Reincarnated as the Final Boss of an Eroge, but I Just Want a Peaceful Life After the Game Ends - Chapter 03: Hero Ars
Chapter 03: Hero Ars
To the south of Eternia Kingdom’s capital city, Eterna, there was a small seaside village—about ten days away by carriage.
That’s where Violation of Eternia’s protagonist, Ars, was born.
It was a fishing village, and like most of the villagers, Ars’s parents worked as fishermen.
Ars was the youngest of seven siblings.
He was raised with a lot of love and attention from his older brothers and sisters.
That said, maybe he was spoiled a bit too much—he grew up a little selfish and didn’t always listen to others.
His parents worried about that.
But whenever they saw his adorable smile, they couldn’t stay mad at him—and that was probably part of the problem.
Ars was born with a special kind of talent.
Everyone in his family was proud of him—and often bragged about him to others.
He could head into the forest and hunt large monsters without fear.
At the shore, he’d take down giant crab-like creatures.
He quickly became popular in the village.
By the time he turned ten, many of the village girls had started gathering around him, finding excuses to stay close.

At just ten years old, Ars was already Level 3.
That meant he had fought and won against monsters multiple times.
He could use two types of elemental magic, but his Intelligence (INT) stat was too low to make those spells truly effective in battle.
That’s why he always carried a sword and shield when facing monsters.
Even with those kinds of stats and skills, Ars didn’t know how to open his status screen.
And even if he somehow managed to open it, he couldn’t read the text.
He had no idea what the data floating in his head even meant—let alone how to use it.
But then, one day, something happened that completely changed his life.
While out hunting, Ars spotted a herd of bison chasing down a squad of royal knights
“Bison could be a good catch today,” he thought, hefting his heavy battle axe over his shoulder as he wandered forward.
The knights were in terrible shape.
Some had been thrown from their horses, others trampled underfoot.
Many were seriously injured—and some had already died.
(Looks like about a hundred bison…)
The knights had started out as a group of around fifty, but they were already down to twenty.
At this rate, the whole squad would be wiped out.
“Guess I’ll help them out.”
With that, Ars charged straight into the herd of bison.
“Hey! Stop! You’ll get yourself killed!”
Rod Faustler, the squad captain, watched in disbelief as a child charged straight into the bison herd.
He had been ordered by his superior to lead this squad of fifty knights as part of a training mission.
And now, before his eyes, something unbelievable was happening.
That very child was swinging a battle axe, mowing down bison one after another.
He smashed through their skulls with powerful overhead blows, jabbed their foreheads with the end of the handle, and kicked them over like it was nothing.
The knights had been getting trampled left and right—yet this boy was slaying the monsters with ease.
“Amazing…”
Rod stood frozen, stunned.
“Captain, let’s back him up,” one of the soldiers beside him suggested.
“Yes. Let’s do that.”
Rod tightened his grip on the reins and raised his sword once more.
“Everyone! That boy has carved us a path! We ride—follow him!”
With a loud rallying cry, Rod spurred his horse forward, heading straight toward Ars.
“””Yes, sir!”””
The remaining knights shouted in unison and charged in behind their captain, plunging into the herd.
By the time Ars had slain around twenty bison with his battle axe, the rest began to retreat.
Combined with the ones the knights had brought down, a total of thirty bison lay dead.
Once the area was clear and no more enemies remained, Rod gave orders to search for any surviving knights.
Then he rode up beside Ars, dismounted from his horse, and called out to him.
“Boy. What’s your name?”
He removed his gauntlet and revealed his face—because no matter if the other party was a commoner, he felt it would be wrong to show such little respect to someone who had just saved their lives.
“I’m Ars. From Umiberi Village.”
“Ars, huh? I’m Rod Faustler, a squad captain in the Royal Knights. You saved us out there. Thank you.”
Rod bowed his head as he expressed his gratitude.
He was the kind of man who didn’t hesitate to bow—even to a commoner—when the situation called for it.
Then, he continued speaking.
“Is Umiberi Village close to here?”
“Yes. It’s about a 30-minute walk from here.”
“I see. We owe you for saving us—and I’d also like to treat the wounded. Would you be willing to guide us to your village?”
“That’s fine, but… the bison…”
“Ah, right. Since we’ll be carrying the injured anyway, we can haul the bison we killed as well.”
“Thank you. That would really help.”
Ars got along well with the knights, quickly memorizing their names and chatting casually as they traveled to the village together.
Once they arrived, the knights spoke with the village chief, asking for permission to stay while the wounded received treatment.
At the same time, several knights helped Ars butcher the bison.
The knights who worked alongside Ars were amazed by his skill, and many couldn’t stop praising him.
It wasn’t just his butchering technique—they were also stunned by the clean and precise wounds on the bison he had taken down.
While Ars had crushed skulls and snapped spines with clean hits, the bison the knights killed were covered in slash marks, with organs spilling out—far messier.
Ars, on the other hand, had made sure to avoid unnecessary bleeding, since he wanted to preserve the best parts of the meat.
The knights didn’t fully understand that level of detail, but they kept marveling at the lack of blood and the neat wounds on the bison he brought down.
Getting praised for his courage and strength felt pretty nice, and Ars quickly warmed up to the knights. They chatted and joked like old friends.
