Otome Game Mob Villain - Chapter 1
Chapter 1: Reincarnation

“… Where’s this?”
I woke up to an unfamiliar ceiling. It didn’t seem like my house, for starters.
I got up from the bed I was lying on and looked around, but all I saw were furniture I’d never seen before. Groping about my memories in a dazed state, I remembered that I had collapsed while waiting at a pedestrian light. Was I moved to a hospital after that? But judging by the feel of the room and its furniture, that didn’t seem to be the answer.
“Mm?”
I, I felt something off somewhere, and as I was about to get out of bed to find out what was wrong, I realized that my limbs… were short?
I thought, “No way!” and hurriedly looked into the mirror that was nearby.
I couldn’t help crying out in shock.
“Who’s this guy!?”
Reflected in the mirror was a fair face with white-silver hair and purple eyes. First of all, this definitely wasn’t me. I didn’t look so beautiful.
While I was racking my head over what was going on, though, I heard a woman’s voice from behind.
“Rid-sama, you’re awake! I’ll let everyone know right away!”
The woman who cried out upon seeing me immediately went somewhere. But more than that, I was shocked into a stupor because she had looked like a maid.
“What in the world is… Huh, Rid? … Agh!”
No sooner than I muttered to myself, a knifing pain struck my head as I felt like the experiences of someone else was mixing with mine. The world spun round in circles. I felt sick and on the verge of vomiting, but after some time, my mind cleared and settled. Then I muttered to myself, “Haah… haah… That’s right, Rid…!! I(Ore)… No, I(Boku) am Rid Baldia…!!”
◇
“Hmm, it appears nothing is wrong with your body.”
A person who seemed to be a doctor murmured that he would check the movements of my eyes, arms, legs, as well as the rest of my body.
“I think it’s nothing, but if you ever do feel something is up, please contact me right away.”
Once the checkup was over, the doctor stood up and walked out of the room.
“Rid-sama, it’s wonderful that you’re all right. But really, I thought something was wrong when you suddenly collapsed in the garden.”
Several men and women were gathered in the room where I woke up a while ago. But I couldn’t quite connect their faces and names.
With a troubled look, I said, “I’m sorry to make you worry. Uh…”
“I am Garn, the butler.”
Garn, the man who introduced himself as a butler, was a dandy-looking man appearing to be in his late forties. He had white hair, black eyes, and wore a pair of glasses.
“Sorry, I think I’m a bit confused. I apologize for the bother and for causing concern to Garn-san and everyone else.”
As I bobbed my head in a gesture of thanks, Garn and the maids behind him turned round-eyed. The surprised-looking Garn coughed dryly and put on a smile before speaking to me warmly.
“Ahem… Rid-sama, thank you for your kind words. However, you mustn’t speak that way to a butler or a maid. Please call me just Garn as always. Still, I am greatly happy about what you said.”
“Mhm, I’ll be careful about that. Thank you, Garn.”
Appearing satisfied with my reply, Garn put a bell near me and told me to let him know straight away if I needed something, then he left the room I was resting in along with the maids.
Alone in the room, I crawled into the blankets of my bed and clutched at my head, mumbling to myself. “I must’ve reincarnated in an otome game universe. And as a mob villain at that…!!”
