“The one currently in the bath is Ichise-kun!”

Ignoring the commotion among the class girls, Chiyo continued to stand in front of the men’s bathhouse entrance.

“Ichise-kun, huh…”

“Ichise-kun, indeed…”

Sighing, a few of the girls seemed to let out small breaths.

“Ichise-kun’s group looked like they were having so much fun!”

“Ichise-kun is as kind as ever!”

“I wish I was in the same group as Ichise-kun.”

The conversation got lively talking about Ikuto.

Although they had supposedly come to take a bath, the conversation still continued near the entrance of the women’s bathhouse.

“Only someone like Ichise-kun would approach us girls with a smile…”

“He’s so kind…”

“He’s considerate and cool…”

“Everything about him is great! By the way, Ichise-kun has a good physique, doesn’t he? He probably has abs. Fuhehe…”

All of these conversations naturally entered Chiyo’s ears.

It was the usual.

Chiyo’s expression didn’t change at all in the face of such talk.

The remaining girls started to gather around Chiyo as well.

“Hey, hey, Kanoya-san!”

“Yes?”

“Any progress with Ichise-kun?”

“Progress? We do talk.”

“That’s not what I mean! Like, have you held hands? Any kind of physical contact?”

“Unnecessary physical contact is not allowed.”

Maintaining her cool expression, Chiyo spoke. 

“Right, makes sense.”

“The class president is so serious. If it were me, I’d definitely use the position of being a bodyguard to get some benefits.”

“But what if Ichise-kun were to approach—”

She was cut off.

“We should go now. If we keep making noise, Rui-kun will come.”

“Ah…right.”

“Good luck with the guarding, Class President!”

“Thank you.”

Finally, the girls pulled back the curtain and went inside. But from the looks of it, the topic of Ichise-kun wasn’t going to die down even after they entered the bath.

Chiyo was alone again.

“…Compared to me, it seems like Tohsaka-san would have made much more progress.”

She muttered, almost to herself.

Why is Rui here in the bathhouse⁉︎

I looked twice, three times, but there was no mistake—Rui was indeed in front of me. In my confusion, my mouth gaped open, flabbergasted. Rui spoke in a gentle tone.

“Sorry to surprise you, Ikuto. After the boys enter the bath, it’s a rule to make a round inside to check.”

“Is that so…”

“There are several precautions to be aware of when boys enter the large bath! Especially for male bodyguards and assistants, keep this in mind!”

Come to think of it, Kiyomi-sensei had said something like that during her explanation.

“Even though I checked before you entered, it’s better to be safe than sorry.”

“I see.”

Better safe than sorry… indeed!

I understood why Rui was here.

But I couldn’t take my eyes off Rui.

Not so much off her well-proportioned face, but a bit lower down…

“Ah, of course, I’m wearing a bath towel.”

Rui noticed my gaze.

Her cheeks were slightly flushed, perhaps a little embarrassed.

The bath towel was tightly wrapped around Rui’s body, but it seemed like if she moved even slightly, you might catch a glimpse below the thigh line.

Nevertheless, the crucial parts were covered…

What she couldn’t hide was her good physique and that ample chest.

My eyes were irresistibly glued to them.

Because the towel was wrapped tightly, it emphasized the size of her chest even more. The towel seemed to be doing its best to hold it all in, but it looked like it could spill out at any moment.

I thought that if it was just for an inspection like she said earlier, staying in her jersey would have been fine. But, from my perspective, this was a feast for the eyes, so I’ll just keep that thought to myself.

“As someone who likes big breasts, Ikuto, are you disappointed that it’s hidden by a bath towel? Or do you like this… even more?”

“W-well, yes. The bath towel look is also fantastic.”

There’s something more alluring about the bath towel look than being completely naked…

Saying that, Rui started walking away to check the rest of the large bath.

By the time I finished washing myself and wrapping a bath towel around my lower half, Rui’s inspection seemed to have concluded.

“Are you going back, Rui?”

“Yeah, I’m done with the inspection. I’ll be in the changing room. If anything comes up, just call for me. Oh, and feel free to relax without worrying about us, okay?”

She got the jump on me there.

“Well, I’ll take it easy, but only to an extent.”

“Sure, take your time to heal your body.”

“Yeah. But now that you’ve changed into a bath towel, it somehow feels like a waste.”

I do wish I could admire Rui in that bath towel a bit longer…

Now that she’d changed into a bath towel, all that was left was to enter the bath.

It felt like a waste to change back into jersey, especially given that this was a large communal bath. 

Well, it was a men’s bath, but still.

“…Fufu, what’s that? Are you trying to say, in a roundabout way, that you want to take a bath with me?”

“!?”

Bathing alone with a girl… 

For me, that’s like a dream scenario. 

But… is that okay? 

Doing something like that…

While I was lost in thought,

“…If you’re uncomfortable, I want you to say so.”

Rui turned serious.

Those earlier words might have been Rui’s way of teasing me.

“Please be aware of me as a girl who really loves you from now on, okay?”

Maybe she said it to make me aware of her feelings. 

Either way, I don’t think those words from Rui lacked any sincerity. 

Otherwise…

“…”

She wouldn’t be waiting for my next words with such an anxious expression on her face.

“That’s enough for now. Your answer to my feelings can wait.”

Rui had said that to me.

Back then, I was too overwhelmed sorting out the information that Rui, who had always been by my side as a male bodyguard, was a girl and had confessed to me.

Moreover, I didn’t even understand my feelings towards Rui. 

I still don’t. Our current relationship is becoming comfortable, but even if Rui says she’s willing to wait for an answer, I don’t think it’s easy to keep her waiting.

“Ikuto, um…”

It’s not good to remain uncertain. I want to give her an answer soon, but responding with unclear feelings is…

“That’s right, I am a girl who is madly in love with you.”

Rui had made it clear.

I feel bad for leaving Rui, who has been so explicit, in the lurch.

So, even if I don’t understand my feelings, isn’t it okay for me to demand more from our relationship? Instead of holding back or hesitating, why not dive right in? To better understand my own feelings as well.
