My Cool and Straightforward Girlfriend Won't Let Me Sleep Today Either - Chapter 4
Episode 4: My 4th Year Girlfriend Invades My Apartment
The day after Natsuki came over to hang out.
After a long day of work from morning till night, I returned home exhausted. While eating the curry Natsuki made for me, I casually watched TV and did some research on the internet.
Around 11 p.m., I heard the sound of someone forcefully trying to open the locked door. Normally, I would suspect it to be some intruder, but I already had an idea of who it might be due to some prior communication. Still, it never hurts to be cautious, so I peeked through the peephole on the door.
—Standing outside the door was Natsuki, looking a bit sleepy with a sour expression. Since she wasn’t a suspicious person, I opened the door for her.
“I’m back…”
As soon as I opened the door, Natsuki immediately entered the room. Normally, there would still be regular trains running at this time… But Natsuki seemed to be in a bad mood, so I couldn’t just ask her to leave.

After the drinking party, Natsuki came to my room. Despite looking a bit tired, she didn’t seem too drunk. What caught my attention was her sullen expression.
“Did you have fun tonight?”
“Uh, well… it was normal?”
Natsuki’s response lacked enthusiasm. Even though she said it was okay, there was definitely something bothering her.
“Do you want to take a shower?”
When I asked, Natsuki lightly sniffed the chest area of her clothes.
“…I will take a bath.”
It seemed like the smell bothered her a bit.
I told her I’d bring her a towel later and gently pushed her towards the bathroom.
Before preparing the towel, I sent a message to Tanaka-san, one of Natsuki’s female friends who probably was also at the party, ‘Natsuki seems upset, did something happen?’.
She replied immediately.
“Ah, she got irritated because she was bothered by a senior known for being bad at reading the atmosphere. She seemed pretty annoyed, so make sure to comfort her.”
That seems to be the case.
So, Tanaka-san started complaining about various things like her getting involved and how she really wished she hadn’t come to the drinking party.
I sent her a message thanking her for telling me why she was in a bad mood, thinking that it must have been really annoying to make the usually mild-mannered Tanaka-san complain.
“Thanks for letting me know.”
“It’s okay, don’t worry about it. Well then, good luck taking care of her.”
With that, I finished exchanging messages with Tanaka-san.
Now then, I did say I will be bringing a towel…
I brought the towel and change of clothes to Natsuki, who’s in the shower.
“Sorry for the wait.”
Natsuki had finished her shower and came out of the bathroom.
“No problem, I just got out.”
“So, I heard… you were bothered by some annoying senior?”
I casually asked Natsuki as she dried herself with a towel.
She chuckled softly as she wiped off water droplets with the towel.
“Yeah, kinda.”
“Well, Natsuki is cute, after all.”
“That guy, he’s just creepy, hitting on anyone…”
“For you to call someone creepy, it must be really something.”
Natsuki often calls me creepy. But that’s because I’m not like everyone else. Natsuki seems distant and cool, but she’s polite to others in her usual demeanor. It’s precisely because of that, I can tell how troublesome the senior who approached her was.
“Sigh… Not realizing you’re disliked is truly the worst…”
“So, what did you eat today?”
Alright, let’s end the gloomy conversation there and switch to a brighter topic.
“I didn’t eat much.”
I tried to lighten the mood of the conversation, but it didn’t work. The conversation inevitably turned dark again. Well, today will be a day to let her vent.
“There’s leftover curry…”
“I’ll eat. Can I have the chuhai in the fridge too?”
She asked if she could drink the leftover alcohol from when I went out for drinks with my friends the other day? She didn’t really enjoy it, so I guess we’ll start over here.
“Okay, I’ll get it ready.”
I said to Natsuki, who was drying her hair with a hairdryer. Phew, even though I’m tired from work, comforting her is also part of being a boyfriend. Today, let’s pamper Natsuki, who had a rough time at the drinking party.

The bright sunlight seeped through the gap in the curtains. I woke up bathed in that light. And then, I heard moans coming from beside me.
“Ugh…”
Of course, the one moaning was Natsuki.
“…Seriously, serve you right for binge drinking.”
I gently rubbed Natsuki’s back. Yes, Natsumi had drank heavily in my room to relieve her frustration from dealing with the annoying senior. And she drank a 9% strong chuhai. It’s only natural she’s suffering from a hangover.
“It can’t be helped. I was upset from dealing with that annoying senior…”
“I know. That’s why I’m rubbing your back like this.”
After about 10 minutes of rubbing Natsuki’s back after waking up, I got out of bed, poured water into a glass, and handed it to Natsuki.
“Thanks…”
“What do you usually have for hangovers?”
“According to Saki, clam miso soup is good…”
“If Tanaka-san, the heavy drinker, says so, it must be right. So, should I make some?”
“Yeah…”
“Wait a moment.”
I filled the electric kettle with water and turned it on. While waiting for the water to boil, I went to the bathroom, washed my face, shaved, and applied the skincare product Natsuki gave me.
Alright, my morning routine is done. I returned to the kitchen, put miso soup mix into a bowl, poured the boiling water, and carried the clam miso soup to Natsuki, who was suffering in bed.
“Here, be careful not to spill.”
Perhaps because I warned her not to spill, Natsuki got up sluggishly from the bed and started slurping the clam miso soup noisily. After drinking the miso soup with a relieved expression, Natsuki complained to me.
“Isn’t it too bland?”
“I went through the trouble of making it, and you say that?”
“Sorry. That was too much.”
“…So, do you want anything else besides miso soup?”
“…A toothbrush? I forgot to brush last night and it feels gross.”
“Oh, I think I have one.”
I think there was a toothbrush in the amenity set I got during the trip. I headed towards the shelf, rummaging around to find it.
“Hey, Minato.”
“Hmm? What is it?”
While facing away from her, I responded to Natsuki. Then, Natsuki dropped a bombshell that threatened my solitary life.
“Can I leave some spare clothes and stuff in your room?”
“…To make sure I’m not inconvenienced when you stay over?”
I want to say no. Because if I say it’s okay and let her leave her clothes here… Natsuki might start hanging out in my room more often.
“Is that a no?”
“I’ll allow one set.”
“Why only one set?”
“If I let you leave too many clothes, you won’t go home…”
Even though it might seem too late since she’s stayed over for two days straight.
