“The rain… has finally stopped. Sigh, I really hate the rain… It reminds me of my old self.” 

Kuno looked up at the overcast sky and murmured those words.

Because she hadn’t brought an umbrella, she had been taking shelter at the school.

“Waiting for the rain to stop at school may have been the proper judgment for a male bodyguard, but for me, it’s a bit regrettable.”

Her tone suggested that she understood something. 

It seemed to be related to the message screen that had been left unread for a while now.

“…If it’s a minor indiscretion like that, I’ll turn a blind eye. I suppose Nii-san did something unknowingly charming again.”

Kuno slowly closed her eyes, then opened them.

“Well, to know what really happened, and how far they went, I’ll need to hear it directly from Rui-san. Fufufu… Fufufufufu.”

A dark grin had appeared on Kuno’s face, but the moment she heard footsteps tapping behind her, she quickly reverted to her usual cool expression.

“Sorry for the wait, Ichise-san…! The restroom was being cleaned. Oh, were you on the phone?”

“No, it’s nothing important.”

Kuno said, as she put away the smartphone she had been gripping into her school bag.

“The rain has stopped now, shall we go?”

“Uh, yeah!”

As they matched their paces, Kuno went on to complete her final task as a male bodyguard for the day. Without a smile, maintaining a cool expression.

Although she appeared aloof and unapproachable, Kuno’s well-proportioned face made it work like a piece of art.

Upon opening the window, I found that the rain had indeed stopped. 

The sky was cloudy, but she could probably go home now without needing an umbrella. 

Rui seemed to realize this too.

“I’ve been here a long time, huh? My uniform should be dry by now, so I’ll change and head home. Thank you so much for today.”

Just as Rui was about to open the front door, she seemed to remember something and came back.

“Did you forget something?”

Rui drew close to my ear and whispered, 

“I’m looking forward to the field trip.”

With a mischievous smile, Rui left the house.

“I’m really looking forward to the field trip. We get to do activities with classmates, eat together, spend the night… and there’s even a campfire on the last day! It’s going to be so much fun!”
