Let me be a mob! - Chapter 60- Trip?
[Amanda’s POV:]
“What just happened….?”
It was given that Jin would be flabbergasted by the technique I used to erase my mana presence entirely even though from the looks of it, Jin seemed rather confident in his observative skills.
The only one who has defeated me when makes such a helpless face draws a sigh out of me but I held it to amuse over it for a later time since right now I need to quell my student’s curiosity.
“Just as, I said, blocking a Mana Mark cannot only be used on your opponent but could be utilized on one’s body as well. To make myself clear, I just blocked a mana point when you were observing me which triggered a phenomenon that makes the mana of the said person, blend with the natural mana, rendering the opponent’s senses helpless.”
Given how calculative and shrewd he has seemed until now, I knew Jin deduced the essence of my words and what was the first step of Shadow Walker Sword Art.
He then contemplated my words for a minute as I patiently awaited the question he soon followed up with.
“Any drawbacks?”
“Just slight numbness at the region you block your mana point. But it could be endured and the effect gets blunt with repetitive uses. No lasting side effects until you are not using it incorrectly.”
I have seen only one person turning disabled due to continuous usage of the technique without proper training. Well, I expect Jin to be that perceptive and smart enough to understand what’s wrong or whatnot. I would be truly disappointed if he becomes a vegetable but alas, weak people are those who fall so it would matter to nothing in the end.
“What about the duration when done accurately?”
“Seven and a half seconds is the record measured by the legendary warrior of the North and as for me, then I can maintain the camouflaged state for 4.28 seconds.”
This duration is currently the best one probably in the whole world but telling him that would feel like I am boasting here. There would come a time when Jin would get disheartened by his performance then I would tell him, how high, in today’s reality, he was aiming to compete with me.
“So I just block a mana mark and I would be invisible in darkness right?”
I nodded without hesitation, though I felt that he was missing the most important question here. However, before I could have pointed it out, Jin himself worded the basic query I thought he would be asking initially.
“Then…how can I do it as well?”
********
The next day, after school hours, came to an end Lisa told everyone to hold up for a moment for a big announcement regarding tomorrow.
Jin could be seen currently distributing a certain paper that has some listed materials and requirements for whatever activity was about to take place.
It was really a sight for sore eyes to see the clearly annoyed Jin doing such chores even though Lisa could have asked him to use his skill to distribute those sheets in seconds.
“Tomorrow, we would be traveling to City Mongrove, and by that I mean, you guys would be entering your first dungeons soon.”
The round of astonished gasps and disbelief echoed around the room and except for the class representative everyone got frozen at their seat hearing the announcement.
Jin was still delivering the damn sheets.
“But Professor, how can we venture dungeons when we still have to pass even a month in the academy?”
One of the students from the back raised the obvious question since it was the second year when the students get to introduced to dungeons for more practical experience. To break the system so suddenly…
Lisa sighed inwardly as she knew a headache was approaching, “It has been recently decided that to make the students prepared for any situation, it would be required for them to have some real-life skills.”
Truth be told when Lisa first heard about the new module Headmaster has brought up, she strongly opposed the idea, backing her argument with the risk of losing potential students.
But when the old wizard patiently explained to her why this was necessary and what mandatory arrangements had been made to ensure students’ safety, Lisa found herself nodding in the end.
“What about our parents, Professor? I don’t know about others but my father would not be happy if I make such a big decision by myself.”
A girl with light brown hair raised the query and many had similar questions as well, but they were hoping that their parents would remove them from this academy which has been getting dangerous day after day.
The number of students having such a thought process was few but only in this section since the other ones where low-ranking students have been assigned…it would become a source of dread for them.
Finishing up his work, Jin walked back to his seat and was about to sit down when Lisa called out for him.
“Jin, tell me something. Your family, those who love you so dearly, would they grow restless or reprimand you if you participate in the raid?”
Jin glared at the violet-haired vixen at the crystal-clear mockery she implied just now but soon he sighed and let go of the anger since he was too tired to retain any mood for now.
Rather he answered her query in a bland tone, “Once I enter the Academy I have already accepted all the terms it offers for the students to carefully read and understand. My life could be wasted right the next second and the Academy would take no responsibility for it. All the guardians have been told the same guidelines so if they send you to Excalius that means, you’re already dead in their eyes, to put it blunt and simple. Sure parents can still drop their children out but that would be idiocy on their part since once a student drops out of this Academy, no other institution accepts them until a heavy load of wealth is not backed up with the admission. And when I say heavy then even my father who is a Baron would have to sell all his fortune to get me a seat in any local school. So yeah, even if my ‘loving’ family grows anxious they would not become an obstruction in the path of my objective.”
The class…was dead silent, both during the explanation and also at the end of it. Jin was stating everything like he was just conveying the facts but those who previously had dreams of getting themselves saved by their parents were now contemplating their next course of action.
Not all of them were super rich like Brad or Dia, nor was the disgrace of running away from danger seemed great of option either.
Aside from the students, Lisa was extremely happy with the reality check Jin just slapped on everyone’s face as with a wide grin she gestured to the responsible Class Representative to take his seat before she continued.
“Now that you all have had your answers, I want you guys to report sharp at 5 in the morning with all the things mentioned in the list. And do not dare to be late or plan on skipping this trip since the other method of bringing someone to the carriage would not be adequate to experience~”
