Reincarnated as the Final Boss of an Eroge, but I Just Want a Peaceful Life After the Game Ends - Chapter 00: Prologue
Prologue
“Vile usurper! Surrender the throne and release Princess Fina at once!”
That sharp voice echoed in my head as a sword was pointed straight at me by none other than Ars—the so-called Hero.
A commoner by birth, but full of righteousness, good looks, and incredibly popular with the ladies.
At least, in this world.
Hero Ars had barged into the castle with a whole entourage of women behind him.
He cut down countless guards and even the kingdom’s strongest knight, making his way to the audience chamber.
“Sidol! What do you think you’re even accomplishing with all this!?”
That voice came from Luna Faustler, the woman who was supposed to be my fiancée.
Sidol—that’s my name.
Sidol Meltrix. Heir to House Meltrix, one of the great ducal families.
Or rather, I was.
I got expelled from the academy, stripped of my status, and even exiled from the royal capital.
Luna was a noble lady herself, also born to a duke’s family.
“What I’m accomplishing—? You really think you can ask me that? Don’t act innocent. You’ve trampled on commoners too—everyone except that guy beside you. Hypocrite. You filthy backstabbing bitch!”
I rose from the throne, but Luna cut me off before I could say more.
“That’s not the same! Ars is special! He’s nothing like trash like you. Oh right, you were cast out and reduced to a commoner, weren’t you? Die here like the fool you are and give the throne to Ars. A halfwit like you ruling this kingdom would be a tragedy for the people. That’s why I’ll protect them—together with Ars!”
With enough force to make a sharp snap in the air, Luna pointed her finger at me.
Then Ars calmly held her back with his left hand and raised his voice, strong and dignified, across the chamber.
“I’ll protect the Kingdom of Eternia—for Luna’s sake too! And to do that, I’ll strike down this filthy piece of trash—right here and now!”
Ars declared it with full hero flair.
Luna looked at him with dreamy, lovestruck eyes, and a few beautiful girls stood admiringly behind her.
They were all splattered with blood, clear proof of the guards they’d cut down to reach this place.
Of course, I was drenched in blood too.
Behind Ars stood another girl, glaring at me sharply.
Saintess Hanna.
A commoner, but she had been hailed as a prodigy by the Church ever since she was a child, with overwhelming power as a saintess.
There were even more beautiful girls by Ars’s side, all raising swords, staves, spears, and axes against me.
I couldn’t lose to that.
I had to change everything—starting from right here!
The future would be mine!
That’s why—!
“I’m not giving up this throne! I’m going to reshape this kingdom exactly the way I want it! It belongs to me now! And the very first step—!”
I drew my sword and matched it against the blade pointed at me by the so-called hero.
“Ars! I’ll judge you myself!”
With a snap, I thrust my blade toward Ars and struck a dramatic pose.
It was so cool, it felt like I could see a comic-style BOOM pop up behind me.
“Don’t make me laugh! Weaklings shouldn’t act tough! Just die already!”
Honestly, that line didn’t sound like something a justice-loving hero would say.
Ars kicked off the marble floor and lunged at me.
I stepped aside effortlessly and brought my blade down toward his neck.
Thud.
With a dull sound, Ars’s head and arm were severed clean off, spraying blood as his body collapsed to the ground.
The girls standing behind him trembled in fear, frozen in place.
I picked up his head by the hair, lifted it high above my head, and declared:
“The traitor Ars has been slain!”
My voice echoed through the audience chamber.
“Ars! Ars—!”
“Lord Ars! Lord Aaaaaars!”
“Ars—!”
The cries of the girls rang throughout the castle.
This was my first step.
The beginning of my story as someone reincarnated as the weak final boss of an eroge.
While the girls wept on the blood-soaked floor, I quietly sat back down on the throne.
◆
Violation of Eternia.
It was a legendary eroge that first released when I was still in middle school.
Despite being an eroge, it hit a million sales right out of the gate and became a franchise.
The first three titles all sold over a million copies each.
The series grew so popular that even console versions—with the adult content removed—were released, along with countless spin-offs.
It had a massive fanbase and became a cultural phenomenon.
And just recently, the PC version of the newest title dropped: Violation of Eternia IV – The Founding of the Ars Kingdom.
It was truly a masterpiece.
Unlike the third entry, which was a traditional command-based RPG, this new one was a full-blown action RPG.
While it had far fewer skills and spells, it made up for it with a bunch of player-friendly features, earning high praise from fans.
The only downside was that, despite introducing this great new system, they labeled it the final chapter—so it probably wouldn’t continue. That part felt like a real waste.
The story kicked off with the series protagonist, Hero Ars, reuniting with Luna Faustler—the fiancée of Sidol Meltrix, the arrogant, fat nobleman he expelled from the academy in the first game.
The game followed Ars’s rise to the throne and ended with him becoming king.
