My Adorable Daughter Can't Be A Villainess - Chapter 1- Reborn and shock
“Huh?” I couldn’t help but exclaim as light returned to my eyes. I thought I was dead a moment ago. It was too real to call a dream. I had indeed died… most probably because of a heart attack.
But then… why do I feel so alive that I want to run around a bit? And why am I sitting in front of a woman I don’t know, even though she seems strangely familiar?
Wait… is this the afterlife? This woman looks like an angel, but does an angel frown like that?
Wait… I am alive, right? I put food in the microwave, so it should be done by now… wait, but I died rushing toward it… oh, and today the next volume of that manga releases… and I should– wait, aren’t I dead?
“Eric!”
“Ah!” I jolted back to life upon hearing her call out to me. Wait, me?
Since when was I named Eric?
And why was this woman… wait. Eric? My gaze dropped to my hands. They were bigger than the ones I remembered. My body felt lighter, and the height of my vision was noticeably higher than I was used to.
Is there any chance…
“Umm… can you give me a moment? I think I need to use the restroom.” I was startled by my own voice. It sounded like I drank hot soup right after cold soda to forge this deep tone.
The woman narrowed her eyes as if she wanted to say something, but I was far too busy having a full-blown identity crisis.
I somehow stood up without knocking anything off the table and turned around.
I was wearing a suit for some reason, and my height was definitely different… like I’d been propped up on a stool. But the way I moved felt too natural for that. If these were prosthetics, I’d be wobbling or dragging at least one foot, not strolling like this.
I spotted the bathroom sign a few meters away. Thankfully, it’s far enough that I wouldn’t have to interact with anyone else before figuring out what situation I had been dropped into.
I entered the bathroom, and the first thing I searched for was a mirror. Luckily, several large mirrors were mounted on the wall right opposite the entrance.
My eyes widened. This situation really was unbelievable.
I approached the mirror in a daze. There was no digital screen. This… was a real reflection. And the person staring back at me was unmistakably me.
My hair was long and violet, brushing my shoulders and gathered into a short ponytail. My sharp violet eyes were currently widened in shock. Understandably so, considering the face I was looking at. I appeared to be a tall man in his early thirties, though the faint wrinkles on my forehead and at the corners of my eyes added a touch more age. The body was tall and slim as well, a dramatic contrast to the bulky physique I’d once been stuck with.
There was no denying it. I had died and reincarnated into the world I once read as a novel.
Eric Blackwood. That was my name. A man with a strict personality, and not exactly a likeable character. He was introduced as a professor in the academy where the protagonist enrolled. But that wasn’t what made him noteworthy.
Rather… it was the cause of the death of Eric Blackwood.
‘Oh fuck!’ I suddenly remembered the woman I’d left outside. She might be my savior! If she left now, I might as well be doomed.
With that panicked thought, I didn’t spare another second and dashed outside.
My eyes darted to the table where I had been sitting… and, much to my joy (sarcasm), it was empty.
I didn’t waste time. I grabbed the nearest waiter and asked, “Where did that lady go? The one with long silver hair?”
Since silver hair wasn’t exactly common in this fantasy world, the waiter quickly answered, “She just exited the store and went that way.”
He pointed to the left. I reached into my pocket and pulled out what felt like a gold coin, dropping it into the waiter’s hand before hurrying out.
‘Please be there…’ I prayed she was just outside waiting for me, not leaving before finishing whatever conversation she came for.
But my hopes shattered the moment I stepped out. Only my carriage stood there and not the woman I was searching for.
I rushed to the coachman, who immediately straightened and bowed. “Welcome–”
“Hurry, tell me if you saw the woman who came with me!” I cut him off. The driver flinched but quickly understood and pointed left.
“She walked in that direction Professor Eric… she was swaying a little.”
I nodded and sprinted off.
I had to… had to talk to her. Not only my fate, but this world’s fate depended on it.
After all, the woman I was pursuing was the mother of none other than the Villainess.
And I, Eric Blackwood, was her biological father.

Nnn..?
Oh, this is refreshing! A story about the MC reincarnating as the parent to the villainess, BEFORE she is even BORN! How original! While this is only the first chapter, and would be wise to keep my counsel, I’m already liking this story, and I hope that it continues to be good. So far, 5 stars.
