Nobody Wants to Be the MC - Chapter 6
Chapter 6: The World Wants Me Dead
【Siegfried PoV】
After watching Eksu battle Elizabeth, my heart filled with hope.
I had never seen such a wild mix of strength and chaos—a crazy dance of violence and precision that lit a tiny flame inside me.
He couldn’t beat Elizabeth completely, but he won by a landslide.
Even though he didn’t overpower her entirely, his win proved his amazing skill and stubborn determination.
That skill of his…
Every move he made shone with brilliance, drawing everyone’s eyes and sparking a fierce envy in me. I can only imagine how different life would be if I had even a bit of that talent.
If I had his ability I would probably be able to live longer…
If fate gave me even a fraction of his knack, I bet I’d last longer in this harsh world.
I could be happy, I could very well defend myself from Elizabeth and Lilith’s attacks.
I could finally taste real happiness and stand up to Elizabeth and Lilith—each strike a sign that life is worth fighting for.
But….
But… the bitter irony of my life reminds me that dreams are often impossible and setbacks never end.
Good….
Good… even the smallest spark of hope vanishes into my endless self-doubt, tangled with fate’s cruel jokes.
Life is how life is….
Life is what it is—a mix of joy and misery, woven with irony I just can’t shake.
Even if I’m not the strongest… even if I’m not the prettiest…
Even if I’m neither the mightiest warrior nor the prettiest face, fate makes me feel like I’m always not enough.
Damn… there’s nothing left for me…
Damn… it feels like every chance and scrap of potential has been snatched away, leaving only the echo of lost dreams.
I’m nothing in this story, what kind of protagonist am I?
I’m just a shadow in this absurd tale—what kind of hero am I when even my own life mocks me?
But well… back to the main topic… it’s time for me to go back to Eksu’s village…
But well… enough of these gloomy thoughts. It’s time to head back to Eksu’s village—a place promising mystery and misadventure.
When I was arriving, an event… well… a silly event happened…
When I got there, fate pulled a goofy trick on me, tossing me into a wild, unexpected mess.
A group in trouble…
A ragtag bunch got caught in a bizarre pickle, and I was swept into their ridiculous drama.
Oh who would have thought…
Oh, who would’ve thought I’d be dragged into such a hilariously doomed situation?
This wretched world putting me in this kind of situation.
Seriously, this messed-up world never fails to trap me.
Damn, I’m already 10 years old…
Damn, I’m only 10 years old…
Even if I’m the hero, in theory… I don’t have any other power besides this title…
Even if I’m the hero on paper, I don’t really have any powers aside from the title.
Damn…
Damn…
If the monster or whatever gets scared of this, I’ll leave calmly…
If the monster gets spooked, I’ll just slip away.
If he simply ignores me and leaves… I’m screwed….. seriously, if he ignores the fact that I’m the hero and tries to fight me, I’m screwed…
But if he brushes off my hero status and attacks… I’m really in trouble.
I can bet and see, it’ll be like rolling the dice and maybe I’ll win, I can risk it to see if I still have the plot-armor, but….
I might take a chance and roll the dice to see if my plot-armor holds up, but…
Damn…
Damn…
I’d better sneak out as if I hadn’t heard anything….
I’d better slip away quietly.
Yes… that’s the best solution, there are times when cowardice is very welcome and should be used, and this is one of those times…
Yeah… sometimes, being a coward is the smartest move.
I tried to leave… but…
Oh my god I tried… I tried… I tried all the time…
As if nothing had happened… in the most absurd way possible…
Out of nowhere, as if nothing unusual occurred…
The voice that was several meters away, came a few meters away…
A voice from just a few meters away grew louder…
Then…
Then…
“It’s the hero!!!”
SERIOUSLY…
THIS WORLD DOESN’T FORGIVE ME.
THIS HAS SO MANY HOLES, THEY WERE METERS AWAY, SEVERAL METERS THEN OUT OF NOWHERE THEY ARRIVED WHERE I WAS IN THE BLINK OF AN EYE. TO MAKE IT WORSE, THIS VILLAGE WASN’T SUPPOSED TO KNOW ME YET AS A HERO…. DAMN… SERIOUSLY…. HOW YOU GUYS HATE ME….
The monster came towards me…
It was at least 4 meters tall—a hulking nightmare of muscle and madness with eyes that glowed like busted streetlamps.
It advanced slowly, each heavy step shaking the ground, while I inched backward with a pounding heart.
I’m screwed…
I’m going to die again…
“Dear cosmic forces, please spare me another death—I’ve perished more times than I can count, you damn bastard! Sorry, I overreacted… HELP ME, PLEASE!”
The beast roared, its guttural sound echoing like a bass drum through the silence.
As we closed in on each other, a mysterious light burst from nowhere, slicing through the dark like a laser.
The eerie glow swirled around the monster, making it stagger mid-stride as I watched in disbelief.
In an instant, its grotesque form began to crumble—like an overcooked statue falling apart before my eyes.
How… I don’t know…
Maybe it’s the remains of my plot-armor….
