ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー
“Well then, it’s time to study up on Ste-Wa. But I’ll go grab someone more suited for the job than me!”
Leaving it at that, Muna rushed toward the next room with incredible momentum, shouting, “Big sis!”
Big sister… an older sister?! Her sister?! Wh-what is this sudden pressure?!
A short while later, Muna returned with a tall, strikingly handsome woman. She had long, pure white hair that reached down to her waist and beautiful, slightly narrow, drooping red eyes that, much like Muna’s, felt as if they could draw you in.
“We’ve met in passing, but I suppose this is officially the first time. Hello, Hara-kun. I’m Sana Tanatsuki, this girl’s older sister.”
“H-hello! I’m Hara Kamitsuru , the one currently dating your sister.”
Come to think of it, I had heard she had an older sister, but I never once ran into her during middle or elementary school. I rarely went to Muna’s house in the first place. Usually, she was at mine.
Wow, her face is incredibly “strong.” Are these sisters the most powerful duo in existence or something?
“Haha, what a polite boy. I’m glad to finally meet you. I’ve wanted to see you for myself for a while now.”
“Me, ma’am?”
“Yes. I’ve heard so much about you from Muna and Nonoa. Especially Muna though. It’s practically all she talks about. And well, look… you can tell just by looking at this room, right?”
Sana-san laughed heartily with a look that was a mix of resignation and exasperation. Yeah, I bet! Anyone would react like that if their younger sister suddenly started doing… this!
And how does she still look so good even with an expression like that?!
“N-nnh-hm! Anyway, back to the main point! Since today is a Stella☆Walker study session, I thought it would be best to have Big Sis—the leader of Stella☆Walker—teach you the ropes!”
“…The leader?!”
L-leader?! I-I see. So that’s why she has a connection to Nonoa. Actually, that’s a massive connection. We’re talking about the Leader and the Center here.
“Stella☆Walker is an idol group produced by my father. I’m the leader, and I’m the one who founded it. Back in the day, I threw a bit of a tantrum until Dad made it happen, and that’s how it was born.”
As she spoke, Sana-san held a Blu-ray in her hand. I caught a glimpse of the package, which featured the date 11/11 and the words “Star Gazing.”
“Want to watch? It’s the Blu-ray of our debut live show.”
“Yes, please. I want to learn as many songs as I can.”
My response was instantaneous. Since Nonoa had gone to the trouble of inviting me, I was going to give it my all. I wanted to support them with everything I had, without a single song I didn’t know. Or rather, I wanted to enjoy it myself. And obviously, with Misaki along too.
“I see. Ah, come to think of it, Muna mentioned that Nonoa gave you tickets for next week’s concert. If that’s the case, I’d be happy to help. Fortunately, I don’t have any lessons today.”
“Thank you very much, Sana-san.”
“…Hmph, you really don’t remember, do you?”
Sana-san muttered something to herself as she inserted the disc into a fairly large player. So we were really going to do this right here in Muna’s room. Man, it was hard to concentrate. The TV was quite big, so it was easy to see, though. But more than that, there were just too many “me’s” staring at me from every direction. It was distracting!!
“It’s been a while since I’ve watched the debut live. I’ve actually memorized all the choreography from back then.”
“Haha, as expected of my number one fan.”
The footage on the screen showed the inside of a small live house. Everyone was standing, and the capacity looked to be around three hundred people at most.
…That’s right, even if they’re super famous now, everyone starts somewhere like this.
“Ah, that’s me back then. I think I was nineteen or so… hehe, it’s a bit embarrassing.”
Sana-san pointed to a woman wearing glasses with light blue hair that was almost silver, looking somewhat similar to Haruna. Even back then, you could tell she carried a very cool aura. What caught my eye, though, was the extremely stiff-looking girl with short brown hair standing behind Sana-san. How tall was she? She was tiny. She looked like an elementary schooler. Which meant?
“That’s right. That’s Nonoa back then. She’s still a bit awkward, so she’s cute, isn’t she?”
“Could you please stop reading my mind!?”
Is mind-reading a common trait between these sisters? What gives? Do I really wear my heart on my sleeve that much?! Or am I accidentally letting my thoughts leak out loud?!
“Alright, it’s starting. I believe the first set was two songs back-to-back.”
The first song was “Start.” It had a very poppy melody and a classic “pure idol” vibe. With member introductions in the middle and plenty of chants throughout, it looked like it would be a blast to cheer along to. It stuck in my head immediately.
The second song was “July 7th.” This was a complete departure from the first—a much quieter track. It began with a gentle piano melody, gradually adding drums and guitar. Then, in the final chorus, everyone’s voices layered together. This song in particular really resonated with me.
However, being a debut live, there were moments of awkwardness and vocal slips that even an amateur could spot, driving home the fact that this was from their early days.
“It was our debut performance, after all. They only let us perform two songs. Looking back at it now, I’m struck by how terrible it was.”
“That’s not true. Sure, there were a few mistakes that even an amateur like me could catch. But I thought it was amazing. This might sound strange, but… I felt a strong urge to support them. The girls standing there on that stage.”
Watching them give it their all despite the awkwardness—especially Nonoa—I found myself inspired. I wanted to cheer for them. I wanted to watch them grow. Yes, I felt that quite strongly.
Though I suppose it’s a bit late to be thinking that about a world-famous idol group…
“I see. No wonder both of them fell for you. It’s been a long time since anyone watched us from back then and said something like that. You’re a kind one, aren’t you?”
“Wait, Big Sis?! Did you just say something I can’t let slide?! Haa-kun belongs to me, okay!”
“Hehe. Well then, next up is the first anniversary live.”
