Chapter 04
“Thank you very much!”
I received the items I’ve paid for from the cashier and placed them in the eco bag I brought with me.
“…”
Alright, do you get what I’m saying, folks?
Yes, I’ve finished my shopping.
And not a single woman talked to me!
…
So why am I the only one who can’t get a woman to talk to him?!
I was maybe, just maybe, hoping that because this was a supermarket and not a convenience store, someone might strike up a conversation with me.
When I entered the store, I did attract some attention simply because I’m a guy. However, as soon as I passed by, people deliberately moved away. The moment our eyes met and I gave them a smile, they had all already disappeared.
Everything was quick after that.
I went to the snack corner to buy the potato chips I was looking for and picked up a drink on the way to the checkout counter.
And so here I am now. Just did some ordinary shopping.
I mean, I think it’s a blessing to be able to shop like this for most men in the world, but still.
Isn’t it odd?
Why am I the only one who doesn’t get talked to, or caught up in some fuss, or have my face turn red?
Is this really some sort of twisted, chaste world?!
No matter how much I lament in my heart, it’s all in vain.
“…”
Holding my eco-bag, I silently scanned the store.
The store is full of women.
In this world of chastity reversal, many women take great care of their appearances in the hopes of securing a rare man. They’re mostly beautiful. Even my classmates are all gorgeous girls.
Seriously, everyone is too beautiful! So far, I haven’t met anyone who isn’t cute or beautiful.
So, actually, having women talk to me or hit on me should be something to celebrate for me, but…
“Hey, is that a guy…?”
“Yes, that’s the one, the boy…”
Women do notice my presence, but rathis than talking to me, they move away. I’m starting to think they’re doing it specifically because it’s me.
“Ah… it’s actually depressing when it gets to this point, you know?”
When did I end up in this situation?
In my younger years, up until elementary school, I interacted normally with girls. I wonder if that was the first and last time I was popular.
◇◇
“What are you doing here, Ikuto?”
“Wha—Rui⁉️”
As I left the store, I found Rui waiting for me, dressed in casual clothes and with a somewhat exasperated look on his face.
“Why is Rui here… Wait, could it be…?”
Rui showed me his smartphone.
Male bodyguards are allowed to install GPS tracking on the phones of the guys they protect, so they can know their whereabouts at any time. Moreover, an alert sounds whenever the guy leaves his home.
“So, it’s because I went out alone?”
“Exactly. What’s the meaning of going out by yourself?”
Rui’s eyes narrowed, and his lips hinted at a smile.
Yeah, he’s angry.
“I, um… I ran out of potato chips, so I came to buy some.”
“So, you dive into a crowd of lascivious women just for some chips? Are you that desperate, Ikuto?”
“I’m not desperate! Actually, I’m the only one women don’t talk to—I’m all alone!”
“Isn’t that always the case?”
“W-Well, yes, but still…”
“Anyway,”
Rui interrupts me with a stern tone.
“Do you know why I escort you from the time you go to school until you get back home? It’s to protect you from women starved for men, isn’t it? If you don’t feel a sense of urgency about that, I’ll have to take appropriate measures, you know?”
“Y-Yes…”
I can’t blame him for being angry; I’m at fault here. If something were to happen to me, Rui, my male bodyguard, would be the one held responsible.
“Are you reflecting on it?”
“Yes, I am…”
“Not enough, it seems.”
“What⁉️”
“Hehe. Would you like me to forgive you?”
Rui leaned in to look at my face. His handsome features come closer, making my heart skip a beat.
“I’d like to be forgiven…”
I said, watching Rui’s reaction carefully.
“Well… Can I have one of the drinks in that bag? I’m quite thirsty.”
“Sure, but all I have is orange juice and soda.”
“I’ll go for the orange juice, then.”
I handed his a bottle of orange juice from my eco-bag.
Rui opened it on the spot and said,
“Mmm, delicious. It tastes even better coming from you, Ikuto.”
He flashed a refreshing smile—a real heartthrob. Yep, he’s back to his usual self.
What a relief…
“By the way, Rui.”
“Hmm?”
I waited for Rui to cap the bottle before I spoke.
“Rui, what’s going on with your chest?”
“Huh?”
Rui’s face turned puzzled.
Ever since I found Rui, I’ve been curious. His chest area… seems more voluminous than usual.
It’s noticeably larger than the breasts of the women at the supermarket—as if he’s hiding something.
“Ah, this is…”
Noticing my gaze, Rui covers his chest with his hand.
“Rui, don’t tell me you…”
“…”
Rui averts his eyes as I start to speak. I knew it…
“Did you cross-dress to teach me a lesson about how scary women can be? But that won’t work on me. I already took enough damage by not being able to talk to anyone and finishing my shopping in isolation. Ugh…”
“… Sigh.”
I felt like a sigh escaped from Rui.
He’s probably exasperated, thinking I never learn.
“You’re really clueless, Ikuto. Or should I say, a dense fool.”
“What do you mean by ‘fool’? But yes, I am!”
“You admit it, huh?”
What’s wrong with being painfully honest? I want to be popular with girls and have my own harem!
“I don’t think you’re that kind of fool, though…”
“Hm? Did you say something?”
“Never mind.”
Rui turned his back on me in a huff. At the same time, I notice his chest jiggling a little.
“But a busty Rui isn’t bad either.”
“Eh?”
Immediately, he turned back to face me.
Once again, I find myself staring at Rui.
Just the presence of breasts makes him look so different.
He has short silver hair, a beautiful face that appears cute upon closer inspection, thighs that look unusually meaty due to well-fitted jeans in contrast to his slightly oversized school pants, and an impressively busty figure that’s in stark contrast to his slender waist.
The current Rui gives off the impression of a tomboyish beauty.
“Yeah, pretty cute. This could totally wor—”
What am I blurting out? Just because I can’t talk to girls doesn’t mean I should fall for Rui, who’s a guy!
“Really…?”
“Huh?”
“Really?”
Before I knew it, Rui had gotten closer.
His eyes looked a little scary… And those breasts are about to touch me. But it’s just padding anyway, so maybe I could use this as practice?
“So, Ikuto, what do you think of how I look now?”
“Huh? Uh… cute, I guess?”
“Really?”
“Really, but why…?”
He kept asking in a strangely forceful manner. Despite the pressure, I answered honestly, if a bit tentatively.
“I see… Hmm, okay then.”
“Rui?”
He covered his mouth with his hand for some reason.
“It’s fine. Let’s consider today’s incident as if nothing happened and forgive each other.”
“Thank you!”
What a relief. That settles it—
“By the way, I’ve informed your family that you went out alone.”
“What…?”
Wait. This could be a problem…
