Let me be a mob! - Chapter 31- Gleipnir!
From the eyes of others, Jin was getting pushed back and he indeed was, because, with each blow that the giant monster poured out on him, Jin felt his limbs giving out and stamina beginning to evaporate.
Despite only being engaged in combat for mere eight minutes, Jin was feeling his chest heaving with his ragged breath struggling with each heave. He knew how he was still far from capable of handling Spirit’s blessing and using it through his body, which was still something he needed time for. He might have trained a lot to increase the efficiency but one has to remember that it takes around a hundred years for elves to even get familiar with spirits and here he was partaking in something which requires a master-level practice with spirituality.
But Jin got no other option than to lure the monkey to a side where he doesn’t attack the others and also drown the creature in agitation since what an egoistic creature hated the most was to fail to crush their enemy in their desired fashion.
**UGOHH**
Growling, the monster swung its massive arm which landed like a thick steel rod being struck on Jin’s coated arm as he was now able to vividly feel the force applied behind each strike.
He was yet again sent flying back some meters before he crashed into a thick trunk of a tree, making the leaf drizzle down due to the impact. Jin grimaced slightly in pain but his expression soon turned, or he forced himself to smirk, much to his opponent’s frustration.
There undoubtedly was a reason for Jin’s actions and to execute his plan he needed the monkey to be fully enraged so the intelligence-carrying creature doesn’t back off by any sudden thing Jin pulls out.
***THUD*THUD**
The sound of heavy thuds reverberated as Jin suddenly widened his eyes and crossed his arms in an ‘X’ in front of his chest as he saw the monkey suddenly jumping just a few feet away from him before joining its legs and striking its paws right at Jin’s center.
***KRIK**BOOOM**
The tree cracked despite its diameter being one meter before Jin was thrown back away with his arms still crossed in front and air extracted out of his lungs. He could feel that a few of his ribs has been broken and so did his left arm.
That previous strike would definitely have killed someone like Brad after what beating Jin has faced under the manaless environment but Jin has endured more beating than this prior to coming to the academy. He knew how to hold himself together when the situation got dire and he did the same thing right now as well.
“Just this, you fucker? I didn’t even fall…” (Jin)
It was true that Jin was thrown away with the force but he never fell to the ground and kept his feet steady, although his legs were shaky now. He kept his smirk widened on his lips as blood dripped from different spots on his face and body.
If not for his tattered state, people could have thought that Jin was merely playing around but he was not.
***THUMP*THUMP**UGHHOOOO**
The monkey thumped its chest showing the uproar in a dangerous manner which solely could make a person run for their life and hide as far as they could. The chest-thumping was just the warning bell since the monkey soon began charging toward Jin with its horrifying red eyes glimmering more than ever, thirsty to drink the blood and eat the flesh of its enemy.
Jin smirked, this time actually before he murmured something under his breath.
“Come forth: Gleipnir.”
The monkey was so close to striking Jin that it missed the moment when something emerged in Jin’s hand and the world suddenly grew dark for the creature.
**SLASH**
With a single slash of his axe, the money was halted in its state before something incredibly unexpected happened.
**UGO? **
The creature who held its head high because of the intelligence it carried, was just as confused as the audience standing horrified at the side which included now Fiona as well, as they saw the scenery in front.
Once the howling creature was now falling toward Jin, but the fact that it was bisected in two made the people agape rather than petrified about what was about to happen.
Jin just…slayed a C-rank monster in a single strike?!
“A-Am I really seeing what I am seeing?”
An entirely flabbergasted Dia with her eyes widened as a saucer stared at the previously one-sided battle site like she watching a modern-world ghost and was yet to react.
The same was for Brad and Fiona as well since they also couldn’t comprehend how the heck a person could kill that thing in just one strike like he was slicing butter with a heated knife.
Just a moment ago, Fiona was about to jump into the fight despite not having the vital resource in her arsenal called mana, but she could just not do nothing and sit idly when her classmate was about to get killed.
But now she could only feel her jaw drop at the sight of seeing someone of her age slay that C-rank beast in such a manner like all her life was a lie and anyone could achieve such a feat with hard work. She would have never believed it if someone has told her about this incident, but now when she has seen it with her own eyes…Fiona could tell that Jin was more than what he seemed.
As for Brad, then he was feeling fortunate that he didn’t poke Jin that day more than necessary since what Brad has evaluated… Jin was way above his league. No, maybe Jin was already the strongest among the students, and maybe stronger than some professors as well.
The group was so dazed in their thoughts and the scene in front that they never noticed when Rena and Aiden arrived near them and when Rena suddenly approached Jin with her eyes stretched. But unlike others, she was not in awe because Jin killed a C-rank beast.
Rather…
“Where the fuck you got those from!?”
Jin snapped back to reality as he glanced at the brunette girl shouting at him while pointing at his weapon which already was in process of disintegration. He still had not had much strength to use that weapon, especially without mana.
“Answer me! Where did you steal those from!?”
“Rena, what happened?”
Aiden frowned and asked in a confused tone as he advanced toward the fuming girl, clearly displeased about Jin having those dual axes which were now somehow fading.
Everyone else was now also focused on Rena as the girl huffed and stated the truth and the reason for her agitation.
“Those axes are the famed weapon, gifted to the war goddess Elena. Made from a mythical beast’s mana core and the only one in existence, Fenrir.”
Fiona gasped at the words as well as Dia. Brad was also startled to hear that the dual axe Jin summoned were actually the weapons forged for the person who was the reason for their kingdom’s victory against a formidable enemy in the past.
It was widely known how the war goddess Elena was able to subdue the whole army of demons with only a single eye and her right arm broken. That battle was glorious and was written down in history which people still remember like a tale even though the war took place more than twenty years ago.
Rena was not able to hold herself longer as she stomped forward before glaring at Jin but soon her feet faltered when suddenly she heard Jin’s reply which she could have never expected.
“Its…a…parting gift…from my…teacher…”
