Let me be a mob! - Chapter 107- Lost?
Jin was finding himself getting cornered. Although stated, it wasn’t like he literally was getting pushed back, but the fact that he was protecting Dia and Fiona from the assailants, reduced his options for offense.
For the past thirty minutes, Jin had to use his spiritual based attacks over and over again. He didn’t have any long-range weapon nor was he proficient in any, which left him to rely on the ice spikes and wind blades, to keep the ambushers at bay.
‘As I thought, they aren’t just wannabe criminals…’ Initially, Jin estimated the goons on a very low power scale, but now, he could say that he highly underestimated them.
They weren’t just resilient but also, know how to bounce back and when to attack. They had better coordination than Jin and his group could have ever showcased.
[XXX-XXXXXX-XX]
Chanting under his breath, Jin conjured a total of eighteen ice spears above his head before manipulating them around the battlefield.
*CLING*
Those who were facing the spears head-on, were able to ward off the danger, while those who were targeting the teachers and Aiden’s group, were taken by surprise and received a hefty amount of damage.
However, considering how none of the remaining assailants were below C-rank, Jin didn’t expect much of a great impact from his assault. His eyes roamed toward Lisa while he conjured a wall of ice in front to counter the incoming fireball of the adversary.
Lisa was holding her ground against three similar-looking goons, with different weapons but almost identical fighting styles that complimented each other’s combat. It was tough for Lisa to assist others when she herself was entrapped in the maze of those three.
“ORAAAAA!!” Jin raised his forearm before a heavy metal descended on the raised limb, sending a jolt of pain throughout his body, as the ashy-haired teenager gazed at the exposed chest of the aggressor.
Without a second thought, Jin used his mana-coated fist to land a fairly brutal punch on the burly man’s left chest plate.
**BOOOOOM**
The man flew back, but Jin didn’t have the time to see the end result of his assault since a woman of small build snuck past him, aiming to assault Fiona.
However, “Not so fast!” Dia jumped just in time and used her short sword to tackle the assailant, bringing their weapons into a momentary hold.
Jin didn’t waste time before using his dagger to impale the woman’s side torso.
“KHAKKK!! YOU BASTARD!!” The woman, in a rage, pushed away Dia and swung her dagger toward Jin’s temple.
Raising his arm, Jin easily brought the attack to a halt, but the woman was agile enough to drop the dagger and hold it with her other hand—which was positioned near Jin’s ribs.
*SQUELCH*
Jin grunted upon feeling the cold metal prying inside his muscles and drawing out blood, however, he didn’t let the pain overwhelm him, and using both his hands, he held the woman by her chin and head and twisted it according to his muscle memory.
*CREAK*
Like a cucumber, the woman’s neck snapped before she dropped dead on the ground.
Jin exhaled a deep breath before he took hold of the dagger, the woman left behind and pulled it out.
The silent assailant who was rushing in his direction, had to halt mid-way since Jin threw the dagger backhandedly toward the aggressor.
The trajectory was fast, but not unavoidable, so the man just raised his wooden shield to let the dagger pierce it.
However, since he covered his face with the shield, the assailant never witnessed when Jin covered a distance of eight meters with his hand slanted in a chop.
*SQUELCH*
Another flow of blood erupted, but this time, it was the shield-holding man, who suddenly found himself falling…with his body still standing upright.
Jin, who just utilized his mana-coated hand to chop off the assailant’s neck and detach his head from his body, jerked his wrist to wipe off the blood.
He could hear someone vomiting behind his back, probably Silvie, but he didn’t turn to console her.
This needed to be done, or they would be done for.

The lady who had initiated all this chaos was currently exchanging some blows with the old man, responsible for the Academy and also the Veil, that separates the two worlds.
Madona wasn’t unaware of the fact that this old man was also one of the Seven Sages who had the responsibility to maintain the Veil.
Under normal circumstances, she would have taken her time and strategized before attacking this specific individual, given his history with demonic beings and the experience he possessed.
However, she got to know a very vital fact about the old man, which allowed her to be a little reckless this time.
Conjuring a globe of magma, the crimson head, launched it toward the bearded man, however, it didn’t even reach the target before diving into particles and evaporating into thin air.
Madona grinned witnessing that,
“You still got that nullification thingy on, eh?”
The headmaster of the Excalius, Erwin Eldritch possesses a skill that subdues anything that originated from mana.
Everything, that is coated with mana or has traces of magic in it, comes into the domain of the old man, and the very next second, it turns into dust.
No one knows the limit of how long Erwin could withhold this technique of his, since until now, no one had the strength to push him to his limit.
And Madona seemed to be the perfect specimen, to draw his limits.
“Ol’ man, things are kinda turning grey, no? Let’s color things up~”
The elderly man narrowed his gaze, detecting an astronomical concentration of magical essence gathering around the woman.
*RUMBLE*
The earth quivered, the air assumed a warmth, and, for an instant, the entire battlefield came to an abrupt standstill. It was as if reality itself had frozen in that singular moment, rendering everything utterly motionless.
And the only thing that moved in that particular instance, was Madona’s lips, which arched in a wonderful smile.
“Game over.”
*SIIIOOOOOONNN*
**BOOOOOOM**
A pillar of flame descended upon the land, its epicenter enveloping the eldest figure. The intensity of this assault instilled trembling apprehension not only in adversaries but also among allies.
A deathly chill coursed through every spine, accompanied by an overwhelming heat emanating from the relentless barrage of flames, weighing heavily on the elderly man.
The earth yielded, forming a crater, and amber fragments scattered, impartially scorching both factions. The sky transformed into a crimson expanse, unveiling a spectacle reminiscent of hell.
“Headmaster…” Lisa’s eyes widened and her mind turned entirely numb, as the whip from her hand dropped to the ground.
This was…too much even for him. Nothing could have dodged that and withstand that last assault.
At that precise moment, every teacher and student, watching the battle, lost hope.
