Let me be a mob! - Chapter 78- Recognition?
Duke Steve Lukehart was no ordinary man as his daughter sees him to be.
It was a fact that he is protective of his family and a prideful man to the boot.
In the canon, when he heard about Fiona’s relationship with Aiden after a considerable time in the plot, he still was against it. I must mention, at that time Aiden was already an A-rank with various remarkable feats in his records.
Steve Lukehart not only openly opposed the relationship, but he used the four mantras to manipulate his precious daughter from that commoner Aiden whose future seemed in ruins from the Duke’s angle.
Duke Lukehart isn’t an extreme racist who discriminates against people based on their background but it doesn’t mean he could accept just anyone as his daughter’s lover.
At the beginning of the fifth volume, the first act starts with the events involving mainly Fiona. We are still nearing the end of the second volume…well, not really this world is moving according to the plot because of this event of Pharoh which came out of nowhere.
There would be many implications during Fiona’s events since her father already had decided on a husband for her who would remain in the Lukehart Dukedom so Steve could take care of his daughter even after marriage. Another struggle arises from my background whixh is unclear to me as well.
And most importantly, the curse of the Witch.
Many things could prove to be lethal to our relationship, that’s why Fiona seemed tensed in my arms and despite being ashamed to the point of her cheeks turned crimson in embarrassment, she requested to have sex with me.
There was no doubt that I was enticed by the offer since Fiona is way above my league to date. She’s charming and has captivated me for a long time so refusing her offer would take a lot from me.
However, I know it’s too soon and having our first experience just because Fiona was under her family’s pressure…
“Let’s wait for some time, Fiona. I don’t know much about you and I guess the same goes for you. We still haven’t gone on an official date yet and also most importantly, I have yet to confess right?”
Hearing my words Fiona didn’t seem surprised like she expected something like this from me. Wait, why do I feel like a failure as a man right now?
However, whether it was to console me or she genuinely felt elated, a smile bloomed across her lips as she spoke to me huskily, “You really do treasure me and our relationship huh…”
Her hand made its way toward mine as she intertwined our fingers and warmly snuggled even closer.
“Ah, yes, of course. In my opinion, if we are in a relationship and trust each other then we should accept each other’s shortcomings as well. So whenever you want to talk about your family and circumstances, feel free.”
I absolutely meant what I said. Take my ex-girlfriend for example.
She basically blocked every single contact on my phone, made me uninstall my social media, and told me to leave the entertainment industry since she didn’t like me to be seen by others. Her way of loving me was different but I was so madly in love with her that I accepted everything.
Of course, I asked her to remain by my side as compensation as well and provide me with a lap pillow three times a day so it’s not like it was one-way demand. We were happy until that night I made a mistake chatting with a girl for a longer period than I should have…and now here I am.
She was a significant part of my life and I still smile remembering those memories.
‘Damn…what a scum I am to think of my ex when I have Fiona in my arms… ‘
“What happened?” Fiona cutely raised her head and blinked with those big eyes of hers. The display was enough fan service for me to smile broadly before I shook my head and while embracing her, dove into the lands of dreams.

“What has been happening, recently? First that attack on the academy and trapping those first years inside a barrier and now this!”
Lisa nearly shouted those words in agony, undecided whether she was targeting the other teachers or blaming herself for being so weak to not being able to protect her students.
Lisa is one of the S-ranked professors and an ex-huntress as well so failing at the task like these was making her annoyed beyond belief.
“We understand that you are frustrated, Professor Lisa, and trust me, we all share that feeling. After all, who would like to see their children facing such a level of threat where they could lose their life any second? However, we have to understand that it sometimes becomes inevitable for us to do anything.”
The red-haired third-year professor—Brian tried reasoning with Lisa.
After listening to the story which Jin and Aiden told the staff unit grew baffled and anxious since the situation those two teenagers described not only left everyone unguarded for an indefinite period but also the entity involved in this act was a demon.
It was still unclear what rank of demon could pull off such a feat but Lisa has a feeling that no one but a Lord rank demon was involved in this.
After all, mental interference in those many minds even though the demon wasn’t here in the flesh…indeed it sounds like a sovereign has taken an interest in the academy for some reason.
‘But how… ‘ Lisa felt the urge to see that white beard old man as soon as she could.
The brief silence in the room was suddenly broken by a childish voice emerging just from the left of the violet-haired professor.
“Is something bothering my cutie pie?”
Lisa reflexively jabbed her elbow toward the source of the voice only to be blocked before it could reach its destination.
Turning her gaze, Lisa could not help but gape at the sight of the intruder.
“Professor Annie….?”

[Aiden’s POV:]
‘We were saved by Jin once again… ‘I couldn’t help but sigh upon realizing how despite my doubts and suspicions about Jin, in the end, he was only thinking for our sake.
Though I am still unclear about his sources of information and how come it seems he knows what is to come, I have found something better to get concerned about for the time being.
“I need to get stronger as soon as I can…”
I was overwhelmed by the fighting style and adaptability Jin portrayed on the battlefield. Not only with just his magic but he was superior to me in handling his weapons and maximizing the output of each of his strikes.
On one side I was just using my brute strength to pulverize the monsters, and failing in doing so time after time as well, however, Jin wasn’t like that. He’s the kind of person who could use his opponent’s strength to defeat them, effortlessly.
It was no shame in admitting that Jin can beat the crap out of me even while being half asleep.
Not to talk about his growing familiarity with spirits. I just can’t begin to think what kind of singularity he would become in some years.
But it only makes me more motivated to become better. I always feel more pumped up when there is a tall hill to climb and with Jin around me, I would also get reminded how far I have to reach so that someday I can also make him and others rely on me.
‘Wait for me Jin…soon, I will make you answer all my questions… ‘

A/N: – Writing Aiden feels like I am writing a shounen protag. Well, technically he is a shounen protagonist so no helping there.
