Volume 2 The Demon King and the Hero Confront the Bully
Chapter 6 The Demon King, the Hero, Confronting the Bully
Standing before us was the bully boss, also known as Sasakura Gouki.
Indeed, he seemed stronger than the other elementary school students.
At the very least, he had a bigger and more muscular physique compared to Kageyo and Sora Aoi.
Even when compared to other passing elementary school students, he stood out.
Sasakura spoke in a menacing tone.
“I thought the ghost had gone to the afterlife, but here you are, back again!”
Now, what should I do?
Of course, as the Demon King, I have no reason to fear an elementary school bully.
Even if I might be physically inferior, our knowledge of combat is vastly different.
Without hesitation, I could seek revenge against Kageyo’s enemy right here and now.
However, I hesitate.
While what he did is unforgivable, I’m not sure if engaging in a serious fight with a child is appropriate.
In the end, I chose to ignore Sasago and continued toward the school building entrance.
Isumi asked me.
“What’s up with that fatso?”
“Who knows? Maybe he’s just a pig roasted by the summer heat.”
Our words ignited Sasakura’s anger.
“You guys, don’t you dare underestimate me!”
Hmmm, this boy seems to have a lower boiling point for anger than the Heroine.
I continued walking, ignoring him.
But then, Sasakura swiftly moved in front of me.
Surprisingly nimble for someone of his size.
Furthermore, he grabbed my right arm.
Mmm… I can’t believe I let someone like him catch my arm.
I let my guard down despite knowing how weak my physical body is. It’s humiliating.
“Kageyo, you’ve got some nerve ignoring me!”
“Sorry about that. Ghosts can’t communicate with humans.”
I said that while shaking off Sasakura’s grip.
Although there’s a difference in strength, he’s just a kid. It’s easy to deal with him.
Sasakura glared at me intensely.
“What the…!”
Woah! He suddenly tried to throw a punch at me.
I easily dodged his fist.
“Don’t dodge my attacks!”
Well, why not? I can dodge them.
Even after that, he wildly swung his fists at me, but I effortlessly avoided them with minimal movements.
Indeed, compared to Kageyo, Sasakura might be physically stronger.
However, with such wasteful movements, there’s no way he could catch the movements of me, the Demon King.
“Damn it!”
Sasakura already seemed out of breath.
Maybe he lacks endurance despite having muscles?
He should consider doing aerobic exercises along with strength training.
Well, I suppose I can say the same to Kageyo, who seems to lack both strength and aerobic exercise.
I decided to give him some advice.
“Enough already. You’re no match for me in a fight.”
“You, Kageyo, aaargh!”
Oh, he’s still trying to throw punches at me.
Now he’s attempting a kick.
Well, either way, it’s a piece of cake to dodge everything.
Seeing this, Sora exclaimed, “Wow, Kageyo, you’re amazing!”
To that, Sasakura shouted, “Sora! Don’t think you can talk to me like that and get away with it!”
Oh, what a barking dog… I mean, what a pig.
Isumi frowned and asked, “Hey, what’s the deal with this chubby guy?”
It seems she can’t quite grasp the situation.
Even if she didn’t read the diary, can’t she figure it out somehow?
“Isumi! Don’t think being a girl gives you a free pass!”
After his outburst, Sasakura now lunged at Isumi.
Uh oh, this could be bad.
While I was hesitating about whether to intervene or not, Isumi took action.
She executed a spinning kick to Sasakura’s right side, followed by an elbow strike to his face, and then a powerful kick to his groin, delivering the finishing blow.
“Aargh!”
Sasakura fell to the ground.
I guess it ended up like this.
Isumi’s physical strength is not that great, but if she fully utilizes her experience as a hero, this is what you get.
But, man, that must hurt.
Especially the last kick to the groin; as a fellow man, I can’t help but sympathize unconditionally.
I said to Isumi, “Hey, you went a little too far.”
“Huh? I only fought back because he attacked me,” she replied.
That’s true, but still.
It feels a bit immature to retaliate against a kid.
But, well, whatever.
Considering what was written in that diary, he probably deserved it. If anything, it might not have been enough.
Isumi seemed completely uninterested in the fallen Sasakura as she said to me and Sora,
“Anyway, let’s hurry and go to the classroom. We don’t want to be late.”
That’s true.
There’s no point in staying here any longer.
Sora stepped forward.
“Yeah, let me guide you to the entrance.”
Saying that, Sora started walking, and Sasakura stood up while clutching his groin, barking at him.
“You, Sora! Are you planning to side with Kageyo and them? You have no idea what will happen to you later, do you!?”
Sora turned back to Sasakura and replied, “I… I am Kageyo’s friend! He helped me when I was in trouble. And even though I did terrible things… he said he forgave me! I won’t betray my friends anymore!”
“What did you say?”
“I won’t listen to anything you say anymore! If you want to hit me, go ahead!”
Certainly, Sora might be scared.
With bravado, Sora’s hands trembled.
Even so, the boy showed courage by standing up against the cowardly bully and defying him.
I recalled the contents of the diary and returned to Sasago’s side for a moment. In a voice that only he could hear, I spoke coldly.
“You know, Sasajura, I forgot to mention one thing. If you ever lay a finger on Hikaru, I’ll crush you with all my might.”
“What…?”
“Whether you get thrown off the rooftop or hit by a car… either way, you better be prepared to become a real ghost. If you’re not ready for that, don’t you dare touch my family. And of course, the same goes for Sora-kun.”
Sasakura turned pale.
Naturally.
Even though I may look like a kid, I am still the Demon Lord.
Intimidating a brat like him is way too easy.
Shivering, Sasakura asked, “Are you really Kageyo…?”
“Who knows? After all, I died once before. There’s nothing left to fear now.”
Sasakura knelt on the ground again.
Well, threatening him like this should prevent him from doing anything harmful to Hikaru.
I turned my back to Sasakura and walked toward the entrance.
From behind, I heard his yelling, “You, Kageyo, Sora, and Isumi! Remember this, it’s not over yet!”
The howling of a defeated dog, I suppose.
Without even looking back, I replied, “You still have the energy to howl. I’ll give you credit for that.”
I laughed out loud and followed Sora’s lead towards the entrance.
