My Yandere Girlfriend Hiding in the Dungeon Kills Me Over and Over Again
Chapter 153 Second Prince
As instructed, I was searching for the Captain of the Guard.
First, I tried speaking to a soldier nearby. At first, he looked at me with reluctance, but when I showed him the letter of recommendation signed by the Sage Nyau, he looked surprised and guided me courteously.
It seems Nyau is greatly feared in this country. Honestly, I can’t help but feel strange about it.
“I am Galette, the Captain of the Guard. What business do you have with me at such a busy time?”
The person I was guided to was a man clad in armor. As one would expect from a captain, he had a majestic presence. Up close, the surface of his armor bore countless scars from battles, indicating his extensive experience in many wars.
“Pleased to meet you. My name is Kiska. I came to ask if I could join the Prince’s guard.”
Feeling a bit nervous, I managed to say that. Captain Galette, while mentioning that they weren’t recruiting any more members, scrutinized me closely.
“Shouldn’t you take off your hood when asking someone for a favor?”
It was a perfectly reasonable request. However, I wore the hood to hide my accursed silver hair. Despite this, I realized I couldn’t keep it hidden any longer and removed my hood.
“This guy’s an Alcusian!!”
Suddenly, the soldier who had guided me here shouted upon seeing my silver hair. Yes, this silver hair is a symbol of the Alcusians, a people despised by everyone in this country.
“I see, so you’re an Alcusian. If it were wartime, we wouldn’t care about appearances and would welcome you into the unit, but this is a celebration. Having an Alcusian present would be considered bad luck.”
Captain Galette wore a grim expression.
Well, I had expected this kind of response, so I silently handed him Nyau’s letter of recommendation.
“This… this is from Sage Nyau!? B-but why would she…?”
He was exhibiting a textbook example of surprise.
However, since the recommendation only contained a brief instruction to add me to the guard, Captain Galette, unable to understand Nyau’s true intention, was left bewildered.
“Hey there, how’s it going?”
The person who appeared was the magician Lyune, who claimed to be Nyau’s disciple. She waved her hand lazily.
“Magician Lyune, w-what is the meaning of this!?”
“Apparently, he’s an old acquaintance of my master. So, you know, give him some special treatment.”
“That may be, but… even if it’s at the request of Sage Nyau, what will Prince Dilekka think…”
I watched the exchange between Lyune and Captain Galette as if it were someone else’s problem. It was somehow surprising to see Captain Galette being so deferential.
“In that case, why don’t you ask the Second Prince directly?”
“T-that would be a bit…”
“If the Captain can’t ask, Lyune will ask him directly. The Second Prince is just ahead, right? Come on, Kiska, follow me.”
“Huh? What…?”
I was led by Lyune, pulled along, toward the door. I felt like the Captain was shouting, but I paid no heed.
As soon as we entered the door, I noticed a strong aroma first. Then, I quickly realized it was an unusual space.
There were many girls with their chests quite exposed. In the center of the room was a large bed, surrounded by white curtains. Silhouettes reflected on the white curtains, along with the sound of women’s alluring voices, made it clear what was happening behind them.
“The Second Prince seems lively today too,” Lyune casually commented beside me. I just felt extremely uncomfortable.
“Isn’t that Lyune-sama?!”
A woman in a maid outfit hurried over to us.
She had her hair in a ponytail, and her appearance was modest, not quite suitable for such an unusual place. However, upon closer inspection, I noticed she had a refined facial feature. She might also be a favorite of the Second Prince.
“This is Elsie-san, a maid who is always near the Second Prince, and this is Kiska, an old friend of Master,” Lyune introduced us to each other. Elsie-san bowed politely and greeted, “Nice to meet you, Kiska-san,” bowing her head towards me.
“I have something to ask the Second Prince about him, so please call him,” Lyune said.
“Yes, understood,” Elsie-san replied promptly and hurried towards the bed where the Second Prince presumably was.
The Second Prince was in the midst of something important, but would it be appropriate to convey my business at such a time? I felt anxious, fearing I might be shouted at for disturbing. Right now, all I could do was trust Lyune.
Elsie-san went behind the curtain, and after a while, she returned and came back to us again.
Although there was a considerable distance between where we stood and the curtained area, I felt sorry for Elsie-san having to make that trip repeatedly.
“The Prince will come once he’s dressed. Please wait a little longer,” Elsie-san said, which relieved me inwardly.