Over the next week, while the injured knights recovered, the squad stayed in the village.
During that time, Ars trained with Rod and the other knights, learning swordsmanship and other martial skills.
“Ars, you’re amazing! If you’re interested, how about coming with us? We could help you train in the martial arts—and honestly, I’d love to introduce you to my father.”
“Are you sure that’s okay?”
“Of course. I’ve already gotten permission from your parents. If you’re willing, we’d be happy to take care of your education.”
“Thank you! Then I’ll go talk to my father and mother too, just to let them know.”
Ars returned home to get his parents’ approval, and with the generous offer that included a salary and a one-time payment to his family, they happily agreed.
And so, Ars became a trainee soldier under the Faustler ducal household and moved to the royal capital.
In the capital, he was assigned to live in the soldiers’ dormitory located on the Faustler estate grounds.
◆
After moving to the capital, Ars officially joined the territorial soldiers under the Faustler family.
He trained daily in combat techniques while also learning to read, write, and do basic arithmetic.
He picked up martial arts incredibly fast.
Despite only being ten years old, his talent stood out.
During drills, he displayed skills on par with grown soldiers—and by that point, regular foot soldiers couldn’t even keep up with him.
Thanks to proving his strength, it didn’t take long after joining the Faustler unit for Ars to be assigned to an actual monster hunting squad within the territory.
This was to be his first mission as a soldier.
Before the assignment, some of the knights suggested he visit the church to pray for protection.
And so, Rod Faustler took Ars to the grand cathedral—the largest church in the royal capital.
Before they offered their prayers to the goddess statue, Rod introduced Ars to a certain girl.
“This is Saintess Hanna. She’s the same age as you, so I’m sure you two will cross paths often.”
“My name is Hanna. It’s an honor to be introduced. I’m not worthy of being called a saintess, but I’d be glad if you remembered me.”
She placed her hands over her stomach, bowed at the waist, and lowered her head.
So cute! —Ars’s heart skipped a beat.
Aside from Hanna, Ars also had a crush on Luna Faustler, the noble daughter of a ducal family.
But Luna felt like someone far out of reach, like a star in the sky—more of a distant admiration than something he believed he could act on.
But this girl—Hanna—
“She’s a commoner by birth, so some nobles look down on her. But with someone like you by her side, I think she’ll feel less stressed. I’d really appreciate it if you could befriend her.”
Rod said this with a gentle tone.
“I understand,” Ars replied, then turned to Hanna and introduced himself.
“I’m Ars. From Umiberi Village.”
He placed his left hand over his chest and bowed his head in return.
◆
Hanna had long been known as the “Saintess,” but she had always been alone.
She was born in the slums of the royal capital, raised in a family where even getting food on the table was a daily struggle.
Even before she could fully understand the world, Hanna already had a strong talent for light magic.
Light-element magic, like dark-element magic, was rare.
But more importantly, it had healing properties.
Hanna had no aptitude for any element other than light, but even so, her high proficiency in healing spells helped her earn money from a young age.
Thanks to that, her family was able to survive.
Healing arts were profitable.
Even though she was a commoner, using her healing magic indiscriminately to treat anyone who needed it brought in more than enough money.
Naturally, it didn’t take long before rumors of her talent spread among the Church and the nobility.
Then, on the day Hanna turned eight, the Archbishop of the Grand Cathedral came to visit her family.
“I want to take Hanna into the Church. We’ll provide a generous payment in return.”
For a poor family in the slums, saying no wasn’t an option.
With the promise of money, Hanna’s parents handed her over without hesitation.
Hanna understood it in her head—but her heart still ached.
She loved her family.
She felt betrayed—sold off for money—and crushed by the harsh reality of social status.
And yet… at the same time, another thought grew inside her.
(Maybe I really am special… to be able to use light magic at this level.)
If a cardinal from the Grand Cathedral came all the way to the slums just to meet her, then of course Hanna started to see herself as someone special.
Before long, people began calling her the “Saintess.”
She could cure any illness and, as long as a limb wasn’t missing, heal almost any injury in an instant.
Her reputation spread quickly—admiration for her soared among the people.
Soon, the name “Saintess Hanna” became known not just across the kingdom, but even beyond its borders.
But on the other hand…
She was forbidden from seeing even her own parents and constantly tormented by a deep loneliness.
And then—Ars appeared.
The way he awkwardly but respectfully bowed before her made her smile without even realizing it.
From the very first moment, Hanna liked Ars.
◆
Ars successfully completed his first monster-hunting expedition.
After that, Rod often brought him to the Grand Cathedral to spend time with Hanna.
They were both born commoners, and that helped them bond quickly.
They became close, sharing warm and cheerful moments together over time.
Meanwhile, Hanna also began participating in military operations as a saintess, which helped her gain experience and level up.
Some time passed—
Ars, through a recommendation from the Faustler Duke’s household, and Hanna, through a recommendation from a cardinal, both took the entrance exam for the Royal First Academy’s middle division—and passed.
Despite being just a pair of commoner-born kids, Ars and Hanna had already built up impressive accomplishments.
And during the entrance exam, their high status values were revealed through an ability known as [Appraisal].

Even with stats like those, they didn’t make it into the top twenty.
As a result, both Ars and Hanna were assigned to Class D—a group made up mostly of merchants’ children and upper-class commoners.
