My Childhood Friend is a Yandere - Chapter 1 part 1
April and From The Window of the Outcast
I found a love letter in a shoebox.
After school, I went to the designated empty classroom with a hint of anticipation, and sure enough, my childhood friend Ginchiyo Kanamori was standing there.
“Yu-kun, I love you, I love you, I love you so much!”
Along with her hundreds of confessions, she hugged me with such force that it felt like she was about to jump at me.
“Shut up. Get away from me. Because of you, everyone misunderstood me and I can’t make any friends at all.”
“It’s not a misunderstanding. Ginchiyo loves Yu-kun, so she’s just telling everyone about it.”
She puffed her cheeks out like a hamster and pressed her chest against my arm. It was an embarrassing behavior for a normal girl, but for this guy, it was intentional.
Maintaining a sense of normalcy, I managed to pull her off and sighed.
“I keep telling you, you and I are just childhood friends, and I don’t really like you.”
“I’ll make you change your mind someday, so don’t worry.”
“It’s your brain that worries me. Go somewhere else with your baseless confidence.”
“How sweet of Yu-kun to care for Ginchiyo! Thank you! I’ll do my best!”
After all, this guy is dangerous. A few screws are loose. I still had no friends even after a month since entering high school because this guy was following me around like this.
We had just gotten to be in different classes, but every time we had a break, she would be standing in front of my desk. Even if I was slumped on my desk and pretended to be asleep, she’d blow on my ear and get in my way, until I couldn’t stand it.
And for the record, that was still a lot better.
When I first entered the school, I was terrified of her because she took the trouble to bring her desk next to my seat and started taking classes normally, even though she was in the class next to mine.
“Let me be clear. You’re a nuisance. I can’t enjoy my youth with you hanging around me.”
Thanks to you, my nickname is 「The guy who is loved by Menhera」. Nobody remembers my real name. My mental health was in tatters because they have been talking about me behind my back from afar. (TL: Menhera means mentally unstable)
“Why don’t you go out with me and enjoy yourself?”
Ginchiyo casually said to me, but if I did, then I would feel like I had lost. And more importantly…..
“I’m not going out with a stalker girl like you.”
“? Ginchiyo is not a stalker. She just likes Yu-kun.”
There was nothing worse than being oblivious.
“The act of following someone is called stalking. Why the hell is a major graduate going to the same third-rate high school as me in the first place?”
Ginchiyo had excellent grades and was a genius to the extent that she could answer middle school questions.
By the time I was born and had mastered hiragana, she had passed the second level of the Chinese Language Proficiency Test and had mastered English and Chinese.
It was in sixth grade of elementary school that Ginchiyo began to participate in the study group held by professors of Tokyo University, and her thesis, which she co-written, was selected as an excellent thesis by the Japanese Mathematical Society. The list of episodes was endless.
When we were in the same kindergarten, I was doodling during drawing time, and when I asked her what she was drawing, she said she was calculating the trajectory of a rocket, commissioned by the private sector.
In second grade, during a test, when there was extra time left, she drew such an exact copy of “Mona Lisa” on the back of the printout that the impressed teacher became tongue tied and gave her 150 points, this became the legend of Funetama Second Elementary school.
A master of memorization as well as calculation, with extraordinary insight and intelligence, she was always rational in her actions.
What’s irrational is that she’s obsessed with me, that’s all.
“Because I wanted to go to high school with you. Because I love you.”
Ginchiyo said in a tone of voice as if she was saying a universal truth.
“Don’t follow me. I want to go to a world without you.”
“Do you hate me?”
“I don’t hate you, but stop following me around.”
“Thank you. Ginchiyo loves you too. I would like two children.”
“I didn’t say I liked you either.”
She had convenient ears.
“Look, I want to spend my youth like everyone else. I can’t do it with you around, so I’m asking you to pull your weight.”
“Why?”
“Ha?”
“Isn’t Ginchiyo cute?”
She put her hand on her chin and looked up at me flirtatiously.
“……Well, yes.”
“Also smart”
“Yeah”
“Personality is also good.”
“I don’t know about that.”
“What are you dissatisfied with?”
She tilted her head to the side. The answer was obvious.
“You’re stalking me! You set up a hidden camera in my room again!”
“Teehee~” (TL: sticks her tongue out)
“I told you there won’t be a third time. We’re through.”
When I was cleaning my room yesterday, I found a small camera on my dresser. The red light, hidden by black tape, was lit and it was clear that it was active. By the way, this was the second time since the beginning of this year, and the third time in total.
“I’m sorry! Forgive me! It was just an impulse!”
Ginchiyo bowed her head demurely. I forgave her the last time, but this time, I was not going to let her get away with it. Just as I was about to yell at her from my rekindling anger, she muttered to herself.
“It’s normal to want to know about the person you like, right? Yu-kun, I was wondering what you wanted for your birthday.”
“Oh, so the PS4 that was delivered at the end of last month…..”
On the last Sunday of the month, I was lounging around in my living room when it was delivered by courier.
“It was a present from Ginchiyo! Now we can play games again. But don’t cheat on me or anything online.”
By the way, the last console I had was smashed by this woman. She didn’t like the fact that I had befriended a girl my age on Boychat.
“Wow, seriously. I thought it was from my dad. Seriously. …… No, uh, what can I say, thank you.”
I assumed it was a gift from my father, a banker who works alone in Nagano Prefecture. No wonder when I thanked him on line, he responded with a “question” mark.
“If you’re happy with it, I’m happy for you, too. But if you’re going to give me something in return, I’d like you to sign here.”
She took a clear file out of her bag and spread the papers inside on the desk.
“I’ve already stamped it.”
“What the heck are you doing bringing a marriage certificate to school?! It’s disturbing!”
“There’s also a Zexy. I like the idea of a white chapel” (TL: Zexy is a Japanese wedding planning and bridal magazine)
She pulled a ridiculously thick magazine out of her student bag and placed it on the desk with a thump.
“How did you fit that in the bag?”
She flipped open the docked pages and smiled angelically.
“If it’s for Yu-kun, I’ll do my best.”
“There are as many people better than me as there are stars. Just so you know, I don’t look that good, have a bad personality, and I’m not very smart.”
“I love all of you, including that part.”
I wish you could have denied at least one of them……
When I looked visibly depressed, Ginchiyo turned to me with a gorgeous smile.
“I also like how you’re a little spineless.”
I was almost hugged. My heart fluttered a little, but I’ll just say it was my imagination. I managed to dodge the embrace with a backstep.
“Get away from me! Anyhow don’t follow me!”
“Impossible!”
She flatly refused, almost refreshingly so.
“It can’t be helped that I fell in love with you. I can’t stop the excitement from overflowing from my chest. I want to be with you forever, that’s all.”
I heard that Ginchiyo just loves me, but I couldn’t accept her feelings genuinely.
She was beautiful and smart if she kept quiet.
That’s why,
“It just seems like some kind of a trap!”
Nodding her head, Ginchiyo continued.
