- Please Don’t Let the Woman in Front of Me Cry - My Yandere Subordinate and the Three Idiotic Magical Girls Should Stay Out of My Way
- Chapter 41/42 - Scared~/ Sanity Restored
The magical girl of light firmly secured the Boss to her body and attempted a desperate escape from the Subordinate.
Caught off guard by the magical girl’s sudden movement, the Subordinate was momentarily taken aback. However, she quickly regained her composure, chased after the light, magical girl who disappeared downstairs with incredible speed, and soon caught sight of her again.
“I will not hand over the Boss to someone like you.”
While feeling an enormous amount of murderous intent from behind, the magical girl of light desperately ran through the hallway, using every trick in the book—drifting, wall jumping—to escape from her Subordinate.
But the Subordinate was relentless, never losing sight of the magical girl of light.
The magical girl of light kept running to protect the Boss from her Subordinate, and then… she began to question why she was running so hard.
She was a magical girl, and he led an evil organization. They were never meant to be together, and eventually, the Boss might stop caring about her, retire from being a villain, and never meet again.
Thinking such thoughts, she nearly stopped running. Yet, her legs kept moving. In her mind, she weakly smiled.
Had she lost control over her body to her instincts? As that child had said, was she no better than livestock?
As darkness swelled in her heart, something within the magical girl of light seemed to ignite. Wrapped in dark emotions, she continued her desperate run.
Finally reaching the door leading outside, the magical girl of light contemplated taking the regressed Boss away to make him hers alone.
If they couldn’t be together, perhaps she should hide the Boss somewhere where they would never be found…
The moment she entertained such a possibility, an alien brushed past the edge of her vision. The presence of a third party snapped the magical girl of light back to reality.
She felt embarrassed, realizing she had been attempting to escape with the enemy’s Boss on all fours.
Meanwhile, the alien took a break after using telekinesis to safely land the unconscious men in black suits who had fallen from the window.
The sudden appearance of the light, magical girl of light on all fours carrying the Boss excited the alien.
The alien thought something marvelous would happen, focusing intently on the magical girl as he gulped his apple juice.
Then, in the next moment, a Subordinate, unable to contain her murderous intent, burst through the door, charging at the magical girl.
The magical girl of light fled, and the Subordinate pursued her. In the open space outside, their chase intensified further.
Bending dimensions humans couldn’t possibly bend, the magical girl of light tried to escape, with the Subordinate determined not to let her go.
To the alien, this otherworldly scene was simply laughable.
Suddenly, the magical girl and Subordinate stopped in their tracks. Why? The alien focused all his attention on them.
The reason became clear quickly.
The Boss was crying.
“I’m scared~.”
Crying out in fear, the Boss brought all conflict to a halt. The magical girl of light set the Boss down on the ground, still crying.
The Subordinate apologized, petting the Boss’s head, while the magical girl of light conjured warm light with her magic, continuing to shine it on the Boss, who still wouldn’t stop crying.
Watching them, the alien reached his limit of patience and burst into laughter. After a good laugh, the alien looked back at them.
The three were once again playing horse. This time, they were getting along well: the magical girl of light acted as the horse, the Subordinate supported the Boss, and the Boss rode with a smile.
Something broke inside the alien. Her expression softened. Beyond laughter, she was filled with a divine feeling.
Then, the alien looked up at the sky, which was unfortunately cloudy. She thought the clouds were in the way.
She cleared the clouds in a circle using her telekinesis, allowing light to shine down on the Boss at the center.
The alien pointed to the circle’s center and quietly closed her eyes.
She was praying for something.
And then, a few minutes later, Aiz arrived.
◆
The magical girl transformed into a horse, and the regressed Boss rode atop her. The Subordinate supported the Boss. Witnessing such a tender scene, the alien cleared the pesky clouds from the sky and offered a prayer.
Aiz witnessed this dangerously bizarre spectacle. Even for someone as high-functioning as she, the scene was shocking.
“What in the world is going on here?!”
She screamed with all the electricity in her system.
Her voice echoed through distant mountains, crossed seas, and became the wind.
Hearing her voice, everyone momentarily halted their actions and took the time to view themselves objectively.
The first to move was the Boss. Regaining his sanity from Aiz’s voice, he calmly assessed his memories and the situation.
His last memory was of a fierce clash with the Subordinate and their heads colliding. Now, he straddled the red magical girl, engaging in a game of horsey.
His sharp mind, befitting the leader of an evil organization, judged everything and concluded. He had regressed to a childlike state.
The Boss immediately dismounted from the horse. Stretching mightily, he turned away, careful not to look anyone in the face.
“Well, now that the evacuation drill is over, let’s return to our duties.”
He muttered to himself so that everyone present could hear. The others awkwardly voiced their agreement as if convincing themselves.
The Boss, the Subordinate, and the alien trudged back inside their hideout. The red magical girl hurriedly left through the gate.
Left behind and utterly confused, Aiz followed the Boss and the others.
“By the way, was there any work left to do?”
The Boss knocked the sand out of his shoes and entered the hideout.
“Speaking of which, it seems that person has completed that thing, so we should go check it out.”
The Subordinate bought a sports drink from the vending machine inside the hideout. She bought three bottles and tossed one each to the Boss and the alien.
The Boss and the alien sipped their sports drinks while slowly settling onto the sofa inside the hideout. Aiz began connecting to a nearby outlet.
A heavy atmosphere hung between the three. The Boss scratched his head slightly. The alien sank deeper into the sofa, and the Subordinate whistled softly.
“So, what exactly happened after that?”
The Boss finally broke the silence. Aiz looked at the three with keen interest.
“Ah… Well, it was very cute.”
The Subordinate, rubbing her tired eyes, seemed to reminisce about something.
“It was something truly wonderful.”
“Though it completely threw off our pace,” the alien answered with a smile.
Somehow, the Boss’s memories of that time began to resurface faintly. He remembered himself, untainted by corruption, playing horsey with the red magical girl.
The Boss chided his regressed self for not being the horse. He decided to save this regret for the next time he might regress.
“Then, Subordinate, let’s head over to that person’s place for now.”
The Boss stood up and glanced at the clock and out the window.
“Understood.”
Switching back to work mode, the Subordinate responded.
“And, alien and Aiz, please take care of them.”
The Boss pointed to the men in black suits lying outside.
“Understood.”
“Sure thing.”
Aiz and the alien hurried off to attend to the men in black.
“Shall we go then?”
The Boss began walking toward the door, step by step. The Subordinate stopped him and patted his head.
The Boss seemed to want to say something but allowed himself to be patted.
“This is fine.”
The Subordinate smiled a bit sadly and hurried ahead. The Boss followed her.
