Let me be a mob! - Chapter 20- Doubt?
It was after the practical assessment that the results were announced and every student was directed to make their to the inner section of the Academy and wait for the leader board to be updated and the students shall get to know where they would be sitting for the next six months.
Just like everyone, Jin was also making his way out of the evaluation center without paying an attention to the number of gazes he was receiving ever since the scoreboard showed his name on top. He really didn’t like being in the spotlight so walking away without any further ado seemed the most plausible idea to help himself.
But suddenly someone took a hold of his hand and started pulling Jin in a different direction from where he intended to go.
Jin could have forced his arm out of the said person’s grasp but witnessing the long blond hair on display he was left speechless and mind numb for several seconds as Jin thought about the reason for this heroine being so assertive toward him!
But soon he realized that this person was doing the exact opposite of what Jin wanted by grabbing, even more, gazes from his surroundings, which brought a pause to his feet and naturally, Dia’s as well.
Dia used her utmost strength and even coated herself with mana but to no avail since she utterly failed to budge Jin from his position as she heard his neutral voice asking her the expected thing.
“Why are you pulling me this way? Did I do anything to displeasure your highness?”
There was mild irritation in his voice as well which didn’t go unnoticed by the blond noble as she let go of his hand and turned on her heels with her brows risen up to see the man once again from head to toe.
Thin frame yet strong arms along with sharp and somewhat penetrating eyes makes the person those eyes gaze upon think that the boy is prying something more inside of them. Trying to see through their outer cover and gaze upon their soul.
His ashy grey hair did a great job giving him a vibe of a haughty noble who doesn’t regards anyone even comparable to him yet his behavior hasn’t been much to justify that look. He clearly was displeased with the way Dia behaved but had the lid on his temper to ask her ‘nicely’ while maintaining the formality as well.
“I want to have a chat with the top ranker and thought it would be best to walk toward an isolated place since I don’t think Mr. Top ranker has much liking toward onlookers, right?”
Jin narrowed his gaze slightly at the clearly amused Princess as he still tried to understand the motive of her approach but she was right about the last part. If she really wanted to talk then knowing her personality it would be better to resolve it right now rather than to dodge it.
And conversing with the royal highness in the middle of so many people while being eavesdropped on all around was not something Jin preferred so he began walking toward the end of the corridor where a signboard of fork and spoon was hanging by the wall.
Dia grinned and began hopping on her way toward the cafeteria behind Jin.

“So what is it that your highness herself has to bother come and ask herself?”
As they sat on one of the tables which were in the most corner to the left of the entrance, Jin asked in a much better tone than before since he didn’t want to become a character of mysteries and behave coldly toward the princess which generally attracts most of the woman, from what he had read in his previous life.
He knew various things had drowned down the drain already but if possible he didn’t want to attract any more attention, especially from the main cast, if possible.
“Tell me one thing and I will leave you and promise to not bother you from now on. But based on your answer I might change the terms~”
The playful voice of the girl and the way she swayed her finger, in the end, made Jin slightly uncomfortable about the thing she would be asking since if not for her desirable answer she might really make his life hell. It was not he was afraid of her, but rather because of the troubles she comes with.
He gulped without letting it know to the other person as he awaited the predicament.
“The night when Fiona was kidnapped…were you the one who saved her?”
There was still a tinge of amusement and cheerfulness in her voice, implying that Dia was not serious about the matter but both she and Jin knew how Dia takes things seriously when it’s related to her half-sister.
Dia, upon asking the question kept a focus on how the guy in front reacts but unlike what she expected, he remained unaffected and replied calmly.
“I am not sure what you are talking about and in the first place, this is the first time I heard that lady Fiona was kidnapped.”
True it was not a matter to boast about and things were kept strongly enclosed about that incident which took place nearly six months ago so on a note it was not surprising to see that Jin was unaware of the incident.
Dia was in a bit of contemplation about his response with her mind racing and eyes constantly observing the boy in order to extract any kind of clue which either give her hope or dismisses all her doubts about the boy being that miraculous savior.
However, something ticked off about this boy and that was his calmness and mature behavior which didn’t show any kind of nervousness or interest despite the girl sitting in front of him being one of the most prominent and beautiful women in the kingdom.
He was way too calm…
“Hmmm~ I won’t bother you from now on, but know that my eyes would be on you for further investigation, Mr.Top ranker.”

[Jin’s POV:]
And because of that needless discussion with the damn princess, the first day at the academy went the complete opposite as I planned and now I arrived late in the first class as well, getting noted by everyone around the room without fail.
“Next time, I will deduct your marks, so be careful.”
I and Dia apologized to the charming lady and one of the heroines, Lisa, before we went to our seats. Unfortunately, she was just behind me, and to my left was none other than the ice beauty Fiona who had her eyes plastered on both of us ever since we entered the classroom.
I don’t have even to ask the reason for her doubtful gaze since both Dia and Fiona are like sworn sisters and very protective of each other so Dia coming late with some random guy must have put her on caution.
“Okay then, now we all are here, then why not begin this class with an introduction? I will be the homeroom in charge for the year, Lisa Reigner. I am a Teleportation attribute user. It will be better if you guys can cooperate and make this class with the ranks you all have attained. Now we will start with you first ranker.”
