- Chapter 3 - The Boss and the Subordinate
Footsteps and a heavy murderous intent could be heard.
The boss knew exactly who was emitting these signals.
Trying to suppress the trembling, he calmly resettled himself on the sofa.
From the back closet, a hostage girl peered at the boss with anxiety.
With an awkward smile, the boss brought his index finger to his lips.
Knock, knock, knock.
A soft knocking sound, contrasting the tension, could be heard.
“Come in,” said the boss.
As the door opened, a black shadow darted towards the boss at tremendous speed.
“Bossーーーー!!!”
Leaving her voice behind, the one who hugged the boss was a cute girl of the same height as the hostage girl.
“Ah, Subordinate-sama.”
The boss replied calmly.
Considering the way the boss addressed her and her clothing, which was the same as the men in black who had brought her, this girl must also be a member of the organization.
The girl was astonished to find someone her age in this organization.
However, her astonishment didn’t end there.
Hugging the boss, the subordinate whispered in his ear.
“Eh, Boss? When we’re alone, you said…
…to call you ‘Subordinate-sama,’ didn’t you?”
“Yes!!!! Subordinate-sama!”
Before the girl could process her second shock, the boss responded loudly.
The scene unfolding before the girl’s eyes was bizarre.
What kind of relationship did these two have?
Curiosity slightly outweighed her shock as she paid more attention to them.
“Hmm, I wonder if because you didn’t call me ‘sama’ from the start, there’s someone other than the boss in this room?”
While speaking, she casually drew out a gun.
The girl desperately suppressed the scream about to escape her.
“No, Subordinate-sama. There’s no such thing.”
Though he said so, it was clear to the subordinate that she had been found out.
The boss frantically thought of a strategy.
However, he couldn’t stop the subordinate.
“Hmm, maybe here?”
“There…!!”
Before the boss could finish speaking, the subordinate fired at the closet without hesitation.
Though the sturdy closet was unscathed, the girl inside was drained of strength from the terror of the impact.
The closet opened, and the girl emerged, kneeling on the floor with tears in her eyes.
“Ah, I knew it. So, you were hiding something like this here, Boss.”
It was over. The girl thought.
A real bullet lay before her eyes.
She never imagined she would be shot in this peaceful country…
Engulfed in sorrow, the girl saw no way out.
The subordinate continued.
“I love the Boss, but it’s unfortunate.
I’ll have to discipline you to ensure this doesn’t happen again. Your response?”
“Yes!!!!”
The boss responded loudly.
All the while, the boss was desperately thinking.
There must be some way out.
Reminding himself of this…
“That’s right, you there. Unfortunately, we only need the two of us in this space.”
The subordinate aimed the gun at the girl.
“I’m going to kill you.”
This was truly the end.
The girl tightly closed her eyes, waiting for the final moment.
Then, it happened.
“WAOーーーーーーーーーーーーN”
A dog’s cry was heard.
From inside this room.
Of course, the source was the boss.
With that momentum, the boss ran on all fours towards the subordinate and frolicked with the gun.
The subordinate, caught off guard, patted his head, saying, “Good boy.”
This ability allowed one to stand at the top of the organization.
An extraordinary dog impersonation.
The ability to calm a person’s anger by mimicking a dog’s form.
The girl felt an unexpected sense of admiration.
The boss didn’t stop. After frolicking with the subordinate, he opened a different safe, not the one with the postcards.
Inside was a red collar.
He grabbed it with his mouth and brought it to the subordinate.
“Ah? Do you want to go for a walk?”
The subordinate asked in a gentle tone.
“Woof!!!!!!”
As if saying he wanted to go for a walk, the boss let out a dog’s bark.
While circling the subordinate, feeling relieved for having saved the girl for the moment, the boss recalled the past incident that led to such a relationship with the subordinate.
