Let me be a mob! - Chapter 42- Need answers!
A/N: – Before I start this chapter… If you guys are regular readers of my stories then you probably know how bad I am at keeping the directories of names I use in fiction. Another example is the Principal whose name I couldn’t find and also the perverted teacher as well.
I am using a new one, so please if any of you remember what was their names or in which chapter it was mentioned, do let me know in the comment section. Anyway, enjoy the chapter~

Erwin Eldritch, the principal of the Excalius Academy and one of the strongest beings in existence was at the moment, feeling a sense of insecurity. This feeling wasn’t new but surely it has gotten past the phase where he had imagined himself doubting his strength. Power to protect the precious students and their humble subordinates.
Erwin was not someone who would kneel in front of just anyone since the old man has gained a lot of experience and attained those achievements which one could only dream of reaching in one lifetime.
Erwin has forgotten how many times he has saved thousands upon thousands but he was not doing a favor by saving them so he actually doesn’t put a count on it and serves his purpose as one of the seven sages in the world. The role of protecting humanity and preserving the state of calmness and tranquility among the masses. The responsibility is to prepare the young generation for the future threat and provide them with the best environment to grow up into fine warriors.
But today, Erwin’s belief of being able enough to handle any catastrophe on his own shattered when he came across that woman who associated herself with the evil organization, popularly known, as The Mamba.
She had…. an immense amount of mana, that was for sure. Even more than Erwin. The old bearded principal could tell just by glancing at that overflowing signature of energy around the redhead. True, Erwin had much better Mana efficiency than the woman since his aura was barely traceable, but that sheer display of strength without even trying to show it off spoke more truth than what the crimson demon could have verbally stated.
Erwin knew that once they clash, consequences were destined to incure and many more students would get sacrificed even if Erwin tried to take the battle away. Teleporting that woman even if someone as talented as Lisa would have tried in her prime stage, would have created a dimensional vortex, worst might have thrown the chanter into a vegetable state.
For someone that young to achieve that much strength is humanly impossible—Erwin frowned as the thoughts crossed his mind. Sure there are prodigies and the legacy someone carries of their ancestors serves as a powerful backup in elevating one’s potential. But that much….there was something Erwin had to research about.
Mainly, it was related to demonic convergence. The rumored practice is where someone accepts Dark energy which was limited to the demons. Once someone with high talent in mana tries to blend with foreign energy, such a negative one at that, then there was possibly one conclusion, Erwin could land upon.
Catastrophe.
And the redhead he saw today was nothing short of a calamity in his eyes whom Erwin could have only subdued if he were to unlock his innate sage seals. But that would go rather extreme and in the vicinity where young children were present…that many collisions of such great strength would not end preferably.
***KNOCK*KNOCK**
“Reporting, Headmaster.”
Knocking twice on the door, Lisa walked in before she voiced the motive for her visit this late at night. Her eyes were redder than usual and exhaustion was making it difficult to even sustain her usual composure.
Erwin decided to wrap this up quickly to give his assistant and such a hard-working professor some rest before he nodded for Lisa to continue.
“None of the convicts were found in the thorough inspection and investigation which I personally did along with the Special forces. Further investigation is still undergoing related to the security breach and intrusion in students’ dorms which in normal circumstances would have been impossible for even S-rankers.”
It was a mystery how the barrier which held the capabilities to withstand any possible forces on the plain was dispelled by some high-ranking goons that easily. It seemed they just chanted one or two spells and got done with the barrier which Excalius Academy has taken pride in all those years in the past.
When you are expecting the least for someone to intrude suddenly barge in and began assaulting the youth who were yet to be introduced to the brutal reality… Yes, it did take a lot of toll on the Academy.
“Casualties?” (Erwin)
Lisa had a hard time forming words and voicing them out since losing students who were in her and all the other professors’ security was something that would haunt the violet-haired woman for a long time.
Recalling the numbers she has been repeating since earlier, Lisa responded in a near-emotionless tone.
“12 are injured, 13 in grave danger but would be healed after the Saintess arrives and 18 are dead.”
Erwin sighed in grief and self-repented since he was not able to protect those precious eighteen lives who must have had thousands of dreams and had to do nothing with what transpired today, yet just because they were present at some unfortunate place and a grave period…all those innocent souls would no longer be able to see the light of a new day.
Erwin wanted some alone time and since Lisa was herself incredibly spent, he decided to call off for the day. But suddenly he felt Lisa’s mana flaring alarmingly and the blend of her intent made the atmosphere overwhelming.
With her eyes downcast and a low growl escaping her throat, Lisa included some information that was making her tremendously enraged.
“18 are dead…including those four who were sent on the Representative trial from the first years.”
Erwin sighed and understood the reason for Lisa’s frustration since he was the one who told her about the true reality behind the incident which the first years should have never faced.
The reason why the first years had to face a C-rank Illusion monkey when none of them were capable of facing such a monster lies in the fact that someone had been involved in the matter from within the Academy.
And that person was Spancer, the same person who was found dead in his room. The reason for his death was severe slashes all around his body and his mana points being punctured. Lisa caught Spencer releasing the Illusion Monkey in the forest when she was patrolling around but before she could catch him, a group of criminals attacks her and provided the window Spencer needed to escape.
What transpired after that or what caused his death was yet to be discovered but in total, Spencer seemed to be punished by those for whom he betrayed his role as a teacher and was the reason for the potential demise of all the first years who went for the trial.
“I beg an answer, Headmaster. Why the fuck did that betraying bastard get an honorary award when the thing he actually deserved was to be slashed into countless pieces and fed to the beasts.”
Even Erwin wanted he couldn’t frown at the crude language his mostly courteous assistant didn’t refrain from uttering. He knew Lisa was disappointed by his decision but this was something he did to not elevate the flare of suspicion children were having on Excalius Academy.
Having one of the teachers plot against those students whom he was responsible for…Indeed a matter worth creating chaos.
To change the topic, Erwin swirled his mind before something clicked related to the expedition Lisa was so worked up about.
“Lisa…you told me, someone from the students was able to handle the C-ranked all by himself? Who was he again?”

For more than ten minutes, Jin remained silent and let Fiona calm herself down from the shock she received after realizing that Jin was the person she was seemingly searching for. Though he has yet to ask why she was so invested in his identity.
It seemed she already knew from her investigation that it was Jin who met her all those months ago but she wanted a verbal confirmation or sort and now when she knows…Fiona was just a broken mess who was trying hard to not squeal.
Well, truth to be told, Jin was slightly embarrassed himself for being fawn over by such a beauty who is ever right oozed with his taste and preference but he didn’t let it show and tried to subdue the out of character Fiona.
“But…but…why didn’t you stay that day… Why did you leave so suddenly…?”
Fiona asked with her eyes growing all droopy and adorable which made Jin avert his gaze to save himself from patting the jumpy cute ball who was finding it difficult to hold her curiosity and asking question after question like Jin would disappear the same second she stops talking.
“Well…staying there would surely have caused me problems and I really didn’t want to get in the eyes of your father.”
Fiona blinked in surprise with her lips slightly parted since she didn’t understand why Jin would not want to meet her father when he was so an easygoing and friendly person. But before she could have voiced another set of queries, she saw Jin looking past her, toward his cupboard before he announced something Fiona was entirely oblivion about.
“Are you guys sure not gonna die in there?”
