Let me be a mob! - Chapter 120- Resolve
Lisa became a professor right a year after graduating from the Academy. Currently, she wasn’t a week older than twenty-four—which was quite a young age to become such a renowned name at the Excalius Academy.
When the great war occurred, twenty years ago, she was just a child and lived in a faraway town from where the battle was transpiring. However, the news of the war and the important events that occurred during that time regularly reached her town as well.
Amongst so many names and news, the name of a single commander, wielding a battle axe and overwhelming the battlefield, echoed the most.
The person who defeated hundreds of demons all alone. Held the fort with just thirty soldiers alive for a month. And the one who gained the title of War Goddess—Elena.
Lisa admired the lady with all her heart and wanted to become someone like her in the future. Lisa’s motive to pursue the life of an adventurer and then stumble upon the Excalius Academy was motivated by the tales she heard of Elena during her childhood.
And today, Lisa was meeting her idol face to face for the first time.
Those strong muscles have yet to lose their strength. That battle scar going down her left eye and that overwhelming aura she possessed….everything was just as Lisa heard.
“…Professor?”
“Ah!” Hearing Rena’s voice, Lisa exclaimed as she realized her mistake.
She has been staring at Elena for quite some time now!
“Thank you for taking care of this lass all this time.” Hearing Elena’s words, Lisa’s heart was filled with elation as she hurriedly responded,
“You don’t need to thank me, The Brave One. It is my duty.”
Aiden along with everyone else, minus Elena, raised their brows in pure shock.
For someone as prideful and arrogant as Lisa to bow her head and talk so nicely to someone….this sure was nothing but utterly unusual to witness.
“Oh, drop the formalities, will ya? Just call me Elena.”
Lisa was an admirer but she wasn’t a fanatic to cause trouble and make Elena uncomfortable because of her stubbornness.
Nodding, she said, “As you wish, Elena.”
Turning her head toward Fiona and Dia, Lisa asked, “I suppose you two ran away from your houses?”
Lisa would have received a letter from the Capital if Dia had been sent back but that wasn’t the case. Given the situation through which the Academy was going, it was highly probable that the Emperor would not send Dia back to the Academy this year. And the same goes for Duke Lukehart.
Dia looked embarrassed but still nodded.
Aiden raised his brows as he asked, “For you to take this massive step…I guess you must have a solid clue to find Jin.”
More than curiosity, he hoped so.
“Before that, shall we move to somewhere else? I think we might be gaining attention.” Lisa suddenly directed her eyes toward the Academy as she felt someone looking at them from afar.
“That’s the old man, Erwin, right? Long time since I saw him.” Elena grinned upon finding the prying eyes of the headmaster looking at them from almost half a kilometer away.
“Professor Lisa….there is no eatery or motel around the place right?” Dia asked in a worried voice. She didn’t want the Principal to arrive here at any cost or Dia might have to return to capital.
Lisa grinned as she said, “Don’t worry about that. I have lived here long enough to know some of the secret hideouts.”

“Your Highness, are you sure about this? The Blood Ceremony to elevate your lifespan should be handed to someone strong and trustworthy!” The tone of the Prime Minster has never been so loud and bold in front of Alzeith. However, given that she was concerned for her queen, explains why Alzeith hadn’t obliterated her by now.
The court was ongoing with two people standing in the middle of the aisle. Only a few ministers and council members along with three commanders were allowed in this courtroom since the matter currently being discussed was highly confidential.
Beside the Prime Minster stood Jin with his face, devoid of any emotions.
“I agree with Prime Minister Esmer. It is about your life and death, Your Highness as such we couldn’t take risks handing it to a human.”
This time it was a woman with short black hair and a single long and thin horn protruding from her head and one down her chin. She wore a severe expression that told how she and the others were against Alzeith’s decision.
“I think all of you are misunderstanding something here.” Alzeith’s condensed voice made everyone in the courtroom, shiver in fret.
Leaning back in her seat, the Succubus Monarch draped her long left leg on the other and continued in her previous tone,
“I am not here to hear your objection or suggestion. I have already decided that Jin would lead the army and carry the Blood Ceremony. Those who don’t agree with my words, leave before I pluck that useless head off your shoulders.”
*Clench*
Jin glanced at the Prime Minister and found her clenching her fist in frustration. It was not just her but everyone in the courtroom seemed dissatisfied and against the decision Alzeith made based on Jin’s request.
As the Commander previously said, it was a matter of Alzeith’s life and death, and someone like Jin who had arrived in this realm fifteen days ago to carry such an important task….indeed they had a valid reason to protest.
“Alzeith, if you give me permission, then I would like to say something.”
Esmer glared at Jin for calling the Queen in such an informal manner but Jin ignored that and after receiving approval from Alzeith, he walked some steps ahead and turned around to face the council.
“I believe most of you have already guessed it by now, but still, I would like to declare that I and Alzeith share a past. And after reuniting we still are very close. However, being responsible and caring subordinates as you all are, I know you can’t believe mere words—coming from a human, no less. ”
Taking a contract out of his storage, Jin continued, “That’s why I have created this contract which states that in the upcoming war, I will give my best to fulfill the necessity of the Blood Ceremony and will not betray Alzeith in any form. I would not let anyone else hurt her until I am alive and will give my all to save Alzeith.”
Walking towards the Prime Minster he handed the contract for her to verify.
Esmer went through the contract thoroughly and even though she knew he wouldn’t lie at this point, reading the contract made her greatly surprised. There was no loophole or hidden meaning behind the words.
Jin was….purely devoted to saving Alzeith.
And if he fails or breaches the condition, then Jin will lose his life immediately.
‘…why does he care about My lady so much?’ Esmer couldn’t discern but she didn’t have the time to contemplate either as someone said,
“But why is there no stamp of agreement on it?” The Knight Commander asked, with suspicion laced in her voice.
Jin calmly replied, “I didn’t sign it since I wanted first to let you all test my strength. I challenge everyone in this room for a duel. If I win, I will stamp that contract and initiate the Blood Ceremony and if I don’t….then you all shall decide what is better for Alzeith.”
Jin was certain about his words and none of the statements he just conveyed were spoken under the influence of adrenaline. He was clear-minded and well-set about his motive.
He was going to save Alzeith even though he had to defeat these people or the whole army under Alzieth’s command.
His resolve was firm and now, no one can shake it….
