ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー
“Ah, Sayu-chan. Your soft-serve is dripping.”
White soft-serve ice cream dripped down Sayuki’s small hand.
“Aah, I can’t eat it properly…”
“Here, like this. Lick along the underside from the bottom. Leroo…”
“Like this…? Leroo…”
“That’s right, that’s right. You fix the shape like that.”
“Got it! It’s cold and yummy!”
Yuki was instructing Sayuki, who was struggling to eat her soft-serve.
I don’t really get it, but the way Yuki is teaching her feels kind of suggestive. What on earth is she teaching a kid? Honestly, that’s outrageous. This is a problem.
“What’s wrong, Hiro-san? Are you having trouble eating yours too?”
“As if I would.”
“You say that, but yours is dripping. The ice cream.”
“Wha-!? That’s just because it melted a little!”
“I wonder what you were so absorbed in that you didn’t notice it melting. Right, Sayu-chan?”
“Right~”
Because I was watching the two of you having such a heartwarming moment, obviously. More importantly, this sister duo was way too powerful together. It felt like the world itself might kneel before them. And then, into this sacred scene, one tactless intruder appeared. He showed up, oozing in like a zombie.
“N-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-naaa!!??”
I really think this guy’s language function is broken.
“Hey, Hiro-kun. There’s a weird person over there~”
“Don’t pay attention to him, Sayu~ People like that will get taken away by the police~”
Honestly, I wish they actually would take him away. Don’t interrupt my time with an angel.
“Hey! Hiro Asama! What the hell is going on hereeeee!!??”
Of course it’s me? He’s calling me out?
I wanted to believe he wasn’t looking at us.
Little Pig-kun, seriously. Go kneel in front of Yuki. Maybe she’ll let you be her chair or something.
“…What do you mean, what’s going on?”
“What is that little girl?”
“An angel.”
“An angel…! Indeed! No, that’s not the point! Who is that little girl!?”
“Who is she? She’s Yuki’s little si—”
“I didn’t know that you and Yuki-sama were already married and even had a child!!??”
“…Huh?”
At least listen to me first.
“You betrayed me!”
“What are you even talking about?”
“If it’s not betrayal, then what is it!? And more importantly, having a child like that, isn’t that a crime!? Officer! Arrest him!”
Wait, why am I the one being reported!? But… I guess it might look that way? If you see Yuki, a little angel who looks like her, and me together… no, normally you’d think she’s her little sister.
Maybe if it were at the kindergarten pickup you could jump to that conclusion, but right now there was no way anyone sane would think she was our daughter.
This guy’s brain is broken.
“Hey, Isogai. Calm down a little.”
“This is no time to be calm—”
“Mister, are you angry?”
“Hwah!? W-what is it, little lady?”
An angel appeared right in front of the raging Isogai.
Also, his reaction is gross.
“Hey, stop. Sayu, don’t get close to him. He’s a weirdo.”
“Don’t say things that make me sound suspicious! I am a perfectly decent, law-abiding citizen!”
Says the stalking, masochistic pig.
“Mister, when you’re angry, you should eat something sweet. When I eat sweets, I feel happy. Want some of my ice cream?”
“Wait a moment, little lady. I appreciate the offer, but I am not a mister—”
“You don’t want it…?”
Sayuki looked up at him with teary eyes.
If you make this kind, gentle angel cry, I swear I’ll knock you out.
“—! My angel… M-maybe I’ll have a bite.”
“Okay! Then, say aaah.”
“A-ah—”
A suspicious man about to be fed by a little girl. But of course, that wasn’t going to be allowed.
“Excuse me, Pig No. 1. Could you not make Sayuki do anything strange?”
“Hwah!? Yuki-sama!? I-I’m terribly sorry!!”
The moment Yuki appeared beside him with a dark look in her eyes, Isogai slid backward at incredible speed. Way too fast.
“Mister, you didn’t want Sayu’s ice cream after all… uuu…”
“N-no, that’s not it, my angel!”
“Please don’t call my child that. It’s disgusting.”
“Hyii! (tremble tremble)”
Isogai completely prostrated himself. Yet his expression looked extremely happy. Honestly, disgusting. Then Yuki crouched down and spoke at eye level with Sayuki.
“Sayu-chan, Hiro-san will give that pig-san some ice cream instead, so you should eat yours properly, okay?”
Wait, me? I’m not giving him anything.
But the fact that she didn’t say “there’s no ice cream for pigs” was probably Yuki’s kindness.
Still, I’m not giving him any.
“Really?”
“Yes. And this is something Hiro-san bought for you, Sayu-chan. If you give it away and waste it, Hiro-san will be sad.”
“…Okay. Got it! I’ll eat my ice cream!”
“Good. Make sure to enjoy it properly.”
“Okay!”
Sayuki smiled brightly again. It was like a flower in full bloom, a smile that would make anyone who saw it feel happy. Ah… that was a nice story. An older sister protecting her little sister who was about to be tricked by a suspicious person. A wonderful drama. Front page news for tomorrow.
“…What about how I’m being treated…”
“Don’t cry over there. Just enjoy it.”
“It pierced my heart more than pure insults… A ‘waste,’ she said… I wanted her to feed me too…”
“…She’s not going to, okay?”
“Who asked you!?”
Isogai cried off in the distance. It seemed his masochism level still wasn’t high enough. Though he apparently earned the title of lolicon. And so, Isogai and the other pigs became servants of both Yuki and Sayuki. Apparently, there was even internal division forming between the Yuki faction and the Sayuki faction.
What happened to your loyalty to Yuki?
Well, Sayuki is an angel. So I guess it can’t be helped. Ah, come to think of it, I never actually explained that Sayuki is Yuki’s little sister.

“Hiro-san, Hiro-san. Thank you for today. For playing with Sayuki.”
“No, it’s nothing. I had fun too, so I’ll go along with it anytime.”
In the end, Sayuki ate dinner at my place and then fell asleep not long after.
“I’m glad to hear that.”
Sitting on the living room sofa, Yuki leaned her body against me with a small thump. She looked a little sleepy too.
“Hey, you’re heavy.”
“I’m not heavy.”
“I see…”
“When we’re with Sayuki, do we really look like a married couple?”
“No, that’s just Isogai being weird. Normally people would think we’re siblings or something.”
“I see… By the way, who is Isogai-san?”
“Ah… well… who knows…”
Did those pigs accept being pigs so much that they didn’t even introduce themselves?
“Hmm, a relationship of yours that I don’t know about…”
“No, you don’t need to worry about it.”
“…? Well… fine. I’ll look into it later.”
Even if she investigates, all she’ll learn is that they’re pigs…
But with her sleepiness reaching its limit, Yuki seemed to settle on dealing with it later.
“But right now… we might not look like a married couple… but someday, a future like that… if it… exis…ts… Yu…ki… is… …zz…”
As she spoke, Yuki fell asleep. I think I knew what she was trying to say. But was I imagining the same future as her? A future like that, for someone like me who no longer had a family. I couldn’t find anything like an answer, and in the end, I stopped thinking about it.
“Good night, Yuki.”
I gently stroked her beautiful hair. Her sleeping face looked more innocent than usual, and cute. It looked like both Yuki and Sayuki would be staying over tonight. I should contact the Fujisaki household.
And so, the night quietly deepened.
