- My Girlfriend Wanted an Open Relationship, So I Broke Up with Her and Found a Sweet Yandere
- Chapter 37: Akari's love
[Akari Hayami POV]
The train doors slid apart, and I stepped out. The air was still cold, and everyone around me wore clothes that betrayed no hint of how much they were avoiding the snow outside.
But I wasn’t.
I was burning, and it had nothing to do with the cold or the flu I had yesterday.
I did it!!!!
But why did I do it…?
Ugh. After building it up so much, I somehow managed to mess it up. Yuuta wouldn’t be offended by that, right? He wouldn’t think that I’m a weirdo… right?
So many questions and no answers in sight made me nervous.
But why was she so close to him?
She had been practically rubbing herself against him.
It irked me so much that I was tempted to show her who he belongs to, but I should have kept my hands off!
I am still his teacher!
Before I knew it, something flashed in my mind—a memory… a fresh one from last night—and it made my knees go weak so suddenly that they almost gave out.
“M-miss, are you alright?”
Someone from the busy crowd asked, and all I could manage was a nod.
Phew… calm down, Akari.
But I could still feel his touch.
Him snuggling up to me, adjusting under my weight, and pulling that blanket over me. It was a shame the blackout happened—it hid his expressions from me.
…but I did see a lot more than I was meant to.
That towel—even the gods have my back!
I didn’t see anything, and that’s a shame, but him being so close and aware of me was more than enough. I was melting while trying to keep up the sleeping façade.
“Nmmmmmmm~~~~”
I want him.
I want him.
I want him now!
My phone vibrated in my coat pocket.
The sudden buzz startled me out of my thoughts.
I took a breath, trying to calm the storm still raging inside my chest, and answered it.
“…Hello?”
“Miss Akari,” an older voice said on the other end, calm and composed as always. “I am waiting outside the station.”
Ah.
Of course.
“I see,” I replied, straightening my posture slightly. “I’m coming out.”
The call ended.
I exhaled slowly, pressing a hand to my chest.
Calm down.
Calm down.
You’re acting like a lovesick teenager.
I smoothed my hair, adjusted my coat, and walked toward the station exit.
Outside, the winter air hit my face immediately.
And there it was.
Parked neatly along the curb.
A long black luxury sedan, polished so perfectly that the pale morning light reflected across its surface like glass. The sleek body of the car looked almost out of place beside the modest storefronts and crowded sidewalks around the station.
The back door opened the moment I approached.
I slipped inside.
The interior smelled faintly of leather and cedar.
In the front seat sat an older gentleman dressed in a perfectly tailored butler’s uniform—dark coat, white gloves, posture as straight as a spear.
He turned slightly in his seat.
“Good morning, Miss Akari.”
“Good morning,” I replied quietly.
“Shall we return home?”
“Yes,” I said, leaning back into the seat. “Take me…home.”
The car began moving smoothly through the city streets.
I rested my head against the window and watched Tokyo slide past outside.
The cold glass felt nice against my warm skin.
For a while, the ride remained silent.
Then—
“Miss Akari,” the butler spoke gently.
“Yes?”
“…Where did you stay last night?”
My eyes narrowed slightly.
“I had to explain your absence to your father. He was… concerned.”
Concerned.
My expression soured instantly.
“Concerned?” I muttered.
“Yes.”
I scoffed quietly.
“Why does he care?”
The butler said nothing.
I crossed my arms and looked back out the window.
“It’s not like he actually cares about me,” I said flatly. “All I am to him is a spare.”
The words left my mouth before I even thought about them.
The butler shifted slightly in his seat.
“Miss Akari, your father—”
“My mood is too good today,” I interrupted sharply. “Let’s not spoil it.”
The man fell silent again.
Good.
The car continued through the city.
Soon the scenery changed.
Buildings shrunk and so did the hustle bustle around us.
And eventually—
The gates appeared.
Massive iron gates taller than two men swung open automatically as the sedan approached.
Beyond them stretched a long private road lined with trimmed hedges and towering trees.
At the end of it stood the mansion.
It was enormous.
Stone walls.
Tall windows.
Balconies and columns carved with intricate designs.
To anyone else, it probably looked like something out of a fairy tale.
To me—
It felt hollow.
The car stopped at the entrance.
The door opened immediately.
I stepped out.
A line of maids stood waiting.
They bowed the moment my feet touched the ground.
“Welcome home, Miss Akari.”
I walked past them without slowing.
Inside, the mansion buzzed quietly with activity.
Several maids approached as I stepped into the main hall.
“Miss Akari, we have located the exact apartment you requested.”
Another spoke immediately after.
“We have also completed the purchase of the building. It now belongs to the family.”
Good.
That meant no interruptions.
Another maid stepped forward holding a tablet.
“And our investigation into the Kisaragi Educational Foundation has concluded.”
I paused slightly.
“Oh?”
“The foundation was bankrupt,” she said. “Their chief had decided to withdraw funding from every unnecessary thing—”
She coughed politely.
“…or rather, anything they deemed unnecessary.”
I understood immediately.
“The result was the withdrawal of Master Takahashi’s scholarship.”
Yuuta.
My fingers twitched slightly.
Another maid asked gently,
“Would you like us to arrange a replacement scholarship for him?”
I shook my head immediately.
“No.”
The maids looked surprised.
“That would not be right,” I said calmly.
Even if—
Coincidentally—
It was helping my goal.
I continued walking.
The large double doors opened.
My room greeted me in silence.
It was huge.
Dark, elegant walls.
Shelves lined with books.
Heavy curtains drawn over tall windows.
A massive bed sat in the center of the room, its white sheets perfectly smooth.
I stepped inside.
Immediately one of the maids followed me.
“Inspection,” she said calmly.
Ah.
Right.
The doctor.
She checked my temperature quickly.
“Your fever has subsided.”
“Good.”
I stepped in front of the enormous mirror near the wardrobe.
It stood nearly twice my height.
Without thinking much about it, I removed my coat and the rest of my clothing.
“Keep that coat aside… and don’t wash it.”
Just routine.
My eyes fell to the mark along my chest, one that he must have noticed last night.
A thin, pale scar.
My fingers brushed over it lightly.
“…Another thing that links you and me.”
Other than the letters.
I stared at it quietly for a moment before dressing again.
Then my eyes drifted to the nightstand.
A photo frame rested there.
I picked it up gently.
The photo showed Yuuta.
Still wearing his high school uniform.
Smiling.
The rest of the group photo had been carefully cropped away so that only he remained.
My chest tightened.
I climbed onto the massive bed and hugged the frame against my chest.
The mattress sank softly beneath me.
A small laugh escaped my lips.
“You are mine, Yuu.”
Even if you don’t know it yet.
My fingers tightened around the frame.
“If it weren’t for you…”
My voice softened.
“…there would have been no one who ever acknowledged me as my own person.”
A faint memory flickered through my mind.
Another voice.
Another face.
Someone else who had once done the same.
But she was gone now.
Only Yuuta remained.
And this time—
I would not lose him.
“Oh… I need that coat.”
[A/N: Okay… she’s rich is what we know now! Btw I have few questions to ask to you readers that I’ll ask soon~]

Did she just buy Yuuta’s building? Is she trying to make his life easier by lowering the rent? Or is she trying to indirectly pressure him into moving in with her by raising it?
