Let me be a mob! - Chapter 110- Current situation
It had already been three days since the battle between a Demon and a Guardian transpired; concluding with the defeat of the latter.
Many things came to light that day. The first and foremost, Headmaster Erwin was no longer capable of carrying on the role of a Guardian since the most prominent spell of a Gatekeeper; Nexus was not in his capability of performing when Madonna appeared.
Second, despite how strong the management and staff members of the Excalius Academy were, none of them were able to stop a student from getting taken away under broad daylight. There were every top-ranking warrior present around, but no one was able to stop the inevitable.
The parents who have admitted their children to the renowned academy have begun to withdraw their wards. The reason was pretty clear.
Teachers here could not even protect themselves and also, the strongest pillar of the Academy was nothing but fodder in the eyes of a real threat. Thus, by the third day, half of the student body, mostly from the first and second years, had already abandoned the Academy.
Those who remained, still have faith and devotion toward this school and the teachers here. They still want to graduate from this renowned Academy and get themselves the recognition that could secure their future.
Apparently, those students, who stayed, mostly belonged to average families or those who had no other option. If taken in percentage, then only ten percent of the original numbers of noble children were left in the Academy, that much the Crimson Demon has left her terror behind.
…..
Sitting around the table were Rena, Aiden, and Silvie who had been forced to join classes today. Rena’s recovery was finished by yesterday, but as per the rules she needed to join classes even though a tragedy befell just some days ago.
Forget about the student, even Professor Lisa was so shaken up, that she fell into a daze more than thrice during the lecture.
Now during lunch, these three were sharing a table. Dia and Fiona were called back by their respective families, despite what they wished.
They both were so shaken up, that Aiden forgot about his own grief and tried consoling them with Rena’s help. But, like a broken doll, they did nothing but hum whenever anyone tried talking to them.
Fiona at least cried and got angry at herself, but Dia….she was beyond devastated.
“You heard the rumors…” Rena’s call, brought Aiden back to reality before he shook his head and bit on the bun he had taken for lunch.
“Haah…there are people who are blaming Jin for causing so many problems. Some might have outrightly rejoiced, if not for the walking terror named Amanda.”
The atmosphere of the campus was now divided in two. One of those who were continuing their daily life without any comments toward the incident. And one who was happy, that the biggest burden was lifted.
Very few were actually sad about Jin’s loss, and Amanda was a prime example of that.
“Doesn’t matter what they say. Jin was and always would be my friend and someone I care for.” Aiden held no hesitation in his voice.
Jin has saved him and others on various occasions and has become an entity in their life, which cannot be replaced.
“Any lead Silvie?” Hearing Rena’s query, Aiden also turned his head toward the elven girl.
Silvie had ways to connect to Spirits, and considering how Jin was favored by those celestial tiny brings, there was a hope that she could find some clues on his whereabouts.
Silvie sighed before she shook her head; much to Rena and Aiden’s disappointment.
“…I have a speculation…please don’t trust it though.” Hearing Silvie’s unsure tone, both Aiden and Rena shared a glance before turning their attention toward the green-haired one.
Silvie leaned on the table, and so did the other two before she whispered something she had merely guessed based on her knowledge of Spirits.
“We all know that one of the Great Spirits—Undine, has already regarded Jin as her king, and once an individual gains the title, their death causes a huge uproar in the spiritual world.”
Rena sucked on a short breath while Aiden’s brows creased, as he asked, “You mean….”
Silvie nodded and answered his unspoken question, “There is no disturbance in the Spiritual world, which suggests…”
This time, Aiden filled in,
“…Jin might still be alive.”

“I feel more than alive eating this…what is his again?” Sitting inside the cell in which Jin has spent the last three days, the boy ate a finely prepared meal on his plate.
The reason why he seemed so cheerful was because he was provided with three meals every day and each meal was full of nutrition. Some were identifiable and some were not.
Just like the current one
“It’s pahaluar, a mashy vegetable served with cooked wild boar meat. It’s quite a rare vegetable which only grows in this season.”
The guard stationed outside his cell answered in her neutral tone. In just three days they formed some kind of bond where Jin asked some random question and she moodily replied to it.
“Hmm? Does every prisoner get the same treatment as me?” There was more than one reason for Jin to ask something like that.
Not just the food but there was a shower and a washroom given inside the cell. A single bed and even some training dolls to practice martial arts.
Magic was forbidden tho…by some kind of artifact, attached to his ankle.
Hearing Jin’s query, the female guard snickered and replied in a mocking tone,
“Consider yourself extremely lucky. Those who get sentenced to prison have to eat their own organs while being under the influence of a charm that doesn’t allow them to feel pain. The jailbird either dies from organ failure or if the charm effect wears out.”
…suddenly, the same food didn’t feel any more appetizing to Jin.
However, more than feeling disgusted, Jin was perplexed.
If the convicts here are treated such savagely then why was he an exception? It wasn’t like Jin wanted to be treated harshly but he was concerned about what was to come.
*TAK* *TAK*
“Attention! The Prime Miniter is here!”
As the main guard alerted, Jin got up on his feet and leaned on the wall. The guard outside his cell straightened her back and stood in attention.
The sound of heels clattering resonated across the lobby before the figure of an unbelievably beautiful demon came into view.
She had violet hair tied in a ponytail, wearing leather jeans and a skimpy shirt that exposed a lot of her tanned skin. Her alluring figure and mesmerizing violet eyes made Jin dazed for a moment. But soon, he was able to pull himself together.
The said lady, stood in front of the cell, assessing Jin from top to bottom with a sly smile never leaving her lips.
“Release him. Empress wants to meet him.”
Hearing those words, a chill ran down Jin’s spine.
It was finally the time.
