“Eh? Eh? Ehh?”

Shara’s gaze darted back and forth between Erika and me.

“I’m the frontline, right?”

“Yes, that’s right. I’ll provide mid-range support and skirmish, and Shara can use attack magic from the rear. Let’s try that formation for now.”

“If we’re just testing the waters, that sounds good. What if we can take it down directly?”

“I’m not very familiar with fighting monsters, so Shin, what would you do?”

“Wounding it halfway and then retreating to try again later would be foolish. We either take it down or retreat completely.”

“Then I’ll leave that decision to you as the frontliner.”

“Got it. Now, let’s check our firepower.”

When I looked at Shara, she seemed completely dazed.

“Shara, snap out of it. We need to assess your firepower.”

“Huh? My firepower?”

“Yes, how strong is your maximum attack?”

“Regular spells aren’t very powerful, but if I use incantation magic, I can generate a lot of power.”

I see, she’s capable of using incantation magic. 

Not many people can use it because it requires chanting spells.

It’s simply difficult to use. 

It involves mastering a special way of speaking and memorizing incantation-like spell formations.

Even though it’s not easy to learn, the spells take a long time to cast, making it unpopular among adventurers. 

However, its power is undeniably immense.

In the Kingdom of Faltar, it’s used as a siege weapon. It’s more of a magic used by the knight order or the kingdom’s army rather than by adventurers.

“Then it should work well against the Forest Dragon. Let’s start with a light attack and see how it goes.”

Erika and I did a final check of our equipment.

It was mainly small details like ensuring my sword belt wasn’t loose.

“Shara, how long will your spell take?”

“For my strongest spell that could affect the Forest Dragon, the fastest I can cast it is in three minutes. Three minutes against a dragon? No way, let’s go back, okay?”

Even the weakest known incantation magic can penetrate a dragon’s scales.

I’m not sure how skilled Shara is with her incantation magic, but if her minimum spell takes three minutes, that’s quite fast. 

I had braced myself for five to ten minutes.

“A three-minute wait is fine. Erika?”

“I just need to stand between you and Shara and block the dragon’s attacks for three minutes, right?”

Erika smiled. 

“Piece of cake.”

Shara, on the verge of tears, glared at us in desperation. She’s quite expressive with her emotions.

“Where does your confidence come from…?”

At her words, I glanced at Erika. 

Her golden magical aura was dazzling.

“Because Erika is behind me.”

“Because Shin is standing in front of me.”

Our voices overlapped unexpectedly, making me feel a bit embarrassed.

“In this situation, hearing you flirt just makes me more scared!”

Shara exclaimed.

“Yes, Shara. With your body enhancement, you would fall behind.”

Shara grumbled in a dissatisfied and worried tone. 

Erika was carrying her under her arm.

Yes, Shara was being carried like luggage by Erika.

Honestly, I felt a bit envious of the close contact, but Shara seemed extremely unhappy and looked like she was about to complain at any moment. 

Her worried tone of voice showed how she truly felt.

Why did it come to this? Simply put, Shara’s body enhancement wasn’t strong enough to keep up with us, so her attack would be delayed. 

We considered letting Shara go ahead on her own, but she protested strongly, so Erika had to carry her to her position.

“Alright, let’s go.”

I kicked off the ground as a signal.

“So fast! Too fast!”

“Careful not to bite your tongue.”

I could hear their voices behind me, but they were already about ten steps away.

I had slowed down to match their speed, but the strength of Erika’s body enhancement, carrying someone and all, was impressive.

When I got within about a hundred feet of the Forest Dragon, I drew my sword and increased the strength of my body enhancement. 

As expected of a designated target, a monster referred to as the “Lord.”

Even though it clearly noticed me approaching, it continued to lounge around calmly. It was quite confident.

I charged in with all my might.