Is the Second Prince surprisingly perceptive?
Or perhaps Lyune, or even Nyau behind her, holds such importance that not even the Second Prince can disregard?
As Elsie-san predicted, the Second Prince appeared.
He was a man with a chubby and sloppy figure, almost like a character drawn in a crude painting.
“Lyune, what is the meaning of disturbing me at such a busy time?” the Second Prince arrived, sounding displeased.
“Well, you looked bored as hell, you damn lecherous prince,” Lyune retorted casually.
“Hey, I am the Second Prince of the Kingdom of Rastarna! What do you mean by ‘damn’ towards a prince!? What the hell!?”
Seeing the Second Prince shout, I internally sighed in relief.
What’s the point of angering him!? I thought, glancing at Lyune. However, she was mocking the Second Prince without a trace of worry.
“But that’s fine with me!!” Suddenly, the Second Prince’s expression changed from anger to ecstasy.
“Never did I expect a woman who’d kick me. Lyune, be my woman. Name your price, I’ll pay anything!”
“Eww, gross. Die die die die die die die die die die die die die die”
“Ah♡ Ah♡ Ahh!! ♡”
…What on earth am I witnessing? I wondered. Is Elsie not going to stop this? I looked at her, but she was just smiling.
How can she laugh when her master is in such a state?
“So, Prince Shit, I want to get this business done quickly.”
“I told you not to call me ‘shit’. Ah…! But that’s fine!”
“I want to add him to the escort team for this expedition, alright?”
Lyune said this and looked towards me.
I held my breath. I was nervous about how the Second Prince would react.
“Escort team?” the Second Prince said, looking at me intently.
I thought I should introduce myself and show sincerity, so I lowered my head to say my name.
“What a waste of time. Why do I need to give my permission for him to join the escort team? That’s all up to the captain,” the Second Prince said, seeming uninterested as he looked away from me.
“The captain mentioned being curious about the Second Prince’s reaction. Besides, he’s an Alcusian,” Lyune said to provoke the Second Prince.
Upon hearing this from Lyune, the Second Prince uttered something shocking.
“Alcusian. What’s that?”
◆
“Kiska, congratulations on joining the guard.”
After reporting to Captain Galette outside the room where the Second Prince was, Lyune said that to me.
“Thank you very much. Thanks to Lyune-san, I’m here safely.”
“Why are you using polite language with Lyune?”
“Um, well, Captain Galette used polite language with Lyune, so I thought it might be appropriate.”
Upon hearing my answer, she opened her mouth and laughed.
“Hahaha, no, even though I talk back to Master, it’s weird to use polite language with Lyune.”
Yeah, I guess that’s true when you put it that way…
But seeing Lyune speak so casually to the Second Prince without any reservations, I couldn’t help but wonder if Lyune was really important after all. Or maybe not?
“I thought Lyune must be incredibly important since she speaks so frankly to the Second Prince. But is that not the case? Honestly, I’ve been amazed all along at how you can treat the Second Prince like that.”
“Well, that idiot prince’s reactions are like that with everyone.”
“I-idiot!? Don’t say things like that where anyone could hear, you’ll get in trouble for disrespect!”
I glanced around nervously. If anyone overheard this conversation, it could be seen as disrespectful.
“Hahaha, Kiska, you’re too flustered. No one around here cares about that. Calling the Second Prince an idiot, pervert, slowpoke—that’s what everyone says.”
“I-is that so…”
Certainly, I passed by other soldiers just now, but no one seemed to be paying any attention to our conversation.
Come to think of it, I remember hearing about this when I was in Katarov Village. In the capital, there are rumors about the diligent First Prince and the irresponsible Second Prince.
“The Second Prince has a bad reputation, right? He’s always fooling around with women and never involves himself in political affairs. He’s disliked by the people. It seems like the King insisted on making him participate in this event. Maybe he’s hoping to improve his reputation a bit through these political duties. But honestly, he’s such an idiot. Putting him out in public will only worsen his reputation.”
“I-is that so…”
I was surprised by Lyune’s blunt words, but perhaps this is the true sentiment of the people.
Suddenly, I recalled the Seven Prophecies.
One of those prophecies was “Let the second prince Dilekka be left to die.”
Rather than risk someone competent, I felt it wouldn’t hurt as much to abandon someone so dull-witted.
