Let me be a mob! - Chapter 36- I will do what I can!
On the other side of the forest, far from where Fiona and Jin were currently in the process of rescuing the survivors, two figures could be seen rushing their way through the dense forest, with the same motive as the other aforementioned two.
Rena and Aiden were tagging along since their fighting style was somewhat the same and had similar attributes as well. It was a fact that Aiden had more than one attribute but he was not used to utilizing those. And considering how he caused heavy damage the last time he tried to use his other attribute made the boy even more dependent on his Emission skill.
“S-Stop… I am spent…”
Rena finally gave up with her pretense to be not affected by the constant jumping and running around for straight half an hour at such speed as she called out for Aiden along with her struggling gasps.
Aiden also had beads of sweat over his forehead but he was not that tired to take a break. However, leaving Rena in this eerie place alone was not something Aiden would like to opt for so he halted his steps and walked toward the girl before offering her the flask of water he was carrying.
“Here ya go.”
Rena grabbed it before hurriedly twisting the cap open. Aiden sighed at how greedily she was gulping water like a camel who has been on the run for a day. But it was his fault as well to think that everyone was equally trained in physical capabilities, and Rena could keep up with him.
Unlike Rena who has been taught in favorable conditions, Aiden was made to face the dangers of reality from a very early age. He always overdoes things without minding about the people he is around with. And since he had a pressing matter to save his classmates in hand, Aiden was rather getting restless.
Rena could sense the impatience from the boy and after finishing the content from the flask she was about to ask him to go ahead since she didn’t want to hold him back. However, the halt to her gulps was brought not because of a lack of water but rather something she felt underneath her feet.
Her hand parted the mouth of the flask from her lips before with a frown, Rena handed it back to Aiden and crouch down in great urgency.
“What ha-“
“Shhh!”
Rena shushed the guy, before planting her left ear directly over the dry soil, with her eyes closed and mind drifting toward the source of the slight shock wave she was hearing.
**Thak**
**DAK**
****DAAAK***
With a smile Rena got up from the ground, seemingly finding the source of the sound and reason for it, before she called the perplexed Aiden to follow her.
“Found it. Come on.”

“Woah…”
What greeted both the teenagers after advancing some meters to their south, was something they expected and not as well.
Four giant lizards, who were able to balance out their weight on their hind limbs and were circling around a campfire with their heavy club thumping on the ground randomly yet simultaneously. It seemed some kind of ritual dance but that wasn’t concerning more than the thing which was hanging just above the campfire.
“Those…monsters…”
Rena growled under her breath as she saw the horrified expressions of the four students who were assigned to her team. Like roosters, they were being grilled over the massive campfire and were in an ugly condition because of their burning skin, and horrified screams.
Rena was about to jump into action before she felt an electric wave reaching from her right. Startled she turned her head to see a lightning-enveloped Aiden glaring at the sight with nothing but sheer anger.
Her own agitation soon turned into astonishment and admiration as she saw the scene unfurling in front.
Aiden was not fighting those monsters but crushing them under his rage. It was a sight to behold that Rena would never be able to forget for the rest of her life.

Back at the entrance of the forest.
Brad and Dia were left to protect the students who were unconscious and those who would be returning after being rescued. The reason why those two were still not awake stems from the fact that they were exposed to such a blood lust for the first time which caused trauma for them to carry for the rest of their life. And in absence of mana, they must have received a paralyzing stroke which their bodies were taking time to restore.
Fiona had healing potions but she chose to not feed them because those students who need to be rescued must be in a much worse condition. And since the two initial fallen were in the guard of Brad and Dia, it was much more reason why they were not provided with potions up until now.
“Hey, you fine?”
Silvie was pulled out of her daze when she heard the feminine voice approaching her before a beautiful blond princess landed her butt on the same log where Silvie was resting.
Silvie nodded to the question and forced a smile to reassure the girl who seemed concerned about the elven girl even though she had minimal to no conversation with her before coming here. This shows how outgoing and considerate the royal highness is.
Dia blinked before with a sigh she took a hold of the small girl’s hand, much to the latter’s surprise before the blonde princess asked in a low whispering tone.
“You sure don’t look like you are fine. Tell me, what is it.”
Silvie was rather taken aback to realize how easily Dia was able to read her expression but then again Silvie was never able to hide her thoughts from others in the first place. Some people have told her that she needs to be more poker-faced if she doesn’t want to be caught in some serious situation in the future.
But right now, to blow out her steam, Silvie was thankful that Dia asked her about the thing which was weighing down the elven girl for a while.
With her gaze falling to the ground, Silvie uttered her words in the same manner, the questioner asked her.
“I am worried about our classmate, Jin Carter. He’s….interfering with something which could end his life at any random minute until he is involving himself with such strength. I know since I have seen people getting greedy with those powers and losing them in the process, and in turn harming those who they called their beloved once.”
Dia’s brows were raised in astonishment and slight concern regarding the powers Silvie was talking about and more so it had the person who seemed to be the most evident specimen carrying the strength which Silvie feared.
Dia had no idea what it was or where that power originates from but the fact that Jin despite being the same age was able to get this strong that he was able to defeat a C-rank monster all on his own was slightly concerning as well. And from what she could evaluate from Silvie’s words it seemed those powers were dangerous enough to destroy its user.
Jin might not be her close friend like Fiona but Dia still cared for him like an acquaintance. She was saved by him which brought a sense of bond between them. Such so, the frown and anxiety inside the blond princess seemed justified.
“Is there not any way to stop him from receiving that power or maybe help him not dwell in it?”
Since Silvie didn’t tell what kind of power it was, Dia was not going to pry on that matter but she could persuade the girl in order to stop Jin before he destroys himself.
“There is a way to help him…but I know Jin most likely would ignore me as he had done already yesterday and today before the test as well. And considering the thing he has gotten himself involved in, I understand why he is wary of me-“
“Like hell, it matters! All it matters is that we are his friends and we are going to help him by hook or crook. So don’t back out when the time comes and help Jin before something….happens to him, okay?”
Silvie with slightly wide eyes turned to see the girl who sounded more anxious yet determined than Silvie was. The elven girl knew that the royal highness was a generous and kind person but to the point where she was worried about a boy whom she barely knows….indeed admirable.
Or maybe there was something more to it…?
Silvie didn’t know and she didn’t want to pry into that as well. All she could do was extend an arm of help toward Jin and let him choose whether he wants to take that assistance or not.
Returning the gaze with her own determined one, Silvie nodded as she resolutely replied in a much bolder tone.
“I will do what I can.”
