Let me be a mob! - Chapter 133- Ambush~4
The battlefield was dyed with the shade of white as Jin moved restlessly across the arena, claiming the lives of his foes at a terrifying pace. His ambition was predetermined and having a lack of empathy for his opponents, never allowed his hands to waver.
However, the effect of Ullr was slowly lessening and more and more demons were able to regain their mobility.
“*MROOOOONGH!!*” A monster which seemed like a tiger by its massive maw and the body of a humanoid orc, dropped its sledgehammer in the direction it sensed its prey advancing.
However, Jin was not only aware of everything happening around him, he was able to react to them fluently.
A direct confrontation was futile if Jin could slay the beast without trading blows. The instant he sensed the hammer whistling toward his head, Jin propelled himself into the air. Time seemed to freeze as he soared above the ground, evading the monstrous blow. In one fluid motion, he unleashed his lethal attack. The beast’s feline head hit the ground with a sickening thud before it even had a chance to complete its strike.
The battle was proceeding as planned, but Jin sensed something massive approaching from miles away. It was an alarming sensation, reminiscent of the dread he felt when facing the Crimson Witch back at the Academy.
‘The Frost Queen herself? No…it can’t be….’ Jin knew that the Queen wouldn’t move herself so early in the game. She has several more pieces to sacrifice before she makes her appearance.
What Jin dreaded was his limits. He didn’t want to fall in the battle before he could fulfill his goal. And up until now, despite slaying over seven hundred demons, he was able to only fill one tenth of the lantern.
‘Don’t think about it…’ Deciding to not worry about what hasn’t happened, Jin continued the spree of slaughter.

At the northern gates of the palace stood numerous soldiers who were stationed there to fight off the invaders. However, until now, not even a single demon has escaped past the wrath of the warrior with the dual axes.
Amongst those many soldiers, there were two humans as well, who were given the responsibility to both, assist the security of the palace and work as a messenger between Alzeith and Jin—if there would be a necessity that is.
“Can you feel it? The tremors and those death cries?” Standing with his blade resting over his shoulders, an armour-clad Aiden asked his friend.
Rena hummed with her eyes unwavering yet she wasn’t looking at anything particular. All she cared to focus on currently was the loud resonance of battle from afar.
Although they couldn’t see the situation on the battlefield clearly, the palpable sensation of numerous deaths and the strong stench of demonic blood sang the bloody tale unfolding on the battlefield.
“Having the blessings of the Spirit has pushed Jin far above us. I couldn’t even feel the motivation to catch up to him.” Rena mindlessly uttered. She has already realised the gap between herself and Jin. Even though not much time has passed since enrollment, the current version of Jin could easily be regarded as someone in a whole other league compared to his past self.
Aiden nudged the girl with his shoulder, making Rena look at him with a questioning look.
“It was only Jin who could have achieved what he had. Accessing the blessings of the spirit is not something everyone could attain who knows of it. Take Silvie for example.”
“What are you trying to say?”
“I am saying that Jin did whatever he could have done to save those who were close to him. Rather than comparing yourself with him, you should get inspired and try to become a better version of yourself as well.”
Rena slowly retracted her gaze from him and looked forward.
Now that he said it, it was true that Rena had always compared herself to Jin.
Being her mother’s favourite student and someone who had defeated her brutally in the past she felt a sense of frustration towards herself and did everything in her power to become better than him. Even after she was called back home, Rena didn’t spend a single day without practice.
Her mind was so clouded with competitiveness that she completely forgot about her individual progression.
However, thanks to Aiden now she realizes her mistake.
Her gaze returned to him and that solemn expression morphed into a grin.
However, before she could have said anything, a crushing force descended on them.
“Khukk!!! What the hell is this?!” Rena, who was brought down to her knees, asked through her gritted teeth. And it wasn’t just her, many soldiers have fallen down as well, under the crushing aura.
Aiden, who has somehow kept himself on his feet, looked forward—toward the battlefield before uttering under his breath,
“S-something…menacing has arrived….”

[Some minutes ago]
[In the monitoring room]
The expressions on Dia, Lisa and Silvie’s faces were almost the same. They couldn’t hide their surprise when they saw the current situation on the battlefield.
Through the one-eyed Oni, they were able to surveil the war zone and witnessing the strength Jin was showcasing, took their breath away.
Lisa, who had been teaching Jin until some days ago and believed that she was quite familiar with her student’s capability, incurred a critical hit when he released an S-rank spell earlier.
Silvie was just in plain awe at the surreal display of Spirits’ blessing. She hasn’t even heard if any elf had such a connection with the Spirits at such early stages.
And Dia….well, she was just basking at the sight of her beloved, moving across the battle zone like he was the ultimate executor. Unlike Fiona, she wasn’t petrified by the blood, rather she seemed fascinated by his movements. The way he fought, the way he dominated, the way he claimed the lives of his foes—everything sent a thrill of excitement down her spine.
Unbeknownst to others the blond princess has awakened something inside her upon witnessing her lover involved in such a bloodshed.
Then there was Alzeith, who indifferently stood at her place with her hands crossed. She knew this would happen. She knew Jin’s strength and at what length he could go for her.
However, just like Jin, she was sensing something massive arriving which shouldn’t have appeared this early.
And just as she thought,
“Your Highness, the four demon generals along with their armies have appeared!”
