Let me be a mob! - Chapter 130- Ambush~1
After leaving the room with the three ladies inside, Jin made his way to the dining room and found that everyone had already left.
“Where did they go?” Upon asking the nearby maid, he got to know that they were in the training ground behind the palace.
Since Jin wasn’t sure how long it would take for their discussion to conclude, he decided to join the others and get himself to move after eating so much earlier.
The distance from the palace to the training ground might not sound too far away—if only one is not aware of the palace’s dimensions.
Jin chose the easy path and after jumping out of the palace, he levitated his way to the training ground.
‘I should now use the Rune Stone…’ En route, he was again reminded of the fact that he nearly killed Fiona some hours ago.
Now the need to use that Rune Stone has emerged and Jin’s trust in his supposed daughter has now strengthened.
“Oh, hey~You got out from there alive?” Rena, who spotted Jin advancing towards them, asked with a cocky grin.
Jin heaved a long-winded sigh before reminding Rena, “You need to at least show some concern for your friend. And here you are, just greedy for the drama.”
Rena laughed out loud while slapping his shoulder, “I know they won’t actually kill you to have you so why should I get concerned?”
“Have you seen those eyes of Your Majesty? I wouldn’t have been surprised if she had decided to harm Jin so he could rely on her for the rest of his life.” Hearing Lisa’s remark, Jin’s expression turned blank.
“As a teacher, those words don’t suit you, Professor.”
“But I am telling the truth. The Queen is quite possessive towards you, I can tell just by looking.” Lisa added without a bit of shame of talking about her student’s love life.
“What did you do to garner the Succubus Queen’s attention?” Elena, who was previously sparring with Aiden, voiced her query.
“Must have used his oh-so-serious but handsome self to gain her interest.” Aiden spat which urged Jin to roll his eyes.
“Just say that you are jealous…after all, I have three beautiful lovers and you are still single.”
Hearing those words brought a blush of embarrassment to Aiden’s face and at the same time, a grin to Rena’s lips.
She draped her arm on Silvie’s shoulder and spoke in a loud tone, “Who says Aiden is single? He got himself one heck of a beautiful elf.”
“Ehhhh???” Silvie’s eyes began to swirl as she was brought into the crossfire all of a sudden and with such bold remarks.
Aiden also panicked but before he could say anything, Jin added, “No wonder why Aiden seemed so concerned for Silvie.”
Now Silvie was practically in a state of emotional meltdown. Her face was redder than the rising sun and her mind was swirling with those words directed at her and Aiden.
Aiden gritted his teeth his face now completely red in embarrassment as he glared at Jin, “Spar with me! It has been so long since I have disciplined you!”
Aiden summoned his Excalibur which urged Jin to raise his brows and remind his friend, “If I remember correctly then last time you lost to me, no?” Even if he said those words that suggested he wasn’t opting to battle, Jin had already summoned his twin axes.
“I think we should step away?” Rena suggested but given Lisa and Elena’s focus on the other two she realised she was the only one who felt a little unsafe here.
Jin casually rested his axes on his shoulders and allowed Aiden to make the first move.
The wielder of the Holy Sword was now stronger than before and he could comfortably hold his sword without showing any signs of incompatibility.
The battlefield turned pin-drop silent for a moment as the two contestants stood while facing each other and in the next moment,
*CLANG*
A pair of steel collided against each other as the figure of the two males appeared now far closer than before, in a flash.
Sparks flew around the two as their sentinel weapons clashed and they got into a deadlock.
A smirk lifted the left side of Jin’s lips as he realized what had changed.
“Haaaaaaaaaaa!!!!” Aiden let out a strong battle cry before mana began to radiate from his whole person and the wielder of the Holy Sword began to push his opponent back.
Jin realized that in a pure strength contest, he would lose so he raised his left leg and kicked Aiden’s gut.
“Ugh!” A pained grunt left his throat as Aiden slid a few meters back before lifting his sword diagonally above his head.
*CLANG*
“Quite perceptive.” Jin praised as he remained levitating above Aiden with his axes’ blade struck against the Excalibur.
Sparks began to swirl around Aiden as Jin in a rush levitated away from the guy.
The streak of lightning followed Jin and momentarily, Jin lost sight of his opponent.
[Come forth!]
Finding himself getting cornered, Jin chanted rock walls around him that absorbed all the lightning and saved him from getting electrocuted.
**SLING**
It was more on his instincts that Jin raised his head and found his eyes dilating.
The tip of Excalibur was inches apart from his face and Jin didn’t have the time to move away given he was still surrounded by the walls.
Closing his eyes, Jin accepted his defeat before a loud explosion ensued on the battlefield.
The Excalibur was charged with Solar Energy and upon impact it created a mana explosion, rather than actually penetrating through his target.
The walls around Jin were blasted away and a small crater formed at the point where Jin stood a moment ago.
Dust and rubble created a cloud of smoke—blocking the audience’s vision.
Due to the heavy sound of detonation, Alzeith followed by Fiona and Dia also arrived at the training ground with a frown shared by all three.
As the smoke started to clear out, the figure of a person could be seen, still standing at the spot where the explosion occurred.
Everyone expected this to be a clear victory for Aiden—however,
“Damn….never thought Aiden would lose after coming so far…” Rena muttered to herself as she saw Jin standing on Aiden with his axe pointed toward the latter’s neck.
“Wanna continue or you surrender?” Hearing Jin’s voice which was devoid of any fatigue, Aiden felt a tad bit frustrated.
However, he didn’t contain that emotion for long and with a sigh, released Excalibur, “I accept my defeat.”
Jin also sent his axes back, before offering a hand to Aiden.
Once they both got up the first person to arrive by their side was Rena.
With her hands on her hips, she narrowed her eyes at Jin and asked, “How did you escape that last attack?”
Jin could feel various eyes directed at him and curiosity plainly overflowing in them.
He simply raised his hand, “Like….”, and snapped his finger, “…this.”
“Ah!” Rena exclaimed as she found herself standing at the spot where Jin was a moment ago.
“An advanced spell of Teleportation magic. Even I can’t perform it well.” Lisa spoke those words with a bit of surprise.
Jin shrugged and replied, “I got the blessings of Space Spirit. And following their lead I was just able to achieve i—”
Suddenly Jin and everyone else widened their eyes upon feeling a severe killing intent from a single direction.
Alzeith was about to call her Minister to report when suddenly a guard arrived by their side and informed them,
“The enemy troops! They have ambushed us!”
