Let me be a mob! - Chapter 43- Aren\'t you too calm?
It was some minutes ago when Diona was about to march into Jin’s room and finally have her questions get responded to. She needed to know whether he was the person she has been seeking and if he really was, then along with utmost elation she would be tremendously worried for him as well.
But before she could have walked even ten steps away from her dorm room, her best friend Dia came to block her path before the blond in a panicked look, asked the most obvious.
“You are going to meet Jin, right?”
Fiona nodded without a speck of hesitation since knowing the bond between the two, Fiona knew Dia would figure it out even though the silver-haired maiden would have lied here. If anyone can understand Fiona without being near her and tell what Fiona opts for in most situations, then it would be no one other than this royal highness.
“You are going to ask him about that night, aren’t you?”
Fiona would have walked away already if not for Dia’s hold on her wrist. Fiona wanted nothing more than to meet Jin right now and quell her curiosity and the long pent-up impatience to finally have a word with her savior.
But even in urgency, Fiona didn’t have that kind of manners nor such a shallow relationship with Dia that because of her restlessness, she would swat away her friend.
Looking at the blond beauty, Fiona sighed as her hand traveled over hers which kept Fiona in place before the silver maiden spoke in a calm tone.
“I know you are worried Dia, but for now I need to be somewhere urgently. If Jin really is the person we have been looking for then it would be better if I just confront him when I have the time. So please let go of me for now.”
Dia didn’t say anything more and after a brief pause, she nodded and sidestepped to give Fiona space.
Fiona was feeling slightly guilty for talking with her friend like this but for now, the need for her to see Jin held her utmost priority.
‘Wait for me Jin… I will not let you go away this time…. ‘
Dia sighed as she saw the distancing back of her friend before she turned to look in a corner and called the people who has been spying on her and Fiona since the beginning of the conversation.
“You know it’s kind of rude to eavesdrop, right?”
In normal circumstances, when Fiona doesn’t get this much riled up, she would have been able to sense the eavesdroppers even though they were hiding quite masterfully.
With an embarrassed expression and somewhat nervous smile spread across their faces two girls with whom Dia was familiar, walked out of the shadows. In the first place, if they wouldn’t have been familiar, Dia would not have let them overhear the conversation.
“Rena, Silvie?”
“What? You didn’t think we would just be oblivious about this criminal murderer being the strongest student we have come across, do you? I mean this was the quickest and the simplest math even I was able to land upon.”
Rena replied in a flat tone with her hand crossed under her ample chest. The hooded girl beside her just kept her head dipped down in shame and fidgetted signifying her anxiety in the matter which transpired some hours ago.
Dia stared at the rowdy girl for a full ten seconds before a sigh of resignation left her lips. Indeed as just Rena said, there were not many in the academy including all three years who could attain such a feat so having doubts about someone who has shown such wide potential was a probable bet.
Shrugging off the thought of doing it alone, Dia invited the two for what she primarily decided.
“Wanna hear what he has to say?”
Without even her saying both Rena and Silvie knew who this ‘he’ referred to before the taller one nodded and the meek one stuttered to form an answer which basically would have an affirmation albeit along with some lazy ass excuses.
****
“That’s why Silvie came to ask something random all of a sudden since she was providing you guys some time to sneak in the room, huh…”
With a blank look, Fiona summarized the whole story, why the heck was all these four idiots surprisingly sitting on the couch with their head bowed in shame and embarrassment?
Yeah, four.
Even Aiden was here.
Reason?
Well, since Silvie was stalling time for Dia and Rena to creep into Jin’s room, the elven girl would surely have left behind. Though what one could have expected from such a shy girl, Silvie actually didn’t leave and was trying to hear the conversation between Jin and Fiona with her face practically plastered on the door even though she was unable to hear much of it.
It goes without saying that, someone with a high perception as Aiden sensed a familiar aura in the boy’s dorm would walk out and ask her the reason for the sudden visit. Thus, it explains why the protagonist was also currently sheepishly scratching his cheek while trying to find the best response he could muster to get himself forgiven for this intrusion.
Jin on the other hand was just…amazed. The people he wanted to avoid the most were actually sitting in his room, and more so when it was only two days since the Academy commenced.
Talk about irony.
But it wasn’t like he was regretting his decision for letting them hear what he confessed to Fiona since sooner than later mostly everyone know who was it who was involved in Fiona’s kidnapping case. One of the sages would be going to be involved in this, so there was no point in trying hard and concealing the fact.
“Jin… I… I am really sorry fo-”
“Shh…you don’t have to apologize. I knew they were here, so there’s nothing for you to feel bad about.”
Jin held Fiona’s hand to calm the anxious girl down who has been in an unusual emotional state where she was reacting strongly to most of the things. Jin could understand the reason for it that’s why he was trying to soothe her as much as he could.
“Aww…how lovely~”
“Yeah…now kiss!”
Dia was awed at the scene and Rena being Rena demanded a much-needed romantic scene she would probably love to see from these two. Well, it was sudden but no one was unaware that Fiona seemed rather invested in Jin lot during their trials.
Fiona’s pale white face dyed crimson as she leaned her head to hide herself from others and inwardly cursed the two who elevated the scene. In comparison, Silvie also had a similar reaction but from the corner of her eyes, she was glancing at the couple as well. The elven girl was too, interested in romantic stuff, though she would never accept it.
Jin sighed with a shake of his head before he gestured for Fiona to take a seat on the chair that he previously occupied. For himself, he pulled out a bean bag from his spatial storage much to others’ astonishment and curiosity.
Not in the mood to entertain their interest, he nestled on the comforter before directing his question to Aiden.
“Aren’t you a little too calm even after knowing I am a murderer?”
********
A/N: – I hope the conversion between characters doesn’t bore you guys since always being in action and focusing just on the development of the plot would take the spark away.
