Let me be a mob! - Chapter 73- Different ideology
[Aiden’s POV:]
I have contradictory thoughts about Jin.
It was an undeniable fact that he is suspicious and knows things that he’s not supposed to be aware of.
Even though he tried to play his act, the very instance everyone got frozen in the motel, my gaze fell on Jin, and I realized that rather than being flabbergasted like how I was, he was more shocked. It closely seemed like he did not expect what had been happening, to take place right now.
And also, how he was so calm about the situation despite he tried to pretend otherwise.
I accept that he’s tensed about the people he cares for but the fact that he’s aware of what is to come makes me wonder, what kind of background he has or whether Jin is a human or not.
I know he has saved me more than once in the past but I couldn’t help but think that Jin might have his own selfishness in those incidents.
I have observed Jin more than anyone else and know that he’s a very calculative and cunning kind of guy. I am not saying that he would kill others for his benefit or leave them behind in general, but if it comes to a hundred lives against someone he loves, Jin is someone who would save his beloved.
I am not against his ideology but I cannot simply follow his mindset. For some reason, only Jin and I were free from this restraint of whatever spell has befallen the town, which means, that these many citizens do not have the strength to protect themselves, rendering them vulnerable to even an E-rank goblin.
Jin has set his goal of saving our classmates, and I was thankful to him for that but I can not leave the others just like that as well. I would do everything in my power to ensure their safety since if I have gained a blessing unique to only me then there must be a meaning behind it.
‘I hope…we succeed in our respective objectives, Jin… ‘

[Jin’s POV:]
I was sure that Aiden, by now, would have been suspecting me and my ways of doing things but that doesn’t matters for now. I just have to watch out for Pharoh.
I have already shifted every student from the second block to the primary one where the teachers were, before I went toward the clock tower, which was the tallest building in the town.
“Fuck…” My eyes remained solemn, as I voiced the curse which instinctively came out upon witnessing the approaching danger.
The domain under which Pharoh released his spell, Illusion, was approximately twenty kilometers in diameter with the whole city engulfed in it and so were the beasts in the nearby forests.
Unlike humans, who consist of their own will and capability to distinguish reality from a dream, beasts do not possess such luxury, resulting in their brains getting washed up and the only reasoning was left in them is to slaughter.
There were no high-ranking beasts around the city since the military had already cleared up those for civilian safety, but still, there were up to B-rank creatures currently making their way from the suburbs in quantities exceeding a whole thousand. There were no ariel beasts, again for public safety and I was grateful for that.
‘What about the other side… ‘ Since the north and south sides were passageways for visitors, only two directions were left to look out for.
I was currently facing East but the West was…
“Wait…is that Aiden…?”I couldn’t help but raise my brows upon witnessing the figure of the Protagonist who currently was cladded in Lightning.
In the past, while experimenting with his attributes, Aiden was met by an accident and his best friend lost his life because of that. That is why, Aiden mostly relies on his Emission attribute since it doesn’t influence his surrounding.
But since right now we were close to midnight, inevitably, he could not use his favorite skill.
‘So my fear was only for a naught… ‘ I was relieved to see that Aiden did not bind himself with the past and chose to use his other attribute as well.
Though sadly there was no audience to witness the sight of such a massive development.
‘Though I don’t think he would be able to handle those many… ‘ I frowned since there were several B-rank beasts in the horde as well. Surely they wouldn’t be able to fight to their fullest due to being currently used as puppets but it doesn’t alter the fact that Aiden was still only a D ranked.
He would die if I don’t hurry up cleaning my side.
“Let’s get there first…” I levitated my way toward the East gate of the city with my eyes trained on the incoming stampede.
Forest wolves, Elemental Ape, Inferno Fox, Eight horned Taurus, and many more varying in ranks were advancing at a furious rate with their eyes dyed in crimson, signifying how they are not in their right mind to attack the city.
‘I have got only one chance… ‘ Their target was the city so only limited beasts would engage in battle with me and others would pass across, which was not acceptable since the people inside the perimeter were not in their right mind to defend themselves.
“Okay, let’s try it out…”
I closed my eyes and slowly disconnected myself from reality. The reason why I am taking this risk is that the Spirit I was about to call forth was no regular one.
[XX-XXXXXXXX-XXX]
I parted my eyes and raised my left hand toward my front. The spell was already being chanted in my mind, I just needed to call Undine to back me up.
Though I was nervous there was nothing to lose here.
“Ullr.”
*Ba* *Dumb*
A sensation akin to a mini heart attack spread across my chest as soon I spelled out that word which in actuality was S-rank magic.
A rush of cold waves spread from my outstretched palm which soon extended horizontally up to a kilometer and approached the incoming beasts at a terrifying pace.
**SHEEEEEUNG**
The spell required almost ten seconds to chant and the results were in front of my eyes to witness within two and a half seconds.
All those beasts, regardless of their levels were now encased in thick ice, crystalline-like statues which would not melt until I don’t release the spell or simply…
“Burst…”
…destroy them.
As soon I snapped my fingers, all the ice statues turned into crystalline particles before they were swept away by the wind.
I breathed a sigh of relief while trying to calm my aching heart. Even though I have made a contract with Undine who was currently looking at me worriedly with those bright starry blue eyes of hers, it doesn’t mean that I am ready to wield her powers just now.
There were many more spells I have yet to try, and shockingly [Ullr] isn’t the strongest in the arsenal. Actually, there are three more spells with greater effect than this one.
And also, I wasn’t able to utilize [Ullr] to the fullest or I would have frozen almost ten kilometers wide and maybe the whole forest which means I have vast room for growth.
But above all…
“Let’s save the Protagonist…”