While some heroines, including Luna, didn’t have adult scenes until the post-game, there were still plenty of steamy events with NPCs.
Thanks to that, a lot of fans ended up… well, “exhausted” early on.
And once you finished the main story and Ars became king, the real fun began.
The game entered “Eternal Mode,” where the heroines—previously untouched—finally unleashed their full seductive potential.
It was a total masterpiece designed to keep players… very busy.
“Man… just once, I’d love to live the harem life, surrounded by all those cute heroines…”
Even if I wished for it, something like that would never happen in real life.
I was the classic introvert.
Sure, I was a pretty decent engineer, but when it came to people, I was a total loner who never really fit in.
And after a certain session left me all dried out, I figured I might as well hit the convenience store for a drink.
(Alright, let’s go.)
But the moment I stood up, my vision twisted and warped like a bad funhouse mirror.
(Ugh, that feels awful…)
The very next moment—
My sight faded to black, and my consciousness slipped away.
◆
When I came to—
“Sidol! My Sidol—!”
I heard someone calling me. A woman’s voice—probably my mom’s.
Apparently, I wasn’t Tasuku Takamura anymore.
(That was one long, weirdly realistic dream.)
In that dream, I had lived in a totally different world.
I tried to recall it again.
The scenery from that other world came flooding back, crisp and vivid in my mind.
And I realized something.
I had been reincarnated as a child named Sidol.
It looked like my mother had come to wake me up while I was still in bed.
“Good morning, Dear. You were groaning in your sleep—are you alright?”
“Good morning, Mother. I’m perfectly fine.”
“Oh my, what a lovely reply. That’s a relief. You had me worried, sleeping in like that when breakfast is ready. Now, come on. Let’s eat.”
It was the time I usually woke up.
Or at least, it should’ve been.
Maybe that dream kept me from waking up properly.
Even now, memories that don’t feel like mine were still swirling around in my head.
I was Sidol Meltrix, the eldest son of the Duke Dorm Meltrix, head of House Meltrix.
My mother was Sheena Meltrix Eternia.
Apparently, she had married into the Meltrix family from the royal family.
And me?
I had just turned two.
“Such a lovely reply.”
That’s what my mother had said earlier.
Which made me think—maybe the usual Sidol would’ve just mumbled something like “Mmm… Mama…” instead.
But now, my memories as Tasuku Takamura—someone completely different—were all tangled up with Sidol’s.
I guess you’d call that my past life’s memories.
Sidol’s personality was still the core, but Tasuku Takamura ’s thoughts, memories, and values were now mixing in with it.
And from Tasuku’s perspective… when I looked at my mom—
She was insanely pretty.
Like, she looked no older than a high school girl.
And yet she was my mother? What the hell!?
As I stood there stunned, deep in thought, she tilted her head and looked into my face curiously.
“What’s wrong, Dear? Come, let’s go.”
I wasn’t sure if it was going to be a little brother or sister, but my mom—who was clearly pregnant—stood up with a soft grunt and gently took my hand.
Once I got out of bed, a group of mature-looking maids came over to help me get dressed.
Still… Sidol Meltrix, huh?
And I was only two years old.
Wait a second.
Could this be that game?
If the memories of Tasuku Takamura were correct, I should be able to open the status screen—just like in the game.
I imagined the in-game status screen in my mind… and sure enough, a faint, flat screen appeared in my field of vision.
It was the status window.
Name: Sidol Meltrix
Gender: Male Age: 2
Class: None
Level: 1
HP: 100
MP: 200
VIT: 5
STR: 5
DEX: 5
AGI: 5
INT: 10
MND: 10
I guess this was normal for a two-year-old.
In the game—Violation of Eternia IV—Sidol Meltrix was way stronger.
Still, he was always mocked as the weakest final boss in the series.
And looking at these stats, yeah… that sounded about right.
In the first Violation of Eternia, Sidol was level 3.
In part IV, he showed up at level 60.
That meant I could raise my level if I trained.
And if the name “Sidol Meltrix” really meant that version of him… then I was fated to die at seventeen, killed by Ars.
No one in their right mind would just sit around waiting to die when they knew it was coming.
There was something else, too—one more memory I couldn’t forget.
When Sidol first appeared in Violation of Eternia, he was an unbearably fat guy.
And now that I’d been born into this household, I understood why.
I was being raised in a ridiculously pampered environment.
Not just Mom— even the maids were feeding me breast milk left and right, fattening me up like a mochi ball.
Now that I had full awareness, I didn’t need breast milk anymore.
No more overeating. No more overdrinking. And I’d start moving my body more.
I couldn’t let myself become the same Sidol Meltrix from Tasuku Takamura’s memories.
Now that my memories had returned—however that happened—I started thinking seriously about how I wanted to live this life.
And then… I began putting that plan into action.
