Chapter 02: Skill Crystal Stones
I had finally turned ten.
In the royal capital, the school a noble child attends is determined by their entrance exam results.
I passed without issue and became a first-year student at the Royal First Academy’s Elementary Division.

My level was still stuck at 1.
I’d been training with the knights for five years now.
And while I hadn’t fought in real battles, I had picked up the basics of many martial arts. My proficiency levels showed solid, even growth across the board.
As expected of someone who was meant to be the series’ final boss—
A master of every kind of magic and weapon skill, with an arsenal of versatile techniques.
Magic-wise, I’d hit a ceiling.
Since my maximum MP hadn’t increased, I couldn’t cast higher-tier spells.
And spamming low-tier spells didn’t raise proficiency anymore.
Even so, the knights who watched over my training often encouraged me.
“You haven’t experienced real combat yet, so your level hasn’t gone up, but your progress is remarkable, Lord Sidol. Being able to handle this many disciplines so well is rare.”
Their praise was always appreciated.
And now, at last—
I’d been assigned a personal attendant.
“My name is Liliana Logroles. I’m the third daughter of Viscount Logroles. I may not be worthy to serve someone like you, Lord Sidol, but I’ll do my best. Please take care of me.”
She had a slender figure and a cute face.
The maid uniform suited her perfectly.
As expected of a world born from an eroge—
Every woman here was stunning. It was truly a feast for the eyes.
The Logroles Viscount family was one of the vassal houses under our Meltrix Ducal line.
So it made sense that she’d end up assigned to serve me.
Still, I couldn’t help but wonder—why hadn’t she already been married off?
She was this cute, after all.
But hey, I wasn’t complaining.
For me, this was an opportunity I was more than happy to accept.
“I’m Sidol Meltrix. I’ll do my best not to give you a reason to hate me, so I look forward to working with you.”
As Liliana gave a graceful curtsey, I offered her my hand.
She took it and knelt politely.
Soon after Liliana’s arrival, I decided to head out into the city’s commoner district.
“Mother, I’d like to visit the church and the orphanage. Would that be alright?”
I made the request in her room, with Liliana by my side.
“My, how admirable. Go on then. Take Liliana with you. Learn everything you can about our kingdom.”
She didn’t scold me at all.
In fact, she encouraged me.
“But the commoner district can be a bit dangerous, so I’ll assign a knight as your escort.”
“Thank you, Mother.”
She summoned a female knight and instructed her to escort me and Liliana.
Oddly enough, the knight looked genuinely happy to receive the assignment.
◆
It took us just under two hours on foot from the estate.
We finally arrived at the orphanage I was aiming for.
I handed over a donation of about a hundred gold coins I had prepared in advance, and the headmaster kindly allowed me to look around the place.
If the game was accurate, then hidden in the basement of this orphanage was the Skill Crystal: Appraisal★.
According to the game, it should be sitting carelessly on top of a wooden crate in the storage room downstairs.
With that in mind, I waited for the right moment—slipping away from Liliana and the escort knight using Perception Disruption to hide my presence—and made my way to the basement room.
(There it is…)
Just like in the game’s graphics, it was sitting right there on top of the box.
(To think something this valuable would be left out in the open like this… what a waste.)
But I couldn’t take it back with me.
If someone noticed it was gone, it would cause trouble.
So right then and there, I activated the Skill Crystal: Appraisal★.
I closed my eyes, focused all my attention on the stone in my hand, and gripped it tightly.
As I concentrated, my palm gradually warmed up.
When I opened my eyes, the crystal had vanished—dissolving into tiny motes of light.

The skill list on my status screen now showed Appraisal★.
With that goal complete, my next stop was the church next to the orphanage.
The skill crystal stored here wasn’t something I planned to use myself—
But it was something I absolutely couldn’t allow Ars to get his hands on.
So, I’d take it first and use it up before he ever had the chance.
This particular crystal was hidden in the priest’s private room.
It was tucked away in his desk drawer.
In the game, Ars would eventually find it and learn the skill.
Apparently, this skill crystal had been purchased ages ago by the priest to mess around with a nun, but he ended up forgetting all about it and just left it sitting there.
Naturally, I went to claim it.
I used Perception Disruption to sneak into the priest’s room, then Lockpicking to unlock the door.
While I was at it, I used Lockpicking again to open the desk drawer and took out the hidden Skill Crystal: Art of Intimacy★.
Let’s confirm it with the Appraisal★ I just learned.
Skill Crystal: Art of Intimacy★
As expected—it was the skill crystal I’d been looking for.
I gripped the crystal tightly and focused my mind on it.

I checked my status screen and confirmed that Art of Intimacy★ had been successfully added to my skill list.
This skill first appeared in Violation of Eternia IV.
It was mainly used in the post-clear content to take control of royal women—
A skill that, through intimate acts, could forcibly induce a kind of brainwashing known as pleasure fall.
