ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー
【Side: Hara Kamitsuru】
It seemed like I had missed it, but Haruna had sent me some kind of message last night. Apparently, it was deleted right away, so I had no idea what she sent… What was it? Did Haruna accidentally send a voice message like Muna did?
And then came the next morning. I got dressed as usual, put my lunch into my bag, fixed my appearance, and all that was left was to leave the house. Up to this point, everything was normal. But from here on, it was different.
“I’m heading ou— whoa!?”
“Good morning, Hara-kun.”
I opened the front door. What I saw beyond it was the usual utility poles and road. And then… silver bobbed hair. For some reason, Haruna was standing there.
Huh? What? Is this a hallucination? Am I still half-asleep? Why is Haruna here? I never told her where I live.
“U-um, Haruna-san?”
“Yes?”
“W-why are you at my house?”
“Because I’m your girlfriend. We’re going to do things properly, right? Then we should go to school together too.”
“Uh, I never told you where I live, though.”
Huh, did I say something wrong? For a brief moment, Haruna’s expression clouded. What was that? What set her off?
“That doesn’t matter. Come on, let’s go.”
“Doesn’t matter… Haah, yeah. Let’s go.”
Walking to school together was definitely something couples often did. And since I felt like I shouldn’t pry any further, I reluctantly went along with it. So we started walking, but… My right arm was firmly locked by Haruna. It hurt, in many ways. My arm hurt, and more than that, the stares from everyone around us hurt. They were piercing, really piercing, stabbing into me over and over.
“Hehe, look, Hara-kun. Everyone’s looking at us. They must think we’re a good match.”
“I really don’t think that’s it. If anything, they’re probably thinking I’m obviously not good enough for you.”
“Whether we match or not isn’t for others to decide. It’s for us, the ones involved. Do you think you’re not good enough for me?”
“Of course I’m not good enough for you!”
Just think about it. Haruna always ranked first in tests back in middle school, she was exceptional in sports, and her looks were good enough that she could easily be a model. And then there was me. I was only somewhat decent at sports, my grades were below average, and I didn’t look particularly good either. I was plain. There was no way I could think I was a good match for Haruna.
“…I think we’re a good match.”
She whispered that softly into my ear. What was this? A tingling sensation ran through my entire body, like it was ticklish yet somehow pleasant. This girl, seriously!!

We arrived at school. Needless to say, I… or rather, Haruna, was the center of attention. The overwhelming killing intent from the guys stabbed into me one after another like some kind of deadly pirate attack. Haruna, did she do this on purpose knowing this would happen?
“Hara-kun! Haru-chan! Good morning!”
“Morning, Muna.”
“Morning, Muna.”
Just as we passed through the school gate, Muna came running up from behind. She was energetic as always in the morning. Also… wow. That was a lot of movement. I wouldn’t say what, but yeah.
“Man, you two are really getting a lot of attention.”
“For all the wrong reasons! I’m scared to walk home at night! I’ve already got a stalker to worry about!!”
“You don’t need to worry about the stalker anymore. It’s already been taken care of.”
“Huh?”
Haruna said that with a slight smile. What? It was already resolved? I just talked to her about it yesterday.
“W-wait, I only just told you about it yesterday, right? And it’s already solved?”
“We were being followed. So we happened to run into them on the way home. Then we just had a little talk.”
“I didn’t notice at all. That’s amazing, Haruna.”
“Right now, even if it’s just an act, we’re boyfriend and girlfriend. So at least during that time, I want you to look only at me. That’s why anything that tries to take your attention away, big or small, gets removed. That’s only natural, right? Isn’t it, Muna?”
“Yeah, yeah, Haru-chan, that’s totally natural. You want them to look only at you, right? And if they won’t, then you just have to kill them so they will, hehe♡”
Haruna-san… the pressure, the pressure is intense… It’s not exactly wrong, but it’s definitely not normal either. Yeah. Heavy. And wow, Muna is scary too. Amazing, neither of them has any light in their eyes. I-it’s fine, right? They didn’t kill the stalker or anything, right!?
“So that’s how it is. Hehe, don’t look at any other girls but me, okay? I absolutely won’t forgive cheating.”
“That’s right, Hara-kun! If you cheat when you have Haru-chan… ahaha♡”
Did I pick the wrong option somewhere? Am I going to get killed?
“Cheating, huh… we’re not actually dating, you know. It’s just an act.”
“I want to do it properly, even if it’s just an act.”
“Haah.”
Sandwiched between the two of them, enduring the painfully sharp stares, I made my way to the classroom.
Am I… strangling myself with my own choices here?
“…Hm?”
As I stepped inside, I felt an especially intense gaze directed at me, something beyond mere jealousy, pure killing intent. When I turned toward it, it was Tanaka. Ah, because Muna was here. Oh crap, I was told not to get involved with her.
“Kamitsuru… why, why are you of all people getting close to Misono-san!? Misono-san, you know the rumors about this guy, right!? He’s laid hands on women! You’d be better off with someone like me than with someone like him!”
Hold on, hold on, wait a second. I mean, yeah, I understand he’s jealous that Muna is around me, but why Haruna too? Why is he jealous about Haruna and not Muna? Didn’t you just say the other day that Muna was yours? Then go love Muna instead. No, how should I put this? Maybe it’s because I know how Muna feels… Either way, this guy really pisses me off.
“Be quiet. You’re unpleasant. I have nothing more to say to you. And don’t insult him. He’s my beloved boyfriend.”
“W-what!?”
“Haruki, you have me, right? Come on, let’s go somewhere else. …Die, you trash.”
“H-hey, Muna!”
Haruna shot Tanaka a sharp glare. While he was shaken by it, Muna dragged him away somewhere. And yeah, I had expected something like this, but I didn’t think she’d so openly declare me as her boyfriend this soon. …Wait, didn’t Muna just say something pretty insane just now? Did I mishear that?
…Why is it? I have a really bad feeling about this. It’s frustrating. Maybe I can’t honestly support Muna with her love for Tanaka after all.

It’s good that they support each other hehe,
