Magic Maker – How to make magic in another world –
Chapter 159 I knew it would come someday
“As usual, we found ourselves in the Fairy Forest, Alsphere.”
“Wow, it’s amazing!”
Winona looked around the forest with a sense of awe.
And it’s no wonder.
It’s her first time seeing magic.
Literally, the world has changed for her.
I watched Winona with a fond smile.
Suddenly, I felt a small amount of magic.
“Good morning, Shion!”
Melfi flew over from a distance.
Coming right up to me, she showed me a smiling face.
With my improved ability to sense magic accurately, I could understand what Melfi was saying without even looking at her.
Well, at least the words I know at this point.
“Good morning, Melfi. Any changes?”
“None! There are no monsters, and it’s very peaceful!”
Since the day we arrived in Alsphere, in other words, from the second day onward, there hasn’t been a single sighting of monsters. Despite Sister and Dominic searching desperately, not a single one has appeared. The mystery of where the monsters came from remains unsolved.
Winona, who had been surveying the forest nearby, somehow appeared next to me.
“Hello, Melfi-san.”
With her words, Winona released oral magic. However, Melfi, not understanding the meaning of the words, just tilted her head.
“Could it be that my oral magic didn’t come out?”
“No, it came out properly.”
“That’s a relief… but it seems it didn’t get through to Melfi-san.”
“Well, human language-based oral magic is different from fairy language. It would be easy if converting human language directly into oral magic turned it into fairy language, but in reality, it becomes completely different oral magic.”
“Oh, I see. I thought they were the same.”
When using oral magic with fairy language and human language, the meanings become entirely different. Additionally, fairy language requires delicate magic adjustment and manipulation through magic senses, unlike oral magic with human language, which is based on the intentions and emotions at that moment. While it’s possible to speak a rudimentary fairy language without using magic senses, doing so requires considerable knowledge and skill, and currently, only the Count and I can manage it.
“All the combinations of magical types, magical colors, and sizes of magic have to be memorized before you can use the bare minimum of fairy language. From there, you can use magic senses to grasp the subtle differences in magic, the sensations, and with magic manipulation, you can speak fairy language perfectly.”
“It sounds like mastering fairy language is quite challenging.”
“Yeah, it’s a pretty difficult language, I think.”
As we continued talking, I suddenly realized how close we were. I hadn’t noticed due to being engrossed in the conversation. Simultaneously, we both noticed it and quickly moved away from each other.
“If you practice, you’ll be able to speak a little.”
“Y-Yes! I’ll do my best!”
During this exchange, we made eye contact with Count Goltba. The Count looked at us with a smile and then gave them a thumbs up. What is he doing?
“By the way, it’s been a month since we came to Ajolam.”
“Is that so? I thought it had been about half a year already!”
“Well, we’ve spent such a dense time here.”
“Somehow, I’ve gotten used to this forest. It’s very comfortable here.”
The four of us expressed our individual thoughts. Huh? Four people?
“Oh? Come to think of it, where’s Dominic?”
“I forgot about him since he’s so unassuming… he’s not here.”
Sis, that’s a bit pitiful, I think. I can’t say anything since I forgot too.
“He said he had some business to attend to and mentioned stopping by the castle. He’ll be back soon.”
“I see. Well then, let’s get back to our usual tasks.”
“Yes! So, we’ll focus on analyzing the fairy language.”
“I’ll handle things like preparing meals.”
“I’ll patrol the forest. We’ve seen almost all of it, but there’s still no sign of monsters.”
“Hmm, maybe they’re in some place like a fairy habitat.”
“That’s the only possibility. Since even Shion’s magic sense can’t locate them.”
“We haven’t surveyed the entire area yet, so it’s not definitive.”
Where did the orcs come from? And where are they now? Or perhaps, have they disappeared somewhere? Without knowing the whereabouts and the circumstances of their appearance, the safety of the fairies can’t be ensured.
“There’s been significant progress in understanding the fairy language and magic. But there are many unknowns about the monsters. It’s a delicate situation if we continue like this.”
“Should we report to the king?”
“Yes. There’s no obligation to report on fairies and magic, but when it comes to monsters, it’s a matter concerning the country. I initially thought that searching for monsters should be done by those of us with magic abilities and knowledge of magic, but if we can’t find them even after a month…”
“Hmm, that’s true… but reporting to Ralf doesn’t sound very appealing.”
King Ralfgang and Count Goltba seem to be friends. They probably know each other well.
“Could it be that he’s somewhat intimidating?”
“Intimidating might be one way to put it. Well, it’s scary, but it’s hard to express it in a single word… it’s a bit, um, complicated.”
The count, unusually, seems to struggle to articulate his thoughts. In the latter half, he continues to mumble indistinctly. While mumbling, his long beard sways and moves.
“Shion-sama!”
When I turn around at the sound of the voice, it’s Dominic rushing over. His demeanor is different from usual, and I feel a sense of unease.
“Is, is something wrong?”
“Y-yes. Actually… King Ralfgang has requested the presence of Shion-sensei and Count Goltba at the castle!”
“…Eh? Who did?”
“Shion-sensei and Count Goltba! Apparently, some members of the Royal Guard have accidentally leaked information. They became concerned about the recent movements of the Count and were questioned.”
“I see… Uh, those knights, they aren’t being punished, right…?”
“It’s okay. I was the one who imposed the silence, so the responsibility lies with me. There shouldn’t be any issues.”
“That’s also a problem! Ah, it’s turning out like this… Hmm, well, that makes sense, I guess. Anyway, we have no choice but to go to the castle. Since I was the trigger for this, if something happens, it’s my responsibility. Dominic doesn’t need to take responsibility!”
“That won’t do. I gave orders to the knights, and I agreed with their actions. So, the responsibility lies with me.”
“No, it’s my fault. After all, Dominic is under my protection. Since I did the persuading, it’s only natural that I take responsibility. No matter what happens, rest assured, I’ll bear it all!”
“No, it’s me!”
“No, it’s me!”
“No, it’s me!”
As we continue this back-and-forth argument, a commanding voice intervenes.
“Then why don’t we all take responsibility together? In reality, everyone agreed, supported, and collaborated silently. I’m an accomplice too.”
“Y-yes! I-I’m the same! If we all take responsibility together, it should be fine, right?”
Upon hearing Winona and my words, all of us exchanged glances.
“W-why don’t we go with that?”
“Yes, y-yes. I’m fine with that.”
“W-well then, let’s go with that decision.”
Surely, they won’t execute us… probably. If something happens, let’s make a run for it with all our might. Take everyone along. In the subtly agreed-upon atmosphere, I promptly started moving.
“Come on, let’s go. We mustn’t keep the king waiting.”
I proceeded with light steps. Even for my own sister, I couldn’t help but think she’s quite composed.

S-s-s-shut up. I hate stuterring in novels. The one who leaked should be castrated and hanged to death. smh
I normally just read it as a waver in the voice rather than a full stutter, especially when it’s on every other word like this. It’s not like you’re required to read a voice as written, especially when it’s translated.
