Let me be a mob! - Chapter 45- Class representative Jin?
“…and thus it has been decided that Jin would be the class representative for the following semester until the re-selection test doesn’t take place.”
Standing on the stage beside his homeroom teacher, Jin could only sigh inwardly while maintaining a straight face as he looked straight toward class. He already assumed that he would be delegated with the role due to all the things he has done but still, being gazed at by all his classmates was still not a good feeling in itself.
Rena was snickering at the scene as it was evident that Jin dearly wanted to escape from that spot which made the scene funny enough. Aiden was amused as well since knowing Jin’s reluctance to bring attention to himself, this seemed nice for a change.
Fiona looked….proud? Jin had no idea why she was giving off the vibe of a mother who was feeling proud of her children when they did a good job. Dia was neutral with a smile never leaving her lips.
“You sure professor, about me being placed for such a job?” Despite knowing that it was fruitless to ask, Jin whispered his words in an attempt to make the professor at least reconsider her decision for once.
But the lady in black had no intention of going back on her words, nor was doubting her judgment regarding the selection as well.
“What are you even talking about now, student Jin? More than asking me such a stupid question, isn’t it more appropriate for you to deliver some kind of speech?”
Lisa reprimanded her student since being the strongest in the class and also the person who responsibly carried everyone out of the danger zone, should be undoubtedly awarded the post of the class head. This decision didn’t even need discussion or thorough contemplation. Jin has the capability and attitude to become a responsible representative and if by chance, students don’t like his work, Jin would get a chance to delegate the role to someone else’s hands.
On the other side, Jin helplessly sighed as he computed some words he could say but in the end, he was not able to come up with appropriate words so without bothering much, Jin went along with the flow.
“I…hope you guys won’t raise trouble for me much and we can spend the following six months in peace.”
Along with those words, Jin stepped off the stage and made his way toward his desk, avoiding the varying gazes all around the classroom.
“Good work out there.”
“Thanks.”
Jin replied to Fiona’s whisper with a small smile before they both focused back on the class which was about to begin. But before Lisa could have picked up the topic of the day, someone from the back, raised their voice and asked something which has been putting up a gloomy atmosphere in the room since the start.
“Professor…can I ask, what would be the stance of the academy on this recent incident? I mean, we cannot just pretend to not notice these four empty desks, right?”
The temperature of the room inched down even more upon the mention of the four vacant desks which were occupied until two days ago. Even though no one was saying it explicitly but seeing those four empty seats were making many of the students, quite distressed. It was the same for almost everyone in the class including Jin to feel this way toward their lost classmates.
Under normal circumstances, Lisa would have scolded anyone who dared to interrupt the class, but she knew that despite the speaker being only a particular boy, the question remained mutual amongst all. And truthfully, everyone had the right to know what the school decided after this event which would not be forgotten for a long period.
Lisa sighed before turning herself back to face the students, and she massaged her brows after taking off her glasses. She was getting packed with lots of work these few days and students could also see that from her red eyes and exhausted demeanor.
“Well…the headmaster would be addressing the students in a few days but if you all are eager to know, then be assured since we have called for ‘external’ help for this time around.”
Jin frowned at the statement. He somehow knew what kind of outside help the Academy could seek out but resorting to that decision this soon…?
‘Well, we are talking about that legendary witch here… ‘ It was a known fact that the Crimson Demon of East who withstood that war which included so many high-ranking demons all by herself would surely prove the highest degree of threat for Excalius, so it was justifiable why the Academy took the help from the foreigners.
The students didn’t seem to be much convinced about it but pushing their luck to get any more answers would sorely backfire, considering the short temper Lisa possesses.
The class began, and everyone including Jin focused on what was being taught but what he failed to register was the anxious glances he was receiving from his neighbor.

It was after homeroom when students of the first year were brought to the training ground. Students here were told to practice with equipment and show their skills and if required the instructors would point out their shortcomings or provide them with ways to improve.
There were in total seven instructors of varying ranks but most of them had long battle experience and enough knowledge about their profession to assist students and help them become great warriors.
Rena was currently training inside the high-pressure chamber which was made from the artifacts which work on the reverse levitation principle. It was the best training module for those who seek extreme agility and strength in their attacks.
Dia was practicing her skill with weight anklets and doing the same exercise with which the students were tested during the evaluation assessment. The shock she received upon witnessing Jin’s result that day was working as an excellent motivator for the princess. Aiden and Brad were sparring hand-to-hand in a corner but to the blondie’s utmost annoyance, he was majorly getting pushed to even call this proper combat.
Silvie was also training with bow and arrow diligently but due to her constant mistakes, she was under close watch by one of the instructors.
Fiona was nearby, or to be precise, at the spot where she was able to look at Jin without field obstruction. Half part of her was concerned for him and half of her was just simply eager to keep looking at him. Her oceanic eyes always flashed with sparkles whenever he moved to swing his weapon or take a stance to launch another attack. His every movement, gesture, and expression was so….enthralling that Fiona found herself standing still most of the time.
His serious and passionate gaze reminds Fiona of that night when she was only able to see those eyes, and also his beautiful movements which showed the sincerity he has put behind his techniques, describe how hardworking and diligent kind of person Jin is.
‘Haaah…am I falling in love…? ‘
This was the simplest and quickest answer Fiona could land upon witnessing the changes she has been having even though only a couple of days has gone by. Her heart was restless in his presence and her mind goes wild when she couldn’t see him around. If it is not what people call love then Fiona had no opinion on the idea of romance at all.
But even so, she was not going to confess her love nor she would be making any shameless advances on Jin just now since she knows he was not interested in her at all. Though they had hugged and whispered lovingly some words, that doesn’t prove anything.
Fiona has decided to take things slowly. And since there didn’t seem anyone particularly interested in him, Fiona found no reason to panic at all…
…or what she thought.
“Jin Carter.”
A solemn feminine voice resonated heavily in the room before a group of older students led by a charming upperclassman approached the person whose name was being called just now.
Fiona’s eyes sharpened at the leading lady as she saw her approaching Jin with a cold look, and for some reason, Fiona didn’t have a good feeling about it.
The upperclassmen, under the heavy gazes from the surroundings, halted just some inches before Jin before uttering something completely out of nowhere.
“I challenge you to a duel.”
