Chapter 02: My Dad’s New Wife, and a Fateful Reunion
On my way home from what was supposed to be a date, I ended up saving a girl.
A few hours later, I found myself in a high-end hotel in Tokyo.
I had been summoned to the lounge of Kaida Resort Hotel, an ultra-luxurious place I had never set foot in before.
“Oi, Ryota! Over here!”
“Dad… You’re back in Japan?”
Sitting by the window was a large-built man—my old man, Tetsurou Iida.
He worked overseas as a veterinarian, constantly flying from one country to another.
“So, what’s this about? Calling me out to a hotel all of a sudden?”
“Ah, well! The thing is… I’m getting remarried! And I’m having dinner with my fiancée tonight, so I wanted you to meet her!”
“…Huh? Remarried?”
My family situation was a bit of a mess.
My mom had left when I was little. Tired of my dad constantly being away, she found another man and walked out on us.
I got left behind. But honestly, I didn’t care anymore.
“Yep! And she’s a real beauty. Apparently, she has a daughter too.”
“Wait, remarriage and a stepdaughter? That’s pretty sudden, don’t you think?”
“She takes after her mom—real looker. And guess what? She’s a high schooler, same age as you.”
“Haa… is that so…?”
My dad tilted his head slightly, as if recalling something.
“Hey, hey, that’s a pretty weak reaction. Where’s the whole ‘Whaaat?! Living with a girl my age?! No way!’ kinda response? C’mon, give me something fun!”
“Are you an idiot? What do you think this is, some rom-com manga? She may be my stepsister, but she’s still a stranger.”
“Tch, you’re no fun at all.”
I respected my dad—as a professional.
He was a veterinarian. And not just any kind, but one who worked with wild animals.
It was a dangerous job, but someone had to do it.
He risked his own safety to save lives. That was something to admire.
But as a father? Not so much.
He never looked after his family, always chasing his own ambitions, dragging us along for the ride.
I mean, the guy left me alone when I was just a kid, telling me to “take care of yourself from now on.”
I was still in elementary school.
…Well, thanks to that, I ended up getting pretty good at housework. Not that it was something to be proud of.
So yeah, hearing that he was suddenly getting remarried was surprising, sure.
But resisting it? Nah.
At this point, I was used to it.
“Do I sense some teenage angst? You seem kinda down.”
My dad suddenly threw that out there.
“W-What? How did you know?”
Was it… because he was my dad?
“Gahaha! Don’t underestimate a wildlife vet! I treat animals that can’t even speak, you know? I’ve gotten real good at reading emotions just from their expressions and movements!”
“Oh, is that so…? Then why didn’t you notice when Mom had enough and walked out?”
“Oh, I totally noticed she was getting annoyed! But, y’know, I had work… kept putting it off, and before I knew it—poof, she was gone!★”
…For someone so dedicated to his job, he sure didn’t put much effort into his own family.
Honestly, I had no idea how anyone agreed to marry this guy in the first place. Was she a saint or something?
…Well, whatever. Not my problem.
“So, what happened? Hmm? Wanna tell your old man all about it? Hm?”
I gave him a quick rundown of today’s events.
How my girlfriend—Mishiro—turned out to be a germophobe.
How she broke up with me because she couldn’t stand being touched by men.
And how I ended up saving a girl afterward.
“Hooh! You helped a girl in trouble? Damn, look at you! That’s my boy! You justice-loving hero, you!”
“It wasn’t like that… it was just a misunderstanding.”
I thought my ex was getting harassed by some thugs.
But it turned out she was just a different girl who looked exactly like Mishiro.
“I’m not the type to go out of my way to help random strangers.”
“Pfft, you’re such a bad liar. Either way, helping people’s always a good thing. You did well, kid.”
My dad grinned and ruffled my hair.
…Damn it.
This is why, no matter how frustrating he is, I can’t completely hate the guy.
“So? So?! What happened with that girl after that? You saved her, right? Isn’t this where the love story kicks in?!”
“Yeah, no. I just went home.”
“What?! Why?! You should’ve used that to your advantage! You totally had a shot!”
“Like hell I’d do something that shady—taking advantage of someone when they’re vulnerable.”
Besides, it’s not like I saved her because I wanted to.
I thought I was helping my ex. That’s the only reason I got involved. It was just a misunderstanding.
I wasn’t in any position to expect some kind of reward.
“Also…”
“Also?”
“She kinda gave off… a heavy vibe, y’know?”
