- Chap 7 - The Aftermath of Najaggi's Defeat: Reassurances and Surprises
After completing the quest, Nathan’s party returned to the guild.
Yumina was still upset that her plan hadn’t worked and also Nathan had to use such powerful magic.
When Nathan saw Yumina’s head droop, he tried to reassure her, “I already said that it’s not your fault; it’s normal to make mistakes.”
“No, I mean… well…” Yumina trailed off, unable to finish what she intended to say.
“You weren’t the only person who did something wrong. I also did something wrong. If I hadn’t been so desperate to throw the potion anyway, we might not have needed Nathan as much,” Yuuki tried to console Yumina.
Yumina wasn’t the only one who was sad. Yuuki was upset too, because he thought he had done something very wrong.
“None of you did anything wrong. It’s just that Najaggi was so connected to nature that it was impossible to separate it from nature so easily,” Nathan tried to explain.
“But that wasn’t in the book I read,” Yumina said, looking confused.
“What book did you read?” Merentiel asked.
“Guide to the Beasts, written by Brian.”
“That’s why you didn’t see it. Even I know that book has been out of date for a long time. The book you should have read is the one written by Hyde.”
“B..but.”
“Calm down, Meren; that’s a common mistake that new adventurers make,” Nathan tried to calm everyone down.
“A beginner’s error? If I knew, how was it a beginner’s mistake?”
“It’s natural to make that mistake.”
“Nope, it ‘s not.”
“Don’t argue, please. You’re making her nervous,” said Shizuku.
Mere kept arguing until he finally gave up.
“Okay, then let’s get started. We’ve got a lot to do today.”
After that, everyone went to the guild manager to sell Najaggi’s body.
The body’s price has decreased to 35 golds for being damaged.
After taking out all of the fees and the fine for destroying the forest, they got 31 gold.
They didn’t have to pay extra gold because they didn’t use guild service to get the monster’s body. Instead, they used Nathan’s storage spell to get it back.
While they were waiting for the guildmaster to process their request, Nathan continued to uplift his party.
He told Yumina and Yuuki about the times he failed, showing that everyone could fail at some point.
And he explained how he overcame those failures.
At first, they thought he was exaggerating. But eventually, they realized that he wasn’t lying.
“I think I understand now,” Yumina said.
Yuuki nodded in agreement.
When the guild master finished processing the paperwork, Nathan handed over the gold to cover the damage.
“Thank you for your hard work,” the guild master said, giving them a handshake. “Now, I’ll take care of the rest.”
“We’ll be leaving now,” Nathan said.
Then they left the guild, going to one side to buy something they needed for their home. They stopped by the general store, where they bought food and other necessary items.
As soon as they walked outside the store, they heard the sound of bells ringing.
A church bell rang three times, followed by another four. Then came six, nine, twelve, eighteen…
Every second, the number of rings increased. Eventually, they reached twenty-four.
This bell was usually used to let people know when someone important was coming. It signaled that a high ranking priest or an adventurer had arrived in the city.
Nathan checked the time. There weren’t any special events happening, so it must have been the arrival of a high-ranking adventurer.
The church bell sounded again, signaling that the person who’d entered town was close to arriving at the inn where they planned to stay overnight.
“Let ‘s hurry!” Nathan suggested.
Everyone agreed and followed him toward the gate.

Once they passed through the gates, Nathan noticed several priests standing along the street. Each wore pure white robes and carried holy symbols with them.
There were too many to count, but the ones closest to the entrance of their house appeared to be looking for him.
“Ahhh…” Nathan muttered.
His group stood still, watching as the priests surrounded them. One of them pointed at Nathan.
“You are the person that adventurer has been looking for,” he shouted.
Nathan turned around slowly.
“Who?”
“Me!”
An orc girl opened the door before Nathan could finish his question, her muscles bulging through her feminine dress.
“Finally, my dear hero Nathan, I found you again!” As she jumped up to hug Nathan, she screamed.
