Please Do Not Say “I Love You” To Me - 5 - Unwelcome Visitor
“Hello there, Hiroki-kun.”
In front of me is a person that I never expect to show up at this day, and it’s none other than Shiori herself, wearing an expensive-looking winter outfit.
“Uhhh…”
“What? Is it that surprising that I visited you here?”
“No, more importantly, I am more curious on how you know my address in the first place.” Even though we’ve been acquainted with each other for a while, I’ve never told her where I lived, which makes me wonder.
“Fufu, don’t underestimate the power of the Student Council President.”
You should use that power in a most good way possible please…
“Anyways, why the sudden visit?” I asked.
“Here.” she says while passing an expensive looking gift bag at her hand.
“Hiroki, what took you so long out there– Oh, we have a visitor.” A feminine voice can be heard at my back, and it was my mom. She must’ve worried on why I took so long to go back inside.
“Good evening Mrs. Ishikawa. I apologize for the sudden visit.” Shori says this while bowing in front of Mom.
“My, my Hiroki, I didn’t know you already had a girlfriend.” my mom told me with a teasing tone.
“Hate to break it to you Mom, but our relationship is not what you think. She’s just a friend of mine in school. Anyways, This is Kawamoto Shiroi. Shori, my mom.”
I let the two of them introduce to each other.
“What are doing to a poor girl like her, letting her stay outside while it’s cold? Let her come inside.” Mom told me.
“Ah no, I shouldn’t be staying here a long—”
“Please, I insist. And we were just having a dinner tonight, so why not join us?”
Shiroi looks at me with a hesitant look on her face.
“When Mom goes like that, she’s unstoppable.” I told Shiori.
“Then, I’ll be coming in.”
Shiroi comes in inside of our house. Mom takes her to the dining room while coming along with her. Mayu looks a bit shocked.
“Big bro, why is the Student Council President in our house? No, more importantly, how did you even managed to be friends with her?”
“Less talk, more hospitality to our guest okay?” I abruptly cut off the topic so as to not lead any further.
“We’ll definitely have a long talk later, Big bro.” says Mayu while serving rice to our esteemed guest. Oh god, not the “Mayu Interrogation.” Whenever she finds a rather intriguing topic, you’ll be bombarded with lots and lots of questions, just like being interrogated by the police, and I don’t like being questioned. How am I gonna play my new game peacefully?
“I apologize for the small amount of food we have here on our table. Had you called my Hiroki-kun earlier, and I could’ve prepared a much fancier dish.” says my mom while putting one of her hands on her face with a frown. The dish present is none other than fried pork and chicken, a Caesar salad paired with a simple miso soup.
“You really don’t have to do that, Mrs. Ishikawa.”
“Here, Shiori-san, your rice bowl.” Mayu passes the bowl in front of Shiroi. The four of us sit down at the table, and we continue where we left off. We chatter, chuckle, and giggle with small conversations, just like your average family would do.
While eating, Shiori stares at us with a blank expression.
“Uh, Shiori? What’s wrong?”
“Wow, you even call her using her first name. I am now more interested in your relationship, Big Bro.” Mayu interrupts, but I ignore her.
“Uhm… It’s the first time I’ve been at this… gathering, so I don’t know how I should feel.”
“Where are your parents, Shiroi-san?” I ask.
“Two of them went abroad with their who-knows-what science project in Sweden. I’m the only one that stays here,” Shiori says with a sullen expression.
Oh wow, that took a gloomy turn. I shouldn’t have asked that, damn.
“Well, you can stay here anytime you want as our beloved guest. Right Hiroki?” My mom tells me.
“Yeah, well, that is IF you want to.” I replied. Well, she’s always welcome here anyways if she decided to come here again.
After that, we go back to our very delightful dinner. For some reason, Shiori smiles a little bit.
