Vol 1 Chapter 51 – Date in the Triangle Site【Vol 1 – Turning Point】
Once everything’s sold out, we’ll put up a “Sold Out” sign at the booth and then it’s free time.
We only had a little time left, but I wandered around nearby with Michiru-san. The Akiba Music Corps’ booth was on the music area’s side closest to the VTuber section. From there, we toured the VTuber area.
I’d noticed it ever since we were at the Akiba Music Corps’ booth: sometimes I’m there too. And by “I,” I mean the cosplayer of Akiba Rin. Cosplaying as Akiba Rin is pretty straightforward: wear a Gothic Lolita outfit from clockchild or DarkAlice, carry a guitar, and people recognize you as Akiba Rin. That’s because thanks to Michiru-san, I can swap outfits in 3D on the fly. Plus, Kaede-san has licensed clockchild’s and DarkAlice’s dresses. So I have a really extensive wardrobe.
“That’s Michi×Rin cosplay, right!?”
Yes, someone at the booth called out to us, and we both looked over without thinking.
“Huh!? The real ones!?”
Yes—we weren’t the cosplayers; we were the originals. The ones being cosplayed.
I don’t know if Michiru-san’s face is known, but my appearance is already famous. I’ve been in magazines, I’ve done face-reveal streams, and my model looks just like me.
“What kind of books are you putting out?”
Michiru-san asked the creator.
The creator was a woman, and she kind of gave off a Tachibana-chan vibe.
“It’s a pure-love Michi×Rin book…”
The creator looked really embarrassed.
I glanced at the booth’s table. In the illustration, I was clinging to Michi Mama and… well, kissing her of my own accord.
“hawawawawawa…”
“hawawawawawa…”
Our two embarrassed voices overlapped: hers for being caught by the originals, and mine for seeing that lewd cover.
I never was told that if you become a VTuber, people would make doujinshi about you.
But Michiru-san wasn’t embarrassed at all and was reading the doujinshi.
“Yeah, it’s really lovely. Rin-kun’s cuteness is so well shown. 500 yen?”
Saying that, Michiru-san took a wallet out of the bag.
“Ah, yes.”
The creator was extremely nervous.
Michiru-san took out 500 yen and bought the doujinshi.
“Ah, thank you so much!”
“Mama thought it was really wonderful. I hope you keep doing your best.”
“Maaaaaama!”
Oh, she’s fallen.
You don’t become a fan of Michi Mama. You fall for her.
Anyway, setting that aside…
“Geez, Mama! Why would you buy such an erotic book!?”
Michiru-san and I left that booth. As we did, I fiercely protested.
Because clinging and kissing is just way too lewd.
“Huh? Mama, I thought you told me kissing isn’t lewd at all.”
“Well, that may be, but…”
Still, I’d spent my whole life thinking that was erotic. That instinct isn’t something you can easily discard.
“The really erotic stuff isn’t what Mama wants, so it’s okay!”
“The really erotic stuff?”
“Like that one…?”
Saying that, Michiru-san pointed to a sign that read: New Release: Songstress Ryoujoku.
“Ryoujoku?”
It was a word I didn’t know.
“You don’t need to know! Look over there instead!”
As she said that, she pointed to another sign: New Release: Akiba no Ongaku Shitei.
I’ve got quite a lot of doujinshi of myself.
“Hey, what’s the pairing in this one?”
“Y-yes! This is a Ryu×Rin book, where Rin-kun just learns music from Ryu-san!”
Come to think of it, I interacted with Ryu-san a lot during streams too.
“Hehe, you found out about my relationship with Ryu-kun, huh?”
“Ahaha, yeah.”
This one isn’t lewd by my standards either. There’s no hugging or anything; it’s just us singing together and practicing instruments. But my face is drawn to look completely like a girl’s.
Incidentally, Ryu-san is drawn as an androgynous, handsome older brother. You could even mistake him for a woman dressed as a man.
But it felt like it was just capturing a slice of my relationship with Ryu-san. Oddly enough, I even felt like it was watching us.
“Rin-kun, this book is great!”
“Yeah! It brings back memories of learning guitar from Ryu-san!”
That’s a somewhat precious memory for me.
“Did something like this really happen!?”
“Yes! Almost exactly as it is!”
Back when he taught me the basics of guitar, it was almost the same. The only difference was that back then, I could already play the guitar to some extent.
“Then, I’ll take one of each, please!”
Saying that, Michiru-san handed over 1,000 yen.
“Thank you for your purchase!”
There were quite a few other doujinshi of me, too. Most of them feature interactions with the Akiba household, and aside from Michi×Rin, many don’t even have romantic elements.
Another one I really liked was Umi×Rin. It depicted me as a new member of the pirate band and reminded me of the recording sessions with them. I think doujin artists are amazing. They write about my memories purely from imagination. That’s why those two volumes are treasures to me.
But as I was going through them, Michiru-san got jealous again. I mean, I think it’s only natural since the Michi×Rin book is erotic.
