds nice, but… mind if I look around the place a bit?”
“You can, but don’t go into my room, okay?”
Karen said that and walked out of the office.
Yeah… that was definitely a flag.
I mean, I had no idea whose room was where in this place.
Still, things had been chaotic ever since I arrived,
But Karen’s personality was honestly a lifesaver.
She was cheerful, blunt, and had this pushy energy—
But even when things got tough, she pulled me along.
Right now, that kind of presence meant a lot to me.
And despite being only Level 5, her skill proficiency was unusually high.
Which meant… she must’ve been putting in the effort behind the scenes.
She came off carefree, but clearly, she was a hard worker.
Honestly, she was a pretty admirable girl.
Anyway, first on the agenda: leveling up Karen.
We’d hunt monsters in the forest while exploring the high-level dungeon.
I took a look around the small estate.
It felt more like a regular house than a noble’s manor, really.
I was surprised there was even a proper bath.
But when I got to Karen’s room on the second floor… it was a total mess.
For her sake, I decided not to bring it up.
