Let me be a mob! - Chapter 111- Next Sage?
“What’s the status report? Is he well now?” As Lisa walked out of the office of the Headmaster, Professor Brian asked her in a neutral tone.
There were only a limited number of people allowed in his office these days, given Erwin’s condition after that battle.
“Injured, exhausted….guilty.”
He wasn’t able to use Nexus when the calamity befell—was the news, that was currently circulating across the nation, and surely it must have reached the old man as well; further degrading his health.
Lisa’s voice held an equal amount of sympathy and frustration as she pinched the bridge of her nose and tried to compose herself.
Brian didn’t try prying on what was going on in her head and jumped on another topic, “What about the Sage community? Any word?”
Surely, when one of the Sages was no longer capable of performing its duty, the other Sages would not just sit and wait for the balance to be disrupted.
Lisa sighed and shook her head.
Not so long after, some words of concern left her lips, “I hope Annie arrives here before those geezers do.”
Now the fate of Excalius Academy and the chance to reclaim the respect rested on her shoulders. And Lisa would do everything in her power to support her friend in becoming the next Sage.

Jin was, once again, blindfolded.
His hands were shackled behind his back, as he was led toward an unknown location with his shoulder being held by the same minister who came to notify him about the Empress’s wish to see him.
It wasn’t like in these two days, Jin didn’t try to escape from this place or contact his friends. However, his mystery card and the only source of escape—Space Spirits, weren’t responding to his calls at all.
Time Spirits and Space Spirits are the most moody and arrogant ones, who only heed one’s call, when they find it utterly necessary. And saving Jin’s life wasn’t a necessary job in their eyes.
Thus, Jin was left with no other option, than to follow the instructions and do what was being told.
If the Succubus Queen has decided to let him live for this long, while providing Jin with so many facilities, then she must have something in mind for him. To grant him freedom, she might propose something evil.
Jin wasn’t sure what he would do if the Queen asked him to slaughter a whole village or something, but his priority lay in gaining liberty and seeing his friends and especially…
‘Fiona…’ Remembering the silver-haired girl, Jin’s heart ached, but he kept his feet stable and crossed several turns to reach the destination.
“We are here.” The coquettish voice of the minister who was holding Jin was not directed at him.
Not so long after, Jin’s blindfold was lifted, making him blind for some moment.
It took him some seconds before Jin regained his vision, and observed his surroundings.
It seemed like a palace, with a long corridor and several small throne-like seats arranged on either side, which were currently occupied by numerous females wearing expensive-looking attire. Even the guards standing around were all female.
If something that has to be noted about these entities, apart from their condensed aura and domineering presence then it would be how otherworldly beautiful each one of them seemed.
‘Just being a troop of the Succubus queen is enough to bring out one’s best version huh…’ Jin inwardly wondered.
His eyes finally trailed toward the aisle where a sole figure sat on her throne with her left leg draped over the other.
It wasn’t like Jin didn’t have the curiosity to see the Empress but knowing about the trick of her charm, he rather decided to keep his eyes below her knees. He couldn’t dodge getting tranced by her beauty since this single female is the most beautiful existence in the whole world…maybe Goddess Alia would be as enchanting, but in the mortal realm, no one is more attractive than the Succubus Queen.
Jin could feel numerous gazes on him, however, a single one was weighing on his entire person. It felt like extra luggage was hanging on his shoulders. Though it was a little uncomfortable, Jin didn’t waver from his position.
“Why don’t you look at me?”
To break the ice, the Empress called out, and undoubtedly, those words were directed at him.
It was surprising how Jin could sense the underlying tease in her tone. Nevertheless, he didn’t respond.
Without any warning, suddenly someone appeared right in front of him, with the pressure on his shoulders now intensifying. This presence, mere inches apart from him, was no joke.
More like Jin was getting overwhelmed being this close to this individual.
“Why don’t you look at me?” Hearing the Empress, now closer than ever before, made Jin nearly flinch yet he retained his gaze affixed to the ground.
“You insolent human! How you dare-”
*SCHFOOOO*
Jin’s eyes widened as he turned his head toward the right and found one of the courtly chairs, where a voluptuous blue-haired lady sat a moment ago, now enveloped in flames. And it was no mere regular flames since Jin could sense how even the screams of agony were not escaping the bind of the spell.
Within seconds, a high-ranking demon was turned into ashes, leaving not even the throne behind.
Jin was beyond astounded.
‘…wasn’t that Raefiery?’ The renowned spell of Hades which very few could dream of attaining was in the hands of the Succubus Queen, even though her canon counterpart never mastered this spell.
Regardless of his inner dilemma, the content of her question remained the same,
“Why…don’t you look at me?”
Jin had to tear his eyes away from the sight where someone was sacrificed just because they tried shouting at him, upon hearing her voice.
Now focusing back, Jin knew he had no option but to reply, so he said, “I don’t want to disrespect the Empress.”
It seemed…a fair lie.
To maintain respect for a Monarch, peasants never looked at their face; at least not from the front. As such, Jin applied the logic here as well.
Who knows, he may impress the Empress and get himself a ticket back to the other side.
“Disrespect…or fear? Fear that I may end up capturing your heart?”
Jin frowned at the statement. Why would she…even want to have affection from someone whom the demon often referred to as nothing but maggots? And no one but the Succubus supreme was the person building such an assumption.
All his rambling was soon broken down when suddenly, the woman leaned forward and whispered just inches apart from his ear,
“Or do you really don’t wanna see your Aya?”
“!!!”
Hearing that name, a chill ran down his spine before Jin lifted his head in an instant.
The face he was met by, was definitely unknown and enchanting…but those eyes….those damn eyes couldn’t have belonged to anyone else.
“Aya…”
His ex-girlfriend and also, the person who probably murdered Jin in his last life was right in front of his eyes.
