Let me be a mob! - Chapter 32- Fiona\'s distress!
Rena has always been a mama’s girl, who looked after her mother and wanted to become like her when she grows up. Well, considering who her mother was, it was entirely understandable for Rena to pursue the path her mother walked on.
Rena was the sole child of the war goddess Elena who after the great war which happened twenty years ago, retired from her work because she desired to settle down with her family.
Rena was born five years after that war when Elena finally found the man she could love and spend her life with. Rena might be one of the children who were present during her parent’s marriage since Mr. Fulgger, Rena’s father was also an army officer who barely came back home so it took him a child to finally muster up the courage and propose to Elena.
For the five years of her life, Rena lived like royalty, given the deeds her mother has partaken in the past. Elena was provided with enough funds to live twice throughout her life without needing to earn even a single penny. But everything came rushing down when Elena’s husband died in a small conflict between neighboring countries.
It was only her husband who was keeping Elena around the capital since she long had lost her interest in fake extravagance and living like a celebrity.
To mourn her grief in solitary, Elena took her daughter and went to a faraway place where no one knew her by face and there the duo was able to start a normal average citizen life. It was rumored war goddess disappeared from the face of the earth after her husband’s death signifying that the woman was incredibly depressed, and Elena wanted the news to stay like that so no one tries to find her.
It was a small village where Elena began working as an adventure despite having only one eye and one arm nearly useless. She wasn’t an S-rank for nothing. Though she hid her status and compressed her strength, she was soon promoted in the ranks and was having a good earning for a healthy lifestyle with her daughter.
Rena, despite losing her father and being separated from her friends back in the capital, still held her goal as her primary motive and trained from a very young age to become like her mama. She never let grief or any other emotion weigh her down and continued to absorb whatever her mother taught her.
It helped even more that the brown-haired girl awakened a light attribute, making her a hero candidate and securing her future due to the medium which would be taking care of Rena when she reaches the prime of her teenage. Excalius Academy.
Rena grew up into a healthy and level-headed young girl. Despite people sometimes calling her a tomboy it didn’t matter to her. She had instilled her mother’s teaching and had a clear path ahead that would lead her to the destination.
Her mother not only taught Rena but several other children as well, but those were not even close to what Rena had achieved. She was very much proud of herself to reach such a level of mastery of the fighting style her mother taught her.
She was so confident in her skills that she never thought that there would be a day when someone would arrive and break her smugness and rub the mud on her face by showing the reality of disillusioned Rens.
She never saw the face of that mysterious apprentice who came to learn from his mother but she vowed to at least once meet him in the future when Rena would become powerful enough to beat him. Considering the fact that the boy was able to win even the war goddess’ respect and earn the mythical weapon, Fenrir, which Elena took pride in, made Rena admire the boy, and her determination to meet him rose even more.
But little did she think, that the legendary apprentice Rena was so intrigued about…would appear this soon and nowhere else but as her classmate…

“Rena. I don’t know what you want to talk to him about, but it’s better if we take Jin to the infirmary, first.”
Jin thanked inwardly to the protagonist who made the brunette stop her banter about the axes since Jin really was hurting a lot, now when he was settled down and his brain realized that the battle was over.
Jin was repenting himself for not practicing enough in the manaless zone, even though his master insisted to do so. He was reluctant since there are very rare creatures who actually can block mana supply, but now he was regretting his decision.
Even though knowing the plot and having a general idea that he might face illusion monkeys not long after joining the Academy, Jin barely paid much attention to manaless training. He was so occupied with spirits and learning mana efficiency from Elena, that he found the other things as extras.
“Fuck…”
Jin cursed out loud as he tried to lift his arm which had broken bones. Pain contouring his expression, he tried to move when suddenly, a hand glided from beneath his underarm and supported Jin’s broken arm on the person’s shoulder.
“Thanks.”
“It’s okay.”
Aiden replied with a small smile but soon cringed when he tried to move Jin and heard a slight crunch from somewhere in Jin’s body.
“I am good, please continue.”
Aiden nodded before he slowly began moving forward, being cautious with each step. The blood was so slippery of the monkey that it took him some mana on his boots to keep his feet intact on the ground.
There are beasts whose blood is used for lubrication due to the high percentage of an oil-like substance called Eblirum present in their blood. It seems the illusion monkey was of those types.
“Here.”
Suddenly Fiona appeared in front of the two, making Aiden pause in his steps as he saw the silver-haired maiden offering a cyan color liquid-filled vial toward Jin.
‘Hmmm… ‘
Aiden raised his brows since having a high-grade potion around was a fortune worth since it costs a lot considering the number of alchemists available all over the globe. Potion-making was not a job that can be attained just by studying that was why the market was monopolized.
“Thank you.”
Jin uttered steadily, still feeling hot and itchy in his throat since it seemed he engulfed some blood of the monkey. He took the vial carefully before getting rid of the top and downing it in one big gulp.
Even though Fiona just like usual seemed stoic, Dia could see the concern filling her friend’s eyes. Whether it was because Jin was the person who could be the savior Fiona was searching for, or maybe anything else, Dia knew for sure that Fiona currently was quite distressed seeing Jin like this and she could understand her friend’s stance.
To save others or whatever it has been the reason, Jin nearly lost his life in that battle, and even though there were the top students of the academy were standing at the side, there was nothing they could have done to help him.
Later in the day, all those present here to witness what transpired today would come to realize something and have a sudden growth of motivation to not remain as they were.
