My Childhood Friend Who is My Girlfriend was Stolen by My Best Friend. From Now on, I'll Flirt with My Ex-Best Friend's Little Sister! - Chapter 51
From Now On… (3)
“I’ll repeat myself. Senpai is my boyfriend. At this point, if you think that a rotten bitch like you still have a chance in the heroine race, you are gravely mistaken. The only role you’re allowed to fill is his childhood friend. Don’t get that wrong. Got it?”
Rinka’s scolding voice echoes throughout the cafeteria.
Rinka’s lecture has been going for over 20 minutes now.
Airi puts her hands on her knees, cowering like a child caught in the act.
“…I’m not a bitch.”
“That’s rich coming from someone who tries to steal someone else’s boyfriend!”
“I-I was just speaking hypothetically! I wasn’t serious!”
“You looked pretty serious to me! So, what would you have done if Senpai had actually agreed with you being second?”
“W-Well…I’m not obligated to answer that.”
“Seriously, this girl…I just can’t get along with Tsukimiya-senpai!”
Rinka lets out an exasperated sigh and gulps down the green tea in her cup.
Then, she wraps her arms around me and leans in closer.
“W-Wha…what are you suddenly doing with Toshi-kun!”
“What’s wrong with being lovey-dovey with my boyfriend?”
“W-We’re at the cafeteria…t-think about what others will think!”
“Well, there are a lot of people flirting with their lovers here. Tsukimiya-senpai it’s not good to get jealous just because you don’t have a boyfriend. Jealousy is not good. It’s pathetic, you know?”
“Ugh…”
Rinka’s blunt words deal a mental blow to Airi.
Airi clutches her chest and lowers her gaze.
“Kukufufu…finally, it’s my turn.”
On the other hand, Rinka grins mischievously and laughs like a little devil.
Puzzled, I ask Rinka,
“Your turn? What do you mean?”
“Well, the truth is, I really hate Tsukimiya-senpai. No, I super hate her? Ultra hate her? Anyway, I just hate her.”
“…yeah, I figured that.”
“So, isn’t it amazing that I can flirt with Senpai in front of her? I can deal a lot of damage without breaking any laws. I’m in invincible mode now!”
What in the world is my girlfriend saying?
No, I kind of understand what she’s saying.
“Rin-chan, you have such a bad personality…”
“I don’t want to hear that from you, Tsukimiya-senpai.”
“F-Fine! I have the position of Toshi-kun’s childhood friend that no one else can reach!”
“Then, please be satisfied with that for the rest of your life ♪”
“You’re really annoying. Just because you got that little extra fat in your chest…”
“It’s better than having a flat chest.”
“I am not totally flat! It’s pretty big! Right? Mine are pretty big, aren’t they, Toshi-kun?”
Airi throws a very difficult question to me.
It’s obvious to anyone that Rinka’s breasts are huge. Airi’s are about average, I guess?
Although they look small in comparison to Rinka’s.
“…n-no, don’t ask me about it.”
“Toshi-kun, mohh.”
When I quickly look away, Airi laments in a pitiful voice.
Rinka has a completely triumphant look on her face. It seems like she is having a lot of fun.
Suddenly, I remember I have one more thing to give Airi.
As I rummage through my backpack, both of their eyes turn toward me.
I pull out the thing and place it on the table.
“Coincidentally, today is Airi’s birthday, isn’t it?”
“Y-Yeah…that’s right. It’s my birthday.”
Airi’s eyes widen in surprise and tears well up.
She nods with a slightly trembling voice.
“So, here, for you.”
“…are you sure?”
It has been two years since I bought it.
So, it’s probably gone down in value quite a bit, but it was quite expensive when I bought it that I had to ask my parents for my part-time job pay in advance.
I could’ve sold it, but for some reason, I just kept holding onto it.
It’s not something I need anyway. So, giving it to her feels like the best option.
“A camera?”
Rinka stares at the gift with a puzzled look on her face.
I give a faint smile and scratch my cheek awkwardly.
“Airi, you like to take pictures, so I thought something like this would make you happy.”
“Hmm. By the way, how much did you pay for it?”
“Let’s see…I think it was…”
“…i-it’s so expensive!”
When I whisper the price in her ear, Rinka gives an exaggerated reaction.
A gift isn’t about the price, but when you want to buy something that will make someone happy, it’s easy to loosen the purse strings.
Airi looks at the present with a blissful expression on her face.
“Thank you, Toshi-kun.”
“You’re welcome.”
“I’ll treasure it forever. Forever and ever.”
“Y-You don’t have to treasure it that much.”
“Ehehehe.”
Airi chuckles so, hugging the box with the camera inside as if it were her own child.
Seeing her happy makes me feel both glad and a bit embarrassed…it’s a strange mix of emotions.
As I’m looking at Airi’s reaction, a pain suddenly run through my side.
Rinka pinches me hard.
“Ouch! R-Rinka, what are you doing!?”
“I feel like I’m left out and it pisses me off. Now I totally understand how the main heroine feels when they focus too much on the sub heroines.”
“What kind of overly specific example is that!?”
Rinka puffs out her cheeks and glares at me with a resentful look on her face.
She tightly wraps around my arm and leans in close, refusing to let go.
Then Airi’s expression, which had been radiating happiness just moments ago, completely changes. It feels like there’s this dark aura emanating from behind her.
“I told you before, Rin-chan. Stop flirting with Toshi-kun.”
“I’ll never stop, even if I die. Just sit there and watch.”
“…I hope your relationship explodes.”
“I can’t believe there are still people who say things like that…you’re an endangered species. Let’s take a moment to appreciate her, Toshi-kun.”
“That’s mine! Why is Rin-chan calling you by ‘Toshi-kun’!? Don’t copy my way of calling him!”
“Whatever I call you is up to me. Right, Toshi-kun?”
“You’re really awful, Rin-chan!”
Rinka and Airi start to argue with each other.
Due to the physical distance created by the table, they are able to end the argument verbally, but if the table weren’t there, it seems like it could have escalated into a physical fight.
