Chapter 17.1: Omake: Girls’ Talk
The setting is now at the Tachibana house. Present there are Kimura Rina, Samejima Asuka, Tachibana Maria, Kinoshita Yuuna, and Kinoshita Mana, a group of five.
These five girls became acquainted and friends without Kinoshita Yuuto knowing. This is because they all share a common interest in Yuuto and want to share him among themselves.
The topic of their conversation is, of course, Yuuto.
According to Mana and Yuuna,
“Yuu-kun~ni-cha doesn’t like to talk about himself much.”
So, they exchange information about him based on their observations of his daily life.
In reality, he doesn’t talk about himself because no one asks him about it.
“Hey, by the way, where’s Erina?”
“My mother had a last-minute work commitment, so she had to prioritize that.”
“Oh, that’s too bad.”
“Yes, it really is.”
Although Tachibana Erina is also part of this group, she rarely participates due to her busy schedule.
She was supposed to join them this time, but another last-minute commitment came up, and she had to cancel. Maria often reports the content of their discussions to her.
“Now, let’s continue talking about Yuuto-sama.”
“I’ll go first and talk about nii-cha.”
“Wait a moment, Yuuna-chan.”
Asuka stops Yuuna, who is about to speak eagerly.
“What is it?”
Yuuna, who is already itching to talk, asks Asuka.
“I’ve been thinking this every time… but it’s too enviable!”
Asuka blurts out her true feelings.
“Eh~”
Yuuna is taken aback by Asuka’s sudden unreasonable statement.
“Well, you get to be woken up by Kinoshita-kun every morning, eat breakfast together, have him make your lunch, get hugged by him, and even take baths together! That’s so unfair!”
“Him spoiling me is the privilege of being the younger sister.”
“I’m so jealous!”
“Asuka-chan!? You’re breaking character!”
“Rina-chan! I’ve always been like this! I want to call him ‘Yuuto-kun’ like everyone else…”
“Asuka-chan, please calm down…”
“Now, now, Asuka-chan, just calm down a bit.”
“Shut up! Mana-san, you’re an accomplice too!”
“Hehehe…”
“Mom, that’s not something to be embarrassed about.”
“Yes, it is.”
“By the way, nii-cha’s way of washing my body feels so good!”
“Let’s go outside right now!”
“I’m just joking!”
“Now, now, everyone, calm down.”
“Uuu~!”
Although the atmosphere is a bit rough, this kind of scene is a common occurrence for them.
Meanwhile, Yuuto is…
“Hmm… what should I make for dinner today?”
He ponders the menu for the day while looking at the supermarket flyer.
“Oh? Salmon and squid are on sale. I think I’ll make sashimi today. And some miso soup with clams would be nice, too.”
And as usual, he puts on his female disguise and heads to the nearby supermarket.
___________
“Now that I think about it… I’ve been wondering. What does Yuuto-sama do with the love letters he receives?”
Maria recalls how she often saw him in the morning, reading love letters he received.
By the way, among the girls, there’s an unspoken rule that you must never talk to him when he’s reading those letters.
“He makes a shelf and arrange them in alphabetical order.”
“Kinoshita-kun is so meticulous.”
“Before the summer vacation, I saw him writing replies as he said he had received over 500 letters.”
“Ugh, so he received that many love letters in just one term?”
“Well, they’re not all love letters.”
“What do you mean?”
“About 80% of the letters he receive these days are… for pen pals.”
“Eh?”
“According to Yuu-kun, he often gets letters saying, ‘I want to talk to you, but I’m too shy, so can we be pen pals instead?’ So, he decided to accept their requests and become pen pals with them.”
“So, you’re saying that he’s become pen pals with all the girls who sent him letters?”
“Yes.”
“Maria-chan, the fact that Yuuto-kun doesn’t intend to date anyone spread throughout the school by May. So, I think all the letters he’s received since then are probably for pen pals.”
“Nii-cha is doing something so considerate.”
“I’ve seen him writing replies a few times at night, but it feels like watching a writer struggling to meet a deadline. It’s like he’s doing it out of obligation.”
“””””
No one could say anything, and they all thought to themselves:
(((((What if his kindness causes him to break down physically?)))))
“Didn’t you stop him?”
Asuka asks, but Maria replies,
“I did, but he said, ‘I can’t treat people’s kindness carelessly. Even though I rejected them, they still wrote saying they wanted to be pen pals. So, …I want to accept their small wish. Besides, it’s my selfishness that made me reject them in the first place, so it’s only fair.'”
“Yuuto-kun is too kind.”
“Yes… he really is.”
“That expression of his was so cool that I couldn’t stop him…”
“””””
“Hey!”
“What!? That expression of his was like that of a man who has lived for several decades!”
“Ehh~”
The girls wonder what she means by that.
However, they try to imagine it.
Yuuto is currently a boy with a mix of innocence and coolness. His body is well-toned from regular training, and his face is flawless, without a single pimple, making him a beauty that anyone would admire.
When they imagine him as a young man…
……
Their faces naturally heat up.
“I’m the rightful wife!”
Suddenly, Yuuna declares.
“Huh!? Yuuna-chan, you said we wouldn’t talk about that yet!”
“It’s true! It’s too early to talk about marriage and stuff…”
“Maria-chan, you’re just as bad.”
“Asuka-chan, that’s like a boomerang statement.”
“Anyway… it’s up to Yuuto-kun to decide.”
In the end, they realize that even if they discuss who the rightful wife is, it’s up to him to choose. Moreover, since they don’t know whom he will pick, they wonder if it’s even appropriate to have this conversation.
They wish they could all be happy together with him.
Time passes…
“Are you still not done?”
Tachibana Erina returns, slightly sweaty, indicating that she rushed back.
“Mother, what happened?”
“Well, I happened to meet Yuuto-san on my way back.”
“””””
“Fufu… My chance has finally come! Although I’ve been feeling lonely since that party and not being able to see him, I feel a little better now.”
“Where did you meet him?”
When Mana asks, Elina replies,
“I dropped by the supermarket on my way home, and coincidentally, Yuuto-san was there shopping. So, I invited him to chat if he had some time, and we ended up going to a game center together.”
“Eh? Why did Erina-sama go to a game center?”
“Mana-san, can you call me Erina already?”
“Can you wait a little longer?”
“Yes, of course. We went to the game center because Yuuto-san said he wanted to go there. It was my first time there, too, but we ended up going together.”
“What did you do there?”
“We took Purikura together. Look, isn’t it cute?”
She shows them a Purikura photo of herself and Yuto in a two-shot, with their names decorated cutely. If that was all, they would only feel envious, but…
Why is there a photo of Erina kissing Yuto’s cheek?
And why is there another photo of Yuto kissing Elina’s cheek?
…
“Yuuto-san is quite bold, isn’t he?”
Erina says, blushing.
What happens to her after this is left to your imagination.
