Living Normally In An Abnormal World - Chapter 24: During the Interaction Event
Chapter 24: During the Interaction Event
The moment the interaction event began, I was kidnapped. I understand what I’m saying, and the situation is that I’ve simply been moved to another location, so I think there’s no problem.
Yuuna and Mana, who witnessed the kidnapping, must be worried about me.
“We apologize for suddenly handling you so roughly,” said one of the young ladies, bowing her head. The others followed suit. At a glance, there were probably around 25 to 30 of them.
“No, it seems I wasn’t kidnapped and locked up somewhere, so I’m fine. The main focus of this interaction event is you young ladies, not me.”
“We appreciate your generosity.”
The young ladies bowed again.
“Actually… I’ve always wanted to meet and talk with you, Yuuto-sama!”
“Oh, is that so? Well then,” she said, taking my right hand in both of hers and swinging it up and down vigorously.
“Your dress today is so beautiful and suits you perfectly.”
“Thank you.”
“It’s unfair!! I want to hold Yuuto-sama’s hand too!!”
“I won’t allow any of you to get ahead of the others!”
“That’s not true! You said we should all share Yuuto-sama!”
Whoa… I should probably stop them now. What do they mean by “share”? That sounds kind of scary.
“Now, now, calm down. What should we do first, anyway?”
Even though it was an interaction event, I hadn’t been told what we would be doing. I assumed I would be reading picture books to the kindergarten and nursery school children, though.
“Eh… What should we do?”
“Eh?”
“Eh?” they all chorused.
So, you haven’t decided?
“Shhh… Let’s gather together!”
The girl at the back of the group spoke up and started to move away from me. The others followed suit, forming a small circle away from me to discuss what to do.
A meeting during the event? I guess I’ll just wait for now.
“I think a proper hug would be a good way to interact, don’t you?”
“No, I don’t think Yuuto-sama would approve of that.”
“How about holding hands?”
“He was holding hands with someone earlier, so that should be fine.”
“Having our heads patted counts as interaction, right?!”
“I want him to hold me from behind like this… and give me a tight hug.”
“Being carried like a princess would be nice too.”
“What about a kiss on the back of the hand?”
“Or what if we kissed him instead?”
“I’d like to experience being in his lap and having him pillow my head.”
Wow, they’re really discussing this thoroughly. Aside from holding hands and the princess carry, I’m fine with everything else.
Kissing the back of someone’s hand feels too much like something out of a fairy tale. I’d definitely feel weird doing it, so I’m not going to.
“There he is!! It’s Yuuto-sama!!”
“We finally found you!!”
“I’ve been wanting to meet you for so long!!”
…Apparently, I’ve been found out.
But this doesn’t seem like a good time to be thinking about that.
These girls are my fans too… I haven’t thought deeply about it, but I think I’m worse than the men in this world.
I act friendly and treat everyone kindly, even though I have no intention of getting into a relationship. I feel like I’m acting like a host.
Is it really okay for me to continue living my life this way, charming girls and leading them on?
To be honest, I’m not sure. From my perspective, all these girls are beautiful and cute. Even the girls I know from school are truly adorable.
While I do feel happy being surrounded by them, more than anything, I always end up thinking that it would have been better if we had never met.
As for me… I should stop thinking about this. I shouldn’t be thinking about this on my own. I should just continue as I have been, accepting those who come and not chasing after those who leave.
By the way, why did I want to go to school in the first place? Was it just to kill time?
…I forgot.
But forgetting means it’s not important. I shouldn’t think too deeply about it.
“Yuuto-sama? Is something the matter?”
“No, it’s nothing. Nice to meet you, I’m Kinoshita Yuuto.”
“Yes, I know very well!”
Of course, you would have to know me to come here.
“Then, let’s go over here.”
Eh… Are we moving again? But the young ladies from earlier are still in their meeting.
“What are you doing?! We’re supposed to be interacting with Yuuto-sama right now!”
“How dare you! Yuuto-sama has been waiting for us, so it’s our turn now, Class B!”
“Don’t be ridiculous!”
Well… This is a tough situation.
“I understand your concerns. However, since the interaction event was originally planned for a week, they’re probably just anxious due to the limited time.”
It’s my fault, isn’t it?
“I’m sorry.”
“If you feel that way, please spend time with them. I’d love to chat with you too, Yuuto-sama, but… I’d rather not lose my job.”
“Eh?”
As I turned around, the young ladies, with their arms crossed, glared at the maid and said,
“We’re truly sorry.”
“I know…”
I shouldn’t cause any more trouble. I quickly returned to the young ladies.
“Who was that maid with you earlier?”
“She’s with me.”
“You understand, don’t you?”
“Yes.”
This feels dangerous.
“Let’s stop that, shall we? Now, let’s continue the interaction event.”
I gave them a smile, hoping to calm them down.
“Yes.”
“Phew…”
Thankfully, the maid’s job seems to be safe for now.
“Then, Yuuto-sama, please shake hands with me!”
“Okay.”
We shook hands.
“Wow…”
“Can you pat my head, please?”
“Sure.”
I patted her head gently.
“Ah…”
“Can you… carry me like a princess, please?”
“Like this?”
I picked her up in a princess carry.
“Yes…”
“Can I have your autograph?”
“Of course.”
I wrote my autograph and handed it to her. She hugged the autograph tightly and said,
“I’ll make this a family heirloom!”
I think that’s a bit too much.
One thing after another, the interaction event proceeded smoothly. Then,
‘It’s 10:30. Yuuto-sama, please move to the next location.’
Next, I think I’m supposed to read books to the nursery and kindergarten children, right?
“Well then, everyone, I have to move to the next location. I’ll see you all later.”
“We want to talk more!”
“That’s not enough!”
“But, everyone…”
Suddenly, I was swept off my feet and carried away, just like before.
Eh, a similar pattern again? Well, I don’t mind.
“See you all later~”
“No, don’t gooooo!!!” they chorused.
Ignoring their pleas, my carrier continued to move. By the way, who’s carrying me?
“Fufufu… I’ve been looking for you, Yuuto.”
That voice!
“Erina-san!”
“I heard you were taken away, and I was worried, but it seems you’re doing fine. Now, let’s head to the next venue, shall we?”
“Okay. Can you put me down, please?”
“Nope ♪”
“Oh dear…”
I felt bad for causing her worry, so I decided not to argue.
“I won’t let you escape!”
“Wait! Leave Yuuto-sama alone!”
“I haven’t had enough interaction with him yet!”
The young ladies ran after us.
…They’re persistent.
“Erina-san… Can you please put me down?”
Even if she kept carrying me, they would eventually catch up. Well, even if she put me down, I, in my wedding dress, wouldn’t be able to escape anyway.
“Fufufu… Yuuto, hold on tight. I’m going to speed up.”
Eh? Should I wrap my arms around her neck? Wait, is that wrong? Erina-san’s face is turning red…
“Are you okay?”
“I’m fine. My face tends to turn red when I run.”
“I see.”
“Let’s go.”
“Okay.”
“!”
Oops… I ended up speaking casually. But she did tell me to speak casually, right? Well, whatever!
“Then I’ll leave it to you, okay? …Erina.”
“Yes, of course. Please take care of me, Yuuto.”
“Sure.”
And so, we headed to the next venue.
