Hugging My Best Friend’s Little Sister

Before I knew it, I’m already in the classroom.

Even though Rinka-chan has decided to help me, I ended up running away.

I sit in the front row by the window.

I rest my chin on my hand and stare out the window at the line of students arriving one after another.

There is nothing particularly interesting about it. But right now, it’s nice to be able to focus my attention on something else besides Airi.

Suddenly, my smartphone rings.

I look at it and see that I received a message from Rinka-chan.

‘Senpai, where are you now? If you have time, please come to the vending machine under the gym.’

I still have some time before the morning homeroom starts.

After sending a brief reply, I decided to go to where Rinka-chan is.

Well, this is because at my high school, the gym is located on the second floor.

Below the gym, there is a room that is usually used as the judo club’s practice room…and near that room, there is the vending machine that I’m heading to now to meet Rinka-chan.

As expected, I didn’t pass by anyone on the way there.

Rinka-chan starts shadowboxing while making her own sound effects.

Her gestures are so funny that I can’t help but laugh.

Rinka-chan tilts her head in confusion.

“What is it, Senpai? Is there something on my face?”

“No, it’s just that…I’m glad you’re here, Rinka-chan.”

“Eh…”

She got angry for me. Just that alone is somewhat comforting.

It makes me feel like I don’t have to be depressed on my own.

“Y-Yeah, of course! After all, I’m just a terrible, manipulative girl who’s taking advantage of your heartbreak to force my way into being your cheating partner. On top of that, I want to get back at her for hurting you while hoping that I will get a chance to flirt with you!”

Rinka-chan immediately belittles herself.

“You’re being too hard on yourself! I don’t think you’re manipulative or anything like that!”

I quickly deny her words. I really don’t think that she’s manipulative at all.

The current state of our relationship is quite distorted.

Until yesterday, she was just my best friend’s little sister. Nothing more, nothing less.

But now, she is my partner to help me with my revenge. Although she is taking the role of my cheating partner, I’m not really cheating on Airi with Rinka-chan.

It might be better to clarify our relationship.

I know that very well, but given that my relationship with Airi is still continuing, making that decision wouldn’t be honest.

I guess this is proof that I really was just seeing her as my best friend’s little sister.

Rinka-chan opens her arms, ready to welcome me in. It seems that I can’t refuse her request.

She doesn’t have the right to tell me not to do the same thing.

Gently, I wrap my hand around Rinka-chan’s back.

I can feel her warmth close to me. I can feel her gentle breath brushing against my ear.

Rinka-chan also wraps her arms around my back.

Then, she gently strokes me as if soothing a child.

“You don’t have to worry. I’m here for you. I’ll never make you sad, Senpai.”

Rinka-chan’s words fill the hole in my heart.

Just for a while, I want to stay like this and feel her warmth.