That girl—Yuzuki—kept insisting on repaying me. Called me her savior, acted all intense about it.
Something about the way she spoke… gave me a weird feeling.
And since it turned out I had just mistaken her for someone else, I made my exit as quickly as possible.
“Hmm… what a waste… Oh! Ryota! They’re here! Oi, Mariko! Yuzuki-chan! Over here, over here!”
Looks like they have arrived.
…Wait. What did he just say?
I turned to look in the direction my dad was waving.
A stunning woman in a suit.
And beside her…
A girl in a school uniform.
“Wha—?! Y-You…! You’re that girl from before…!”
Soft, wavy hair.
A mini-skirt, slightly loosened jacket.
And—
A face that was identical to Mishiro’s.
“Oh? Ryota, you know Yuzuki-chan?”
“Know her? She’s literally the girl I just told you about…”
Yuzuki stood there, trembling slightly with her head down.
Was she… mad? Because I ran off earlier?
“I wanted to see you…!”
Before I could react, she suddenly dashed toward me—
And threw herself at me.
“Wha—!?”
I couldn’t even process what was happening before I lost my balance and fell backward.
Thud. A sharp impact shot up my back.
And then—
I found Yuzuki straddling me.
“W-What the hell are you—”
“I just really wanted to see you! I had to thank you properly!”
Still sitting on top of me, Yuzuki clung to me like a child, sobbing uncontrollably.
H-Hey… what’s with this girl…?
“Tetsurou-san, what’s going on here?”
Her mother—my dad’s fiancée—watched in complete confusion.
…Wait. So this was my soon-to-be stepmom?
Damn. She was gorgeous.
And that meant…
Yuzuki, the girl currently pinning me to the floor, was about to become my stepsister.
“Well, you see, it all went like this…”
My dad quickly explained everything.
“Oh my… I see. Fufu, I’m so glad our son is such a kind boy.♡”
“Right?! With a guy like him, their new life together will be totally safe and stress-free!”
…Wait.
Wait, wait, what?!
“D-Dad! What the hell did you just say?!”
He blinked at me innocently, tilting his head.
“You and Yuzuki-chan, living together. Just the two of you.”
“Wha—!? Why the hell would that happen?!”
“Well, I’m heading back overseas soon, and Mariko-san is coming with me. But Yuzuki still has to attend high school. Oh, and she’ll be going to the same school as you—Alpico Academy. So take care of her, yeah?”
…You’ve got to be kidding me.
The girl I saved earlier…
Was now my stepsister.
And we were going to be living together. Alone.
★
Now officially Yuzuki Iida, she had become Ryota’s stepsister.
At the moment, Yuzuki was alone in the hotel restroom.
“…………”
She had just met her new stepfather—Ryota’s father—for the first time.
After the introductions, everyone sat down for a formal dinner.
At some point, she excused herself and slipped into the restroom, leaning against the stall wall.
“I can’t believe it… This is unreal… I never thought I’d see him again this soon…♡”
Earlier today, Yuzuki had gone out shopping.
That was when she ran into trouble—cornered by some guys hitting on her.
And then, just like fate itself had planned it…
Ryota came to her rescue.
“hah… hah…♡“
Yuzuki’s breathing grew heavy.
Just thinking about Ryota, the one who had saved her, sent heat coursing through her body.
For certain reasons, Yuzuki had always despised men.
They were always nice to her—but it was never genuine.
Every guy who approached her had ulterior motives.
Their eyes, soaked in lust, would always linger on her body.
Men were disgusting.
Men were terrifying.
She had always believed that.
But Ryota was different.
He had helped a complete stranger.
And then—without expecting anything in return—he simply walked away.
What an incredible man.
Yuzuki had fallen for him in an instant.
And now…
“hah…♡ Onii-san…♡ I love you…♡ I want your baby…♡”
She reached into her pocket and pulled out a spoon.
It was the same one Ryota had used during their family dinner at the hotel restaurant.
She had snatched it when no one was looking.
Without hesitation, Yuzuki placed it in her mouth.
“Nnchu…♡ Nnpu♡ Hapuu♡ Chuu♡“
She licked and sucked on it with pure bliss, as if savoring the sweetest nectar.
“Onii-san…♡ I love you…♡ Ahh, I love you so much…♡ Living with you… what did I do to deserve this blessing…?♡”
Muttering feverishly to herself, Yuzuki indulged in her fantasies—losing herself in pure ecstasy.
TLN: How convenient.
