Let me be a mob! - Chapter 89- Proposal?
[Next Day]
“Today would be the second and last day of the expedition. Since you all have faced many challenges until now, today it would be only an eight-hour raid. To not let you get comfortable with your teammates we have swapped all the team members. After all, you don’t know what kind of people you will be fighting with in the future. ”
Late at night on the third day, Lisa announced the course of the expedition which unlike yesterday would be more difficult, given that it would be dark inside the dungeon.
Also, all the team members have been switched and unlike yesterday, Fiona wasn’t allowed to change the team as she wanted. Yesterday, the Professor didn’t object since they got to know who was more proficient with whom so they could separate them today and make specific student reports.
The bitterness Fiona wore over her face was making it difficult for the people around her to remain calm. Her reputation as the ice princess who could burn people with her lightning didn’t help either and created an awkward situation in the group.
Jin couldn’t help but shake his head seeing her expression with a smile arching his lips. He did try pursuing her but when it comes to being with him, Fiona just wants it to happen. Seeing her childish side always made him chuckle and made his heart warm.
“Someone is jealous of me… ” Jin raised his brows hearing the familiar voice from beside him before his eyes rested on the silvery blond-haired princess standing beside him.
Dia was almost as tall as Jin, reaching 5’9 just two inches shorter than him. Despite having a lean physique, she had enough meat in place which makes it difficult for people to keep their eyes off her. Not to talk about her beautiful facial features with a high nose that gave her a dignified look even though right now she wore adventurer’s clothes just like everyone.
“What?” Maybe it was because Jin was staring at her pretty hard, she asked with her brows raised without a hint of displeasure by being stared upon.
“Umm…nothing. Were you alright this morning…I mean, Fiona said you were having some kind of amnesia.” To save Jin from trouble, Dia said she didn’t remember what happened last night to Fiona or about where she went after dinner.
Seeing Jin being worried for her, Dia’s lips arched as she asked in a flirty tone, “Are you now worried about a woman who isn’t your girlfriend?”
Dia thought Jin would get the slightest bit of fluster but in return, he just replied in a matter-of-fact tone, “I mean…don’t friend gets worried for each other. Ah well, if only Your Highness considers me as a friend that is.”
Dia blinked in surprise as for a moment she became totally silent. But soon she stabilized her mind and replied in a non-hesitant tone, “Yes, of course. We surely are friends, Jin.”
Just friends…Dia held herself from adding such a phrase which surely could have made Jin doubtful of her. Despite knowing the fact that her best friend was in a relationship with him, Dia’s heart feel trouble being regarded just as a friend by him.
Jin could sense that something was off about the girl since she was zoning out a lot today. He also sensed her taking glances at him quite many times since the time they gathered as well.
‘Did she hear something last night…?’ It was quite plausible, given that Jin never used any spell or potion on her to make her forget about last night completely.
He wasn’t distressed about being found out by her since he would stick some lies here and there to make the last night’s incident believable. But for some reason, he felt that there was something more than just pure curiosity. Dia seemed…torn.
“So we meet again.”
Both Dia and Jin turned their head to see the short violet-haired council member, Maegen Zachbell standing there. Along with her, there was a guy whom neither of the first year knew, stood with a shy smile.
“Miss Maegen, please be a little easy on our juniors.” The thin senior with curly brownish-black hair spoke as he tried to calm the slightly agitated Maegen down.
“You don’t know, Jeromy, for some reason being around this guy feels trouble would befall any moment now.” Taking aside the incident that occurred with Vice President Phil on the way to the Dungeon City, there was Professor Annie as well who had her eyes on Jin which signified that the guy was full of mysteries. And such kinds of people always bring troubles alongside from Maegen’s perspective.
“It’s nice to see you too, senior,” Jin replied calmly whereas Dia had a frown of displeasure over her beautiful brows.
‘How rude…’ Dia didn’t bother introducing herself and made her way toward another group since there was still some time left before the expedition starts.
Maegen soon realized what she had just done. Her words have somehow offended no one but the princess of the empire which made the pixie head gulp in slight fret as her eyes trailed the back of distancing Dia.
“I told you to keep your tone in check, Miss Maegen. Anyway, I am Jeromy Caraline. A C-rank healer class mage and your traveling partner for today.”
Jin shook his hand with the well-mannered guy as he also introduced himself, “Jin Carter, D-rank. My primary skill is Levitation.”
“I have heard a lot about you Jin…I mean mostly everyone came to know about you after your spar with the President. You are always in rumors.”
Jin raised his brows but didn’t reply to it and in the first place, he never called for the spotlight.
“Hey, Jin…why does Princess seem agitated by me?” No longer able to control herself Maegen asked the person who was closest to Dia among the three.
Jin glanced at the said princess who currently was chatting with Fiona and the others before he replied vaguely, “Maybe she didn’t like what you said about me…” Despite the fact, that he said that, Jin wasn’t sure why would Dia get angered if someone badmouthed Jin.
As he thought there was something Dia was hiding.

[Inside the dungeon]
After some time every group walked into the dungeon one after another.
Naturally, Dia was with Jin and the other two but she hasn’t said anything after returning to them.
To not piss her off anymore, Maegen has distanced herself a little from Dia and dragged Jeromy along with her.
Behind the two seniors, Dia and Jin walked slowly while enjoying the peaceful surroundings until they could. Despite walking normally, neither of them had lowered their guard from the very point they walked into the dungeon.
Jin was about to say something to break the ice when suddenly Dia said something that made his mind black and his feet pause.
“Hey, Jin….would you like to be my fiancé?”
