Chapter 19: Branded with a Possession Mark
Several hours later—
On the bed, we lay side by side.
The lights were off, moonlight slipping through the curtain gap, faintly illuminating Towa’s profile.
“Hey, when it’s just us, call me Towa, okay?”
She giggled softly.
“I’ll call you Kazuto. Well, I already do.”
Her playful tone hid a hint of shyness.
The sound made my heart ache sweetly.
“Yeah, Towa—got it.”
The moment I said her name, her shoulders twitched.
Her flushed cheeks glowed in the moonlight, unbearably cute.
“…So, this is kinda late, but…”
Towa fiddled with the blanket’s edge, her voice lowering.
“I can… have human kids, you know?”
“What?”
A dumb sound escaped me.
“Were you thinking I couldn’t ‘cause I’m not human?”
She smirked teasingly, but her ears were red.
I took a deep breath and answered seriously.
“Got it. If that happens, I’ll take responsibility. As a man.”
Towa’s eyes widened, then she buried her face in her hands.
“Uh… I mean, it’s probably fine…”
Her gesture only made my heart race more.
(So serious… this guy.)
I heard her mumble softly.
Silence lingered. Towa steadied her breathing, then looked up.
“And that scar on your forehead—”
Her serious gaze pierced me.
“It’s probably attracting non-humans. Any ideas?”
“…Huh?”
Caught off guard, I faltered.
“It showed up on my birthday. I don’t really know.”
Towa stared for a moment, then smiled.
“It’s okay. I’ll protect you no matter what.”
“…Thanks, Towa. I’m really glad you’re here.”
Her cheeks flushed red again.
She flailed her legs under the blanket, looking away.
“…Fine. Let’s have another movie battle.”
(Towa: This guy drops killer lines out of nowhere…)
Towa smirked meaningfully.
“Oh, almost forgot… check below your navel.”
I looked where her finger pointed, and a faintly glowing sigil shimmered. A mystical pattern spread across my skin like an engraving.
“Whoa, what’s this!? Why’s it there—?”
I yelped, and Towa’s lips curled.
“That’s my ‘possession mark.’ With this, most non-humans won’t touch you. You’re safe.”
“P-Possession…? On my body!? Why put something so important there…”
My eyes were drawn to the mark. Its placement made it hard to know where to look.
Towa propped herself on her elbow, grinning like a little devil.
“‘Cause it’s kinda… sexy, right? Doesn’t it feel like an eroge?”
“…! That’s why!?”
My face burned, and Towa burst out laughing.
(That witch’s jealous face is gonna be priceless. Heh heh… He’s all mine now.)
She smirked triumphantly, deliberately tracing the mark with her finger.
“Hey, doesn’t it feel special when I touch it? …You know you’re mine, right?”
“T-Towa, wait… s-stop—”
My voice cracked, unable to hold it in.
Towa narrowed her eyes, piling on the mischief.
“Yup… it’s sexy. Looks good on you, my ‘possession’ ♡.”
Bathed in moonlight, our playful tussle felt mystical yet comical.
But it undeniably shaped a night brimming with heat.