Without this high-force skill, those scenes with royal women couldn’t proceed smoothly.
Though, even with it, Princess Fina remained the sole exception—she never completely gave in.
As for the other skill, Appraisal★, it had been in the series since the very first game.
It was used to analyze people, monsters, and items.
Once it reached Unique Skill level, it could reveal incredibly detailed personal information—likes, preferences, kinks, turn-ons, even erogenous zones.
(Let’s try it out and see.)
On the way back after picking up both skill crystals, I decided to test Appraisal★ on Liliana.

──
Third daughter of Viscount Logroles.
Born from a concubine.
Graduated from the Third Academy.
Despite many marriage proposals, she turned all of them down.
Loves sweets.
Dislikes children.
Has a habit of exposing herself, often pleasuring herself outdoors late at night.
Frequently goes without underwear, even while on duty.
───
I didn’t expect to see this much detail…
Sure, you could view all this in the game, but actually knowing it in real life was seriously shocking.
Liliana never appeared in the game, so she’s someone I knew absolutely nothing about.
Honestly, I had a lot to say about what I saw—but for her sake, I decided not to bring up any of it.
There’s no way I could tell her what I just learned using this skill.
Her class was Scout, and her stats were pretty high.
Even if her preferences and erogenous zones were a surprise, her affection toward me was super low.
In this world, learning just two magic elements is already difficult.
It depends on your aptitude, so not everyone can master everything.
Still… only 2 affection points?
She’d absolutely slit my throat if she got the chance.
It’s probably things like this that led Sidol to being expelled from the academy in the first place.
She even had some dangerous skills worth keeping an eye on.
After that, I spent several days collecting more skill crystals in between classes.
These were the ones I especially wanted to max out to Unique Skill level:
Skill Crystal: Perception Disruption★
Skill Crystal: Presence Detection★
Skill Crystal: Chant Omission★
These three skills were ones I absolutely didn’t want Ars to get his hands on.
Chant Omission★ wasn’t really useful to him, but letting him use Perception Disruption★ or Presence Detection★ would only put me at risk.
Originally, I thought I’d just hang on to the crystals in case I couldn’t learn the skills myself—
But thankfully, I managed to absorb all three successfully.
After that, I decided to train even harder so I wouldn’t fall behind my personal maid.
Using Appraisal★, I disguised my name, stats, and skills.
Now that the skill had reached Unique-level, no one could see through my fake identity.
I registered at the Adventurer’s Guild using the name Tasuku, pretending to be a commoner.
From there, I started grinding in local dungeons, leveling up bit by bit.
A year passed since I became an adventurer.
Now in my second year of elementary division, I’d finally built up a decent level.
And now… there was one item I had to get no matter what.
Last Leaf.
An item that let you survive any attack with 1 HP as long as you had at least 2.
A life-saving, one-time-use item that only appeared in the very first game.
You could only get one.
And I knew exactly who I wanted to give it to—an old friend from childhood.
It was hidden in a secret room on a shallow floor of a high-level dungeon.
The monsters there were all around level 30, so I needed to get my level to at least 20 before I could even try.
To get strong enough, I had to sneak out of the house and dive into dungeons over and over—even if it meant getting scolded by my parents each time.
That’s how I kept leveling up.
Right now, I’m at Level 21.
The dungeon I was aiming for was located east of the capital—a full day’s walk if I used Body Enhancement from Non-Elemental Magic.
Thanks to Sidol’s natural talent for magic, my MP was practically limitless.
Even using Body Enhancement nonstop for an entire day wouldn’t drain it.
That morning, with the sky just starting to lighten, I left a short note on the dining table and quietly slipped out of the mansion.
After all, I’d be gone for three full days.
I could already imagine the chaos that little note would cause back home.
It tugged at my heart a bit, but more than anything, I just couldn’t stand the thought of letting her die.
And so, I arrived at the Level 30 dungeon: East Hill Tower.
It looked like a five-floor tower from the outside.
You’d wonder how a tower could even have a secret room—but the hidden chamber wasn’t above ground.
It was underground.
The monsters that lived here? Mostly orcs.
With my current stats, physical attacks weren’t strong enough to hurt them.
I’d have to rely on magic.
As I carefully advanced through the dungeon, I used Presence Detection★ to sense the monsters lurking ahead.
The door leading to the underground levels wouldn’t open at first, so I had to start clearing the upper floors.
I fought my way through several orcs and finally defeated the floor boss on the fifth floor—a High Orc.
From him, I got the key to the basement.
I returned to the first floor and stepped into the depths below.
In the underground levels, besides orcs, lizardmen also started to appear.
And just like before, they could only be damaged using magic.
But I’m Sidol.
When it comes to magic, no one beats me.
Still, this wasn’t a playground.
My goal was only on the first basement floor, so I planned to grab the item quickly and get out.
The dungeon had 20 basement levels in total, starting with monsters at level 35 on B1F, and ending with a level 60 floor boss deep below.
