Encounter

Everyone in class know that we are dating, but it is rarely brought up.

First of all, Kana never talks about me with her friends, and I don’t talk to her out of concern for her, then I don’t talk to her as her boyfriend in class as well.

Even though our classmates know that we are dating, the boys don’t hesitate inviting Kana to hang out with them after school, and she often accepts their invitation and goes out with them.

Seeing them hanging out together makes me feel jealous and disgusted, so at such times I go to the student council room even if I have nothing to do to kill time.

I’ve never been to karaoke with her, and I’ve never even heard her sing. I don’t want to see her go out with a happy face without saying no to a boy in class if he asks her out.

If I go to the student council room after school, the student council president and vice president are there almost every day.

The student council president is Shinonome Setsuna-san, she is my second-year senpai. She’s my senior since middle school, and she’s the one who invited me to join the student council.

The vice president is Kurusu Yuki-san, she is also my second-year senpai.

Setsuna-san knows Kana, and she knows we are dating.

She also knows about our cold relationship and, she really cares about us.

“Kana-chan went out to play leaving Mugi-kun alone again today, didn’t she?”

“…yeah. She has a lot of friends, so she’s always busy after school.”

“Are you okay with that?”

“Yeah, it’s fine.”

“Huh…”

This kind of conversation in the student council room has become a regular occurrence.

I appreciate your concern Setsuna, but it makes me look miserable.

When it is time to leave school, I go home with Setsuna because her house is in the same direction as mine.

We usually talk about various things on our way home.

We talk about everything, from other members of the student council, hobbies, what’s for dinner tonight, movies we want to see, love, and even memories from middle school.

Today, when I walk to the front of the station while chatting with Setsuna, Kana is there too.

Kana is alone with a handsome boy in our class, who is touching Kana’s body and happily talking with her.

Kana smiles at him happily in a way she never smiled at me before, they are like lovers.

I thought that maybe they are already in that kind of relationship, and I don’t want them to realize that I’m here now.

“I’m sorry Setsuna-san, but I have some things to do.”

“Eh? All of the sudden?”

Setsuna also noticed that Kana is there, but why didn’t she call out to her? That’s what I thought.

“I’m sorry, it’s urgent…see you tomorrow.”

After saying so, I start to walk toward the shopping mall in front of the station.

‘I wonder if two of three trains later they would be gone already.’

I thought so to myself.

Then I spent some time in the mall and head for the bookstore in the building.

As I was about to enter the bookstore—

“Wait!”

Someone grabbed me by the arm and said so.

I’m startled as I turn around to see it is Setsuna.

“Eh? Setsuna-san, you didn’t go home?”

“Come a minute.”

Without telling me why, she forcefully pulls on my arm.

She takes me to a coffee shop with my arm in her hand and forces me to sit down.

Then Setsuna ordered two coffees, her eyes are dead serious.

“You should break up with Kana-chan.”