Defeating that final boss would reward me with the Skill Crystal: Multi-Casting★, which lets you cast multiple different spells at the same time.
Definitely not something I wanted Ars to ever get his hands on.
But that boss was on a demon lord level.
No one alive right now could defeat it.
I figured I’d come back for it later—after I got expelled from the academy and had more time to level up.
Back to the mission.
After exploring B1F for a while, I finally found the hidden room.
Before opening the chest, I prepared a few things.
Opening it would break a seal and trigger the appearance of a level 40 Death Knight.
Since it was an undead-type enemy, Light magic was the best way to handle it.
I used delayed-cast light magic spells and set them up in advance.
As long as I staggered the activation timing, I could technically cast multiple spells at once.
I had high magical aptitude and practically unlimited MP, so I could spam flashy spells without a problem.
Getting to go full “I’m OP as hell!” mode felt amazing.
I placed eight glowing orbs of light around the room.
Tried placing a ninth, but it didn’t appear.
Guess eight was the current limit.
Once everything was ready, I opened the treasure chest.
“GIIIIIEEEEEESHHHAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH—!!”
A swirling black vortex appeared, and from it emerged a shadowy figure—a Death Knight, clad in armor, holding a sword and shield.
It was just as the game had shown.
With my current stats, I couldn’t beat it in strength or speed.
But that didn’t matter.
I could cast magic far more powerful than its resistance could handle—again and again.
The glowing orbs I’d placed were light-elemental trap spells.
They lit up the small room with radiant particles, flooding every corner in glittering brightness.
For an undead like the Death Knight, that light acted like a burning mist—slowly but steadily causing continuous damage.
Each orb’s effect lasted about 30 seconds.
The steady damage made the Death Knight flinch repeatedly.
Being undead, it was weak to both light and fire spells.
Every time it took a hit from its weakness, its movement stalled, making it impossible to use its usual swift attacks.
Even with its movements slowed, the Death Knight still swung its sword at me during the gaps between damage ticks.
But its flinch-interrupted swings lacked real force.
I could see them coming.
I used earth magic to summon a shield and caught the strike head-on.
CLAAAAANG!
I barely managed to block the first strike.
But the second shattered my earth magic shield like it was nothing.
Only three seconds had passed since the Death Knight appeared.
Each of the eight light-trap spells I set up dealt 80 HP damage per second.
With eight of them, that’s 640 HP per second.
The Death Knight had 5100 HP.
So in theory, it would die in eight seconds.
But surviving those eight seconds was the real problem—and it had only been three.
I summoned another shield.
Since I knew one shield could take a hit, I just had to dodge after each blow, then quickly cast another the moment it raised its sword again.
After ten long seconds, the Death Knight finally turned to ash.
I had blocked over twenty sword strikes.
If the light-based slip damage hadn’t been working, I’d have been hit way more.
Even with chantless casting, there was a limit to how fast I could keep up.
Near the end, I had to start summoning two shields at once just to stay alive.
The extra two seconds it took probably meant the trap damage didn’t tick as hard that time.
That was the longest and most intense ten seconds of my life—even longer than the day-and-a-half it took to walk here from the mansion.
God, that was brutal.
My heart was still pounding like crazy.
I reached into the treasure chest and pulled out a golden brooch—the legendary item [Last Leaf].
I used [Appraisal★] to check.
Yup, it was the real thing.
And as a bonus, my level had gone up by two.
After that, I made my way back the way I came.
The level 35 orcs that appeared on the first basement floor felt much weaker now.
Well, of course they did—I’d just fought a Death Knight.
That was the most nerve-wracking battle I’d ever been in.
It was exactly what you’d call a true life-or-death fight.
Once I returned to the first floor, I locked the door leading to the basement.
I decided to keep the key on me from now on.
Someday, I’d come back and claim the [Skill Crystal: Multi-Casting★].
[Multi-Casting★] was a powerful skill that let you use multiple spells or skills at the same time.
There was no way I’d let the protagonist or his allies get their hands on it.
In the game, you were supposed to equip [Last Leaf] here and use it to survive the final boss at the lowest floor.
The boss had a devastating non-elemental magic move that could only be survived if you had [Last Leaf] equipped.
If you didn’t have it, you’d need a powerful barrier spell called [Mighty Guard], which could only be learned by raising non-elemental magic to level 8.
But that, in turn, required leveling all six elemental magics to level 8 first.
And in the entire four-game series, only one person was capable of casting all six elements at level 2 or higher—Sidol Meltrix.
I am Sidol Meltrix.
Yes, that Sidol Meltrix—with doting, overprotective parents.
When I finally returned home the next evening, just as the sun began to set, I got chewed out by my father Dorm Meltrix and cried on by my mother Sheena Meltrix Eternia.
And as punishment, I was forced to sleep in my mother’s room—for several nights.
It was rough.
